Sniffles blinked as she swatted him with a paw, taking a step back. It didn't help that he was shorter than she was... He gave a huff as he saw him go back to prodding at the ground. "I don't think I will, thank you!"
"What do you even want?" She snapped back in response, tail flicking in annoyance. "What part of 'go away' don't you understand?"
"You look miserable! I just wanna help you feel better!" Sniffles replied, pouting a little.
"What would make me 'feel better' is if you actually listened to me and left me alone!" Hemlock replied, using his back foot to shove Sniffles away. She seemed a little proud of himself as she focused on the ground again.
Sniffles skidded away with an "oof", straightening himself out. He seemed dejected, but he'd go ahead and leave him alone... for now.
Surely she'd change his mind as some point? Sniffles would just have to try again later!
Maybe Bullseye could help him, too. He'd just have to ask.
She'd cheer up at some point even if it took him his entire trip to make him feel better!

"Don't you look out of place here." Scooter chuckled, approaching the brightly coloured Kalon before her, "You look lost?" The strawberry coloured Kalon before her huffed slightly, "Yeah? Well, I'm glad a look how I feel..." "Do you need a hand? I've been here a few days now, I know my way around pretty well." Scooter offered with a small smile. The Kalon looked unsure and shrugged, "Uh, I guess. I can't find the Inn to begin with..." "I can take you there, I was just heading back. And don't worry, it's a little hard to find, I struggled when I first got here too." "You did?" The Kalon replied, his tone a little more uplifted. Scooter nodded, "Sure did."

It took no time at all for them to arrive at the Inn, and the brightly coated Kalon looked relived. "Thank you, for bringing me here." He stated, shyly. "Of course, it was my pleasure." Scooter said with a nod, preparing herself to leave to find her friends again. Before she turned she glimpsed at the Kalon' expression and frowned, "You still look unsure. Is everything okay?" She asked in a comforting tone. The Kalon sighed and shrugged once more, "I, uh, I guess I do feel out of place like you said... Everyone looks so prepared for all this snow! Where I come from we never get snow, I have no winter clothes, I'm freezing and I stick out like a sore thumb because of it. Maybe I made a mistake coming here." "Don't say that." Scooter soothed, "You don't stick out at all." She placed a comforting paw on his shoulder. "Why don't I take you to the market? It's just around the corner, they have everything you need to wrap up warm! And I can help you pick what you need the most! We get a lot of snow back home too, so I guess you could say I'm pretty well equipped for the weather." "Are they all brown and grey furs? I'm not sure that style suits me..." He grumbled. Scooter laughed lightly, "Not at all! They have all kinds of colours there, plenty to match your pretty bright coat! What do you say? We could even grab some hot cocoa while we're there, it's some of the best I've had." She said cheerfully. The kalon before her seemed to think for a moment, "...Is it really the best you've had?" Scooter could see a smile creep onto his face, making her smile in return, "It sure is! Come on, let's get going before the lines et too long! And we'll get you a good, bright hat and scarf while we're there!" She grabbed him by the paw and started leading him off to the market. "Uh, hey, what's your name by the way?" He asked. "Anastasia. But please don't call me that, it's Scooter to friends." The male Kalon smiled upon hearing 'friends'. "What's your name?" Scooter asked. The bright Kalon smiled a little wider, "Mac. Uh, well, Macaroon, but just Mac. To friends."

"Oh this is horrible, just t-t-terrible!"

Cassiel's ears perked to the pink colored kalon sitting on a snow covered bench, he noticed that they seemed to be fashionably unfit for the cold winter weather and was shivering like a chihuahua.
They wore a green t-shirt with a frog on it, grey capris, a pair of yellow crocs, and a blue collar fashioned with a strawberry bell.
If the kalons voice didn't catch your attention the jingling from that bell did.

"Why m-m-me? What w-was I th-th-thinking?" the kal shivered.
Cassiel didn't want to get caught up in this kalon's problems, knowing full well that they would talk his ear off about whatever is bothering them, so he knew that he needed to sneak away but unfortunately for Cassiel his boot crunched in the snow, bringing the woeful kalon's attention to him.
Now the kal has perked up and is staring right at him ("maybe if I don't make eye contact"), "hey you! hey mister!", ("Shoot!") Cassiel tried to shuffle past but knew it was too late, he was now obligated to interact with the odd kalon.

"I-I-I'm Kipper, what's your name?" he smiled painfully, "Cassiel... so uh, what's the matter?", Kipper looked at him and whimpered.
"Oh it's just terrible! Here I thought this place was gonna be all green and beautiful, filled with pretty flowers and blossomed trees, y'know because back home it's Spring, so I naturally thought that it was here too. So anyway, all I packed was a duffel with a few outfits suited for warmer weather, not any coats or anything good for snow, and what's worse is that most folks look like they were born for winter, so my pink fur stands out like a sore thumb!" Kipper buried his face in his paws.

