what are they afraid of?: Kessho is afraid of judgement. He truly wouldn't mind living among the diabs if it meant still being able to see the sun and sky, but he is too afraid. He is afraid of not just what the diabs would think of him living among them, one of a subspecies of goobie that is known to prefer to live underground rather than anywhere near them, and what the agels would think as they flew above him, stuck down below now eternally grounded despite once joining them in their flight, but also how the other fallen would react to him deciding to leave them to live with the diabs rather than his own kind. Even living underground among the rest of the fallen agels he cannot truly escape his fear, as some chose to avoid him, labelling him as creepy or off-putting simply due to his looks.
