answer: I really like the idea of fables existing on a sky-island society <.< There's something about them that makes me think that even the ones with wings mostly fly with magic, so the ones without wings use magic get around as well. Floaty flying spells for short or long flights based on magic ability, teleportation platforms between larger islands with a lot of travel or trade between them, but also communities like smaller herds on little islands using magic to make sturdy bridges between them for strength in numbers and more stability in storms. I kind of envision an environment where there's some kind of 'drifting' the islands do, so sometimes islands that haven't interacted for a while will see each other and it's really exciting (for positive or negative reasons), and maybe physically connecting islands can shift their drift pattern so it's a pretty big decision for two communities to join together versus just having an 'alliance' but maybe not seeing each other again for decades.

answer: idk this may sound weird but, honestly, Ireland! Rural, countryside Ireland specifically. I was there a couple months ago on my first international vacation (and I may be biased bc I got engaged while there!) but I loved the culture, the nature, the scenery, the culture, landscape, it all! The history plus the landscape really just felt so magical, perfect for these little creatures!

answer: I've honestly been picturing a bit of a situation like the old anime Wolf's Rain - where they have the illusion of human form in order to blend in and hide around people to protect themselves and survive best away from humanity.

answer: I imagine that very few chose to live in hear with us, most live in another world reached through portals with other "mythical" creatures. I love to imagine how Fables exist with others in this world, like sparing with unicorns, flying with dragons or griffins, and lounging on the beach with merpeople.

I imagine a deep and magical forest filled with forces of good and bad, perhaps in the greater world there exist fairies and witches, but in the woods the fables are considered good luck and often appear when they are most needed, although seeing them at all is a rare sight (some believe they don’t exist at all, hence the name “fables” )

answer: I imagine them being in a sort of Redwall-esc world, once a prominent and powerful part of the world, naturally drawn to living together in large families. For reasons outside of their control they have slowly fallen from grace, and have become so rare most consider them nearly extinct.

answer: They live in a luscious forest that always seems to be in the height of spring. Most are solitary, but a few group together for small community activities such as gardening and festivals.

I imagine them living in loosely structured groups- some of them coalesced around ‘noble’ families with complicated dynastic politics, and some of them noping out of all that nonsense and choosing to live alone. Pretty generic magical forest setting, I think- big big trees and very pretty smooth ponds and the like.