"That's rough buddy" Cassiel was unsure of what he could do to help the guy or really what else to say.
"Are you an ATLA fan?" Kipper's eyes lit up as he raised his head from his paws, "uh... what?", his eyes widen "have you never heard of Avatar the Last Airbender!?".
This was it, this was how Cassiel would lose his sanity, he had to think fast, find something to bring this guy's attention away from cartoons.... that's it!
Cassiel stood up and walked over to a fence post that had bells hanging from it with red ribbon.
He returned and tied the bells on Kipper's tail, "there, now you fit in".
A tiny gasp escaped Kipper's mouth as Cassiel's words echoed in his head, "oh my gosh you're right! and you have pink hair just like my fur, so I'm not the only sore thumb out here! Thank you so much, I feel so much better, still cold, but emotionally better!" He stood up and went on his way, but before he got very far he turned around and waved back at Cassiel, "bye Cassie, I'll see you around!"

At first, he wants to walk past them, but then he notices that they look visibly upset.

After a moment of contemplation, he sighs inwardly, mentally bids farewell to his morning cup of coffee and makes his way over to them.

"Hello. Are you alright?"
The Kalon jumps slightly, clearly startled. Oh dear.
"What's your name?" Sterling asks gently, softening his voice as much as possible.

The Kalon hesitates for a second before quietly answering : "Sorbet."
He smiles in what he hopes is an encouraging manner.
"That's a nice name. Now... if I may ask, what happened?"
They don't seem inclined to talk about the source of their distress, so Sterling decides to try something else.

He grins conspiratorily, holding up one of his paws.
"Hey, do you want to see a magic trick?"
Sorbet nods hesitantly, looking somewhat intrigued.

Sterling closes his eyes, focuses on his magic, and pulls it towards his open palm.
A small ball of light appears, glowing softly.
It's fairly simple as far as spells go, but Sorbet seems fascinated by it - they gasp in delight, leaning in to observe it more closely.

He concentrates again, and the orb grows, then splits up into a dozen tiny, flickering lights, flitting about like fireflies.
Sorbet stares at them in awe, wide eyes reflecting their light.

Sterling chuckles, glad that they seemed to have calmed down a bit. He lets them watch the lights a bit longer, then vanishes them with a flick of his wrist.

Sorbet looks disappointed at first, but perks up again when Sterling asks: "Would you like me to show you how to do it?", nodding enthusiastically.

Sterling moves to sit beside them, recalling how he had taucht this spell to his own students back home, when they were still uncertain in their own abilities and trying to get used to their new school.

He smiles, thinking of how far they've already come, and turns to Sorbet.
"Alright. Now, hold out your paw-"

A soft powdered white snow flutter down through the sky, covering the ground in a fresh white layer all around Kalokairi Village. And with the early morning sun, just starting to rise above the mountain line, a beautiful layer of Mist could be seen, it was the completion to a perfect winter scene.

Well almost perfect... "w-was that pink?
Is it a flower? WAIT!!
Was this the first sign of spring!? Has the winter BEAST finally gone to sleep, was spring finally on its way!?

Rushing from the window, sparky quickly put on his winter clothes and boots, and rushed out the door to be met with a chilling wind. After giving his eyes a couple more seconds to adjust to the brightness from the sun shining on the snow. He refocused his attention on the strange pink thing that stood in the distance.

With every rushing step, the snow crunched beneath him, almost sounding like Styrofoam!
As Sparky approached the brightly colored object, he started to realize that the pink thing was.... Moving? Wait is it crying!!
As he slowly came to a stop, sparky looked at what revealed to be a sad little pink and green kalon, who had his face buried in his paws.

Giving the area a quick look around, he took a small step forward before giving the sad stranger as gentle tap on the shoulder.

"hey are you ok?"

Little out a shot gasp the Kal lifted his head up to reveal a tear soaked face, with swollen eyes and a bright red nose.
"o-oh! Umm y-yeah, sorry. I was just uh.. R-reading a sad book"

It was clear to Sparky that he was lying, as there was no book to be found, plus it was a pretty strange place to be reading, in a open area like this? Plus this Kal had no winter clothes on, so either he has a high body temperature, or something was definitely going on.


"do you mind if I sit here?"
Sparky asked well given a small motion with his hand.
The Stranger gave a small shake of their head before watching Sparky sit next to them.
"I'm Sparky by the way! What's your name?"
The sad kalon gave a his nose a quick wip before looking up to meet sparky's gaze.
"I'm Brady"
"it's nice yo meet you Brady, so tell me why are you really crying out here by yourself?"

