Chicoon name: Freckle
Companion name: Frisky
How did the two meet?:
Freckle was fishing through tide pools for a tasty seaside snack when he spotted the most delectable, plump looking shromp scuttling through the shallow water. Freckle dropped low, folding his wings back in an attempt to be as small as possible. With a squeak, Freckle leapt into the air, claws extended and blunt fangs bared. Unfortunately for the chicoon, the shromp was faster (and smarter) than him, and Freckle fell into the pool with a splash.
Now absolutely drenched and somewhat disoriented from bonking his head on a rock, Freckle tried to find where the bright pink crustacean had gone. He spotted a couple of long stringy whiskers poking out from behind a shell, and he narrowed his eyes. Freckle pounced again, landing on an unsuspecting spiky urchin with long black spines. A few of the spines poked right into Freckle's nose and snapped off, much like the quills of a porcupine.
Freckle jumped backwards onto the sand, pawing wildly at his nose. After a moment, Freckle felt a light tap on his wing. He peeked through his paws and was met with a pair of large black eyes. Freckle huffed and glared at the little creature, who gestured at the spines in his nose with his little pink leg. Freckle crossed his eyes to try and get a better look at the spikes sticking out of his nose. The little shromp scurried up the chicoon's neck and took ahold of the largest of the spikes. He squeaked as if to count "one, two, three!" before yanking the spine out.
He removed the rest of the spines and proudly patted Freckle on the nose. Freckle looked at the shromp and gave him a bright smile before grabbing the little guy off his nose. The shromp panicked for a second before realizing the chicoon was wrapping him into a big hug. Upon releasing the shromp, Freckle gestured for the shromp to watch as he wrote his name into the sand. The little shromp scuttled over and wrote his own name right next to it: "Frisky."
Since that day, the two have been inseparable, spending their days collecting shells, swimming in tide pools, and sharing delicious grilled fish!
