fable name: … Anya I see the vision I see it
answer: I think if they ran into a regular predator or an easier boss fight of any sort they’d use their heightened senses and innate abilities to either escape unscathed or outsmart their enemy. Their wings and sleek build would allow them to quickly dodge any oncoming attacks while their horn could be used in defence if they were corned or felt particularly feisty. If it was a more mythical encounter and their enemy had powers that maybe overshadowed the fable’s base instincts, it’s cool to think of this fable having earthly power, controlling plants and such, maybe conjuring shields of tree bark, or summoning carnivorous plants and using thorny vines to over power their attacker.

    fable name: eldora
    answer:
eldora knew this was no ordinary wolf, but rather a beast born from the wild’s raw, untamed fury, a specter laced with curses as old as the mountains surrounding them.

she didn’t flinch, didn’t stir. instead, she stood rooted, letting the night’s chill bite into her skin, piercing through her layers like blades. she was a creature of few words and fewer thoughts, a silent sentinel crafted of cold and resolve.

the wolf’s growl wound through her mind, a twisted language older than time itself, each snarl weaving venom into her thoughts. its message was hidden in shadows, distorted and feral, yet one word surfaced, clear and sharp: "end."

eldora’s gaze remained fixed, her expression unreadable, unyielding. she said nothing, only let her wings fold tight, her hooves pressing deeper into the earth as her muscles coiled, prepared for what must come. her light stirred, hesitant at first, before swelling—a gold glow edged with something darker, like embers buried in frost. it stretched outward, pressing against the shadows, filling the forest with a chilling, golden haze.

the wolf’s fiery eyes glinted with something almost like recognition—a flicker of ancient defiance—before eldora’s light consumed it, stretching far and wide until every twisted root, every thorned branch, was bathed in her cold, relentless glow. when the light withdrew, a thick, charred imprint was all that remained, a dark stain against the earth in the shape of a wolf.

the forest stilled once more, and eldora’s form softened, her edges blurring, her glow dimming like the dying embers of a distant fire. the shadows seemed to reach out, winding around her, until only a glimmer of gold remained. then, even that faded, and the silence deepened.

