The best way to prepare for sleep is to have a good day. Servais has less waking hours than the average kalon so he makes sure to make everyday a buzzer beater! One such day goes as such:
he must go to the community pool first thing in the morning. He likes when he is able to get out of the house early enough to hear the birds chirping on his walk over. When his friends see him walk from place to place, they would never believe he moves like a fish in the water. Servais cuts through the water when he swims laps and capable of diving into the deep end just to prove he can, but sometimes, he gets roped into helping the community center by cleaning hard algae build up because he is a friendly regular.

Servais looked at his journal after he was done at the pool. Yesterday him wrote that he only finished half of the botanical garden stroll, today him is ready to tackle the other half! Servais believes in being patient with yourself. Even if it takes multiple days to do what a typical kalon can do in just one, as long as it’s important to Servais, he doesn’t mind the planning! He gets to enjoy the flowers and the butterflies at the garden at his own sedate pace.

At the end of the day, he prints out pictures of what he did and adds it to his journal with his thoughts of what he liked and disliked. There are finely written notes in all the margins and critiques bursting from the pages. It is a critical self reflection step! Why would he want to spend another 2-3 days on an excursion he didn't like. The last step is to decide where he wants to spend the next day.

On those in-between-activity days, sometimes he is so tired during his research, he slumps over his keyboard and simply doesn't make it to bed. Yet, on properly planned days, he can go to sleep simply satisfied he had an accomplished day.

prompt: Tai was born and raised in the forest... which is likely why the sights and sounds of it grate on his nerves now. No, rather, he finds calm and sleep in an almost opposite place, by the beach. His home is actually situated beside the beach, his bedroom on the second floor. Before he goes to sleep, he always opens up the windows and backdoors wide. This allows the smell of salt and the sounds of the ocean to enter his home.

Once this is done, he gathers a few small things: his favorite blanket and his favorite stuffed animal: a rather worn black and white dog-shaped stuffie called Scruffy. Sliding off his slippers he slips into bed and turns off the lights, before mentally going over the things he is thankful for in his life. Letting his worries and stress melt away from his thoughts, he puts on some final fantasy soundtrack music on his phone and slips into sleep.

He arrives home exhausted, covered in dust and dried sweat, limbs aching from the day's work. A day's hard work always goes a long way toward wearing him out, to the point where he can fall asleep almost instantly. Working with a landscaping crew, he's found, fits the bill for that pretty darn well.

Not instantly, though- first, his routine. Dinner, with his father and brother if he's early, or leftovers they've kept warm for him if he's late. Then, his dad does the dishes while he and Firren attend to the veritable menagerie of plants his little brother has cultivated throughout their apartment. Theo is not quite as gifted with a green thumb as his brother is, but he follows along behind Firren with a watering can, the two brothers recounting their days to each other, trading anecdotes and laughing softly while they check up on all the plants.

Then, finally, it is time for Theodore to clean himself up- a shower, not hot enough to scald or cold enough to shock him awake but pleasantly, mildly warm- washing the dust and dirt and salt from himself, drying off, bundling up in his sleep clothes-

-and then finally, finally, bed. He used to resent having to share a room with his little brother- wasn't he grown up enough to have his own space? But their apartment is not big enough for that- and despite his initial upset, he has grown to appreciate it. Nearly always, Firren is asleep by the time he enters their room, lulled to sleep by the sound of Theo's shower. And Theo, in turn, finds that his brother's soft breathing (Firren only snores a little bit) is the perfect white noise he needs to be able to drift off to sleep himself.