Brady seemed a little taken by the question And began to twiddle his thumbs before lowering his head.
"oh! Ummm well I-I told you that I was reading a sad book"
"what book?"
Sparky asked know fully well that the Brady couldn't give a honest answer.

Brady opened his mouth to speak but quickly back tracked and lowered his head further into his paws.
"Ok... y-you caught me... There is no book, I'm out here crying l-like a child"
Sparky could only give him a concerned, as he waited for him to continue.

"i heard that during spring this place is just beautiful! I've always wanted to see it, So I decided to vacation here to finally see it for myself. Unfortunately as you can tell I seemed to have gotten mistaken because when I got here I saw nothing but snow and ice...
"Snow and ice for a kal who didn't even come prepared! Everyone is going around in warm jackets, scarfs and mittens, and all I got is spring clothes! I-I look like an absolute idiot!! And What’s worse is I didn't even know that there was some kind of festive going on! And everything is winter inspired... I-i just don't know what to do, I don't belong here what so ever..."
Brady gave a small shutter before letting out a few more sniffles.

Sparky sat there for a moment talking in everything that Brady said before giving both his knees a hearty slap!
Getting to his feet he quickly took of his jacket and placed it over Brad's shoulders before giving him a cheeky smile.

"come on let's get going!"
Brady gave a surprised look as he found himself being pulled to his feet, and dragged away. "w-were are we going!?"

"to have some fun!!" sparky yelled as he dragged his new found friend behind him.

"I'm such an idiot!" Shoto grumbled to himself, pinching the space between his eyes as his tail whipped about with a flurry of jingling bells. Of course only he, a springtime-looking kalon, would fail to realize that of course winter's hold wasn't over yet. Not that it was entirely his fault, however. Several articles online stated that this time of year was perfect for those looking to visit Kalokairi Village in the spring. The first day of spring was literally just over a week ago, but here he was, surrounded by a sea of white and frozen to the bone. He huffed angrily as he stomped about, kicking up snow wherever he could.

Suddenly a small form caught the corner of Shoto's eye, causing his rampage to slow to a halt. Then another one, and another, still yet another... Before he knew it, there was a small hoard of children running through the plaza.
Shoto looked in the direction they were running, only to see a young kalon sprinting away, his hair haphazardly braided with leaves and sticks. They all called after him, demanding that he return so that they can finish with his new hairstyle. Shoto snorted, a small smile finally forming on his lips. He honestly felt bad for this poor guy.

With a shake of his head, he started for the Inn, but that presented a new problem; the bells that were his accessories jingled with such clarity that that same hoard of children stopped. Each one's interest had been piqued, and their sights were now set on Shoto.

"Let's braid his tail!" one kit exclaimed.

Shoto's eyes widened as the mass of children took off in his direction. But before he could move, someone grabbed his paw and was pulling him at a steady pace.

"I don't know what is with these kids, but they are absolutely obsessed with braiding!" Bentley shouted, still tugging a stunned Shoto behind him. As they ran, Shoto saw the victims of these kits scattered about, attempting to unbraid bits of hair and fur. Within minutes, the two rounded a corner and dove into the Polar Espresso, narrowly escaping the crazed kits. They both tried to catch their breath, a small bit of laughter escaping them.

"I'm Bentley, and you are?"

"Just call me Shoto," the brightly-colored kalon chuckled, straightening himself up. Though the other kalon didn't know it, this little adventure was apparently just what Shoto needed to cheer up. Though he was misinformed about this village in the spring, it did still seem like a lively place. An area in which life seemed to blossom and thrive. Maybe he could still enjoy himself here.

well I'd have to show them that spring is here! First on the agenda would have to be a stop to the farmers market. To pick up a few ingredients. Obviously snacking on fruits and veggies we find along the way. The second stop would have to be my kitchen, where we'd make sandwiches together! Next up would have to be the main event, a picnic. We'd walk out to the brighter side of my lake to sit out in the warming sun. Eating out lunch while talking about the world and enjoying the cool winds and calming sun. For the grand finale will be star gazing. The best is always last. A short hike up to the top of the mountain, then the stars are ours to see. Delicious sugary treats in hand, sleeping bags under us, not much else could get better.

... Or if that all seems too much, we could just stay home. Watch some scary movies, or some rom coms, or some comedians, or what have you. Snuggle up with some hot coco and marshmallows. Under a big warm blanket, and forget the world outside.

... Or! we could sit out on the porch with a warm blanket... Or! we can go on a longer hike! I saw this really nice trail leading down the mountain! Or we could...! Could we even..? No that would be too hard... But that wouldn't be relaxing... No thats an autumn thing....

The Ink Master paced to and fro contemplating the best way to cheer the being up. After what felt like hours of muttering and complaining, they stop dead in their tracks and shouted out "cheese! everyone loves cheese!" only to shake their head and continue the strange ritual. they never actually got anything done that day.