in a forgotten chapel at the heart of the forest, a shaft of moonlight fell through a single stained glass window. eldora stood within it, frozen in shades of gold and deep teal, her figure encased in glass, her wings spread, and her gaze fierce but feeling, locked forever in a legend told only in hushed voices. for eldora was not of flesh and blood, but of myth, the forest’s guardian trapped in fractured light—a warning, perhaps, for those who wandered too far into the dark. fable name: remedy
answer: the scene is dark and desolate, the quiet patter of hooves is the only thing that fills the odd silence that had overtaken the land, like the threat of a storm the world seems almost noiseless here, lying in silent anticipation for the first sign of rain, the violent crash of thunder and flash of lightening that never came. remedy treks onward despite the fact, the only splash of color through the dim path, though her mood blended well with the environment, she moves because she had no other choice. though her reasons for doing so remain unknown, she doesn’t have the company, nor the voice to ask for help, she had lost that long ago. she could move faster but her heart was far too heavy to take wing, they felt too weighty at her sides and at times she found them begin to droop, her eyes are distant, glossy, her head at a permanent dip, though the gesture holds meaning as she scours the ground with stubborn determination. the images of her companions sorry state continues to flash through her mind, though she wills herself to focus, giving a shake of her head she releases a breath she didn’t realize she was holding. still remedy continues her search, resources were running scarce and she was limited on herbs to numb his pain. suddenly a noise breaks her from her dreary thoughts. remedy halts, recognizing the clearing she had stumbled upon, a sharp gasp escapes her as she catches a shadow in her peripheral, a flash of lighting overhead illuminating it, though when she turns to look nothing is there. keep it together remedy, for him, you need to keep it together, stay strong for his sake, you must, she reminds herself, the words repetitious. the ground rumbles beneath her hooves and all at once the roots below her begin to shift and shake, taking on a new life like serpents woken from a deep slumber. then, the threat emerges, the ground in front of her erupts and from the earth rises a massive carnivorous plant, its spiny eyeless maw opening with a horrible gargle, its size large enough to swallow her whole. rearing in fright remedy spreads her wings to take flight but finds her path cut off as one of the beastly plants roots raise from the earth and swat her as though she was a mere fly. the wind knocked from her lungs remedy crashed to the ground with a cry. again she tried and failed to evade the monstrous plant’s speedy attack. in fear she cowered, even as the monsters voracious jaws opened and the tendrils began to wrap around her legs and pull closer. hopelessness flooded over her in that moment, a looming feeling that had at last weighed far too heavy to bare. but then, that stubborn memory returned to her, the one who was depending on her, and those dark, desolate thoughts were suddenly overwhelmed by a new feeling; anger. on cue, the brewing storm joins in her silent rage, the winds pick up, ruffling through her feathers and mane, like the very sky is speaking to her. you will not consume me! with all her might she rears, and swiftly rips away the plants grasp with her horn. one, two, three, boom! lighting strikes the sky once more. remedy’s sharp mind keeps count of the period in between the strikes and deafening roar. propelling herself into the air, she nimbly dodges the vine-like tendril before it has a chance to grab her, diving and weaving through its plants writhing limbs with a newfound fury ablaze in her eyes. each wing-beat purposeful, and strategic as the roots tangled and wriggled uselessly, with one last root free to rid herself of, her intentions were clear as she fluttered in place, her nostrils flaring and her eyes narrowed with newfound ferocity. the thunder sounded, and so began the count down before the storm released its mighty charge. just as the plants tendril lunged forward, remedy dashed skyward, and so too did the monsters hungry roots follow, higher, higher. three, two, one. without warning, with the speed of a falcon remedy evaded the attack and dived downward as the beasts limb rose just in time to make contact with the strike of lightning, exploding in a magnificent display of light and fire which took to the plant like kindle wood. remedy was not spared from the impact, the blast knocking her to the earth below with an force that saw the world going black. when she stirred from the battle, the fable raised her head to observe the aftermath of the battle ground in a daze, her fur coated in ash and a stench of burning wood hanging heavy in the air. where once was a monster was no more, but in its place, something new caught her eyes. there, among the rubble, of singed root and sizzling thorn, there it was, the flower she had been sent out to find, as soft and blue as his eyes. the very thing she had been searching for, at long last she had found it. before remedy even truly processed the fact tears were running down her soft features, at last she had found the medicine, at last the rains had come, and at last she allowed herself to finally weep, out of joy, out of sorrow, out of the relief in knowing he would suffer no longer.

fable name: Lirael
answer:

---- The Veilspinner ----

Lirael had been grazing near the forest's edge when the air suddenly thickened. A strange hum vibrated through the ground, and from the mist, something emerged—a creature that felt wrong. It was the Veilspinner—a massive, insect-like thing, its body a flickering shadow that seemed to blur in and out of reality. Its wings were translucent, like broken glass, and its eyes—if you could even call them eyes—were dark, endless pools.

It moved as if the world itself couldn’t hold it. The trees around it bent and twisted, as though they were caught in some kind of distortion. The creature hissed, and in its wake, rifts tore open, spilling tendrils of dark, shifting shadow toward Lirael. The air around her warped, the ground beneath her hooves buckling.
Lirael froze for a moment, instinct screaming at her to run. But the rifts were closing off her escape. The Veilspinner was no mere predator; it was something older, something tied to the very fabric of reality itself. Running wouldn’t help. But maybe, just maybe, she could do something else.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. The elders had spoken of it—the aether, the unseen currents that bound the world together. Lirael was connected to it, felt it hum in her bones, flowing through her wings. If she could tap into it, she might be able to hold this thing back.

The Veilspinner lunged, but Lirael didn’t flinch. Instead, she let the aether fill her, reaching out with her senses. With a sharp, focused thought, she pulled at the space around her, calling on the energy that tied all things together. The ground beneath her feet glowed, and with a surge of force, she cast an invisible tether between herself and the creature.
The Veilspinner screeched, its body twisting in protest, but the tether held firm. It was trying to slip away, to fade out of existence, but Lirael’s will kept it anchored, pulling it back into the physical world. She could feel the strain, the pressure as the rift it had opened began to close, but she kept her focus, tightening the tether around the creature like a noose.

With a final, deep breath, Lirael willed the aether to break the creature’s hold on reality. The Veilspinner’s body flickered one last time, then collapsed in on itself, unraveling like a thread pulled too tight. In an instant, the rift was gone, and the forest was still.

