- i can see what you were going for! unfortunately, the image provided looks like a kitten - usually smoke on kittens is a lot more vivid (especially evident in ambers), however they darken/lose a lot of the smoke effect as they age. I found the original owner of the kitten/image, and you can see the colour variation in them here, and alongside her littermate here, where the richer colour is starting to come through.
unfortunately there are no images of her as an adult, but it is possible she would look similar to this at around the 6 month-year mark, and slightly paler than this as she reaches adulthood. since stars allows realistic amber colour changes, the colour at the moment would possibly be passable on the kitten/apprentice lines, but not on the warrior lines.
i was able to track down some images of an amber smoke who is much paler (probably due to her longer fur, but bees and i have decided her colour would be acceptable as a stars-legal amber smoke) although she still has that orange/gold tint that needs to be added. so, alternatively, if you would like to keep a paler coat, you can try and line up the colours similar to this cat.
