Allergies had always been a problem for Wilder growing
up, but never more so than in their early teens; a secret

sending them into a wheezing fit that left them
completely unable to breathe. They experienced such
fear of death at that moment that the fear attached

lit to light their way as they have become almost wholly
nocturnal to escape the daybloomers.