Lirael stood there, panting, her wings flickering with the last remnants of energy. The forest was peaceful again, but she could feel the weight of what she’d done.

fable name: Alidar
answer:
Sweat drips down his brow, the salt stinging his eyes. He doesn't take his gaze off the wretched beast.

Thunder rumbles through the jungle - all else is silent save for the pitter patter of rain.

Ash speckles Alidar's coat, the smoke in the air thickens. The creature before him fumes, embers burning in it's bright, merciless stare. Eyes like a forest fire pierce into him - he cannot look into those fiery depths for long.

"You foul beast," he hisses, nostrils flaring. "What have you done?" The village below lies in ashes and smoke, mere rubble, where once his home stood. "You were supposed to help us," he rages, tears clouding his vision. "We prayed to you, we begged for your mercy." The feathers of his wings flare as rage boils inside him.

A chill goes down his spine - for years his people had prayed to this deity - this creature of rot and destruction. They had been blinded by it's mirage, by the mask of peace and calm it wore throughout his people's short history. Perhaps for a hundred years they had lived near the lagoon, nestled in the valley - now no more. His village had been cradled in this jungle, with the Raging Sea just beyond the shelter of the lagoon.

The deity had once been a delicate creature, far taller than any fable. It had fur like spun moonlight, a mane like magnolia petals, and a tail that flowed like stardust. It had been beautiful, like glimpsing a living dream. And it had placed them under a spell with its enchanting voice and cadence, in a language no fable understood. Before it had only been glimpsed by his people once a year on the spring solstice, when the two moons touched in the night sky. It lingered on the edges of their society, in the trees of the darkened jungle, and when strange, terrible things began, his people left it offerings. Jewels, food, flowers - they left beautiful things for the shy deity. Until it grew greedy. It had changed over the seasons, growing taller on it's six spindly legs. The once pristine, almost glowing coat, turned drab and flat and the aura became malignant and diseased. The very air around what they once worshipped became tainted and shadowed.

It grew.

It changed.

Until they suffered solstice by solstice to feed it, afraid it would devour them whole.

Mortu - the young called it - death.

The monster snorts a laugh that mimics rocks scraping together. It's face, long and skeletal, looks almost gleeful in the dawn. It's teeth are gold and gems, dripping in black saliva - the same substance that now coats it's oily fur. It is a miserable existence, Aladar thinks bitterly.

"Yyyyyou prayed the most, Alidar," it speaks.

His blood turns cold- it had never spoken one intelligible word before.

"You begged. You pleaded. You worshipped. Where is that loyalty now?" the voice morphs from grinding stone to soft and warm and welcoming. The three sets of antlers atop the deity's head seem menacing now, where before they resembled a crown.

The ice in Alidar's veins turns to flame. How dare it, how dare this foul creature mock him, mock his heartfelt prayers.

He would destroy it.

He's not sure if it's vengeance or mercy that drives him.

Alidar leaps, using the downward flap of his wings in a burst of speed. He rams the legs of the deity. It stumbles.

"Alidar, Alidar, Alidar,," it says in his mother's voice, his sister's voice, his grandmother's voice. Grief nearly buckles him. They are gone now.

He takes flight to strike from above. Lightning strikes a tree, the deity flinches. Mortu screeches and rages with the voices of his people, his friends, his family. Alidar drives the creature towards the sea - a place it always seemed to avoid. The storm seems to help him, pushing the creature from the land. Still, it taunts him. It berates him. It lashes out. Alidar does not stop.

Rain pelts him in stinging sheets but he doesn't stop herding the beast until they are on the sharp beach of the Raging Sea.

"I will not go back," it says with the voice of many. When it's clawed paws touch the salty surf it stops. The gray leeches slowly from it's coat and with each angry wave of water it becomes what it once was. Beautiful, manipulative, divine.

But also it seems to shrink, becoming less and less until it's no taller than Alidar's knee.

"Be gone, and never return," Alidar seethes. Lightning strikes with a thunderous crash on the shore, driving the shrunken beast into the salty sea.

"There are more like me," it taunts as it disappears. "We take what we are given, and we take and we take and we take..." it says until the waves consume it entirely.

Alidar turns back to his home and vows that he will find every last one of those creatures and banish them into the depths of the sea.
