Prompt: to put it quite plainly; as same-sex lovers, these two lovely girls are unfortunately unable to have puppies together under normal circumstances, so this would be the perfect opportunity to give them a puppy! both are rather old but very loving ladies who really want to put someone under their wing to teach them about life, how to be a good boi or girl and just tell them funny stories of when they were younger - including the time thebe got banned from a pet store because she kept sneakily stealing something by hiding it in her mouth and only revealing it when they got home. now, their life seems rather boring, so a young energetic soul would be great to tell them new stories about their own prankster life!

Prompt: being a same sex pair, and magnus being sterile, a pup of their own has never been in the cards.

arcane saw magnus first: when the other collie was accompanying his previous owner at a show. despite usually being impeccably behaved, arcane slipped his handlers hold to go over and say hello, looking shy for all the world - a highly unusual occurrence for him, a dog who always seems to be full of quiet confidence. it became routine after that. if arcane caught a whiff that magnus might have been around, he'd find some way to escape the leash or kennel and go exploring until he found him, often stealing some sort of present along the way to further court his love; a meaty treat or a teddy, once even a shoe he wrestled off someones foot.

when magnus was in need of a new home, solas kennels was reached out to: everybody had noticed the bond between the boys. upon magnus's arrival, arcane got a case of the zoomies, needing the shed off the excess excitement at having his best friend and loved one at his home - and then it continued, as magnus swiftly joined in. the pair remained inseparable for the entire day, with one or the other giving anyone who came close the most baleful expressions as though someone might be coming to separate them. that never happened, of course, and where you find one, you'll find the other close behind.

though they've been together for a long time now, arcane still goes out of his way to bring magnus treasures as he did when he was courting him, always with a slow, shy wag of his tail. magnus in turn brings out arcane's playful side, easily roping him into silly games, and when they're tired is always the first to groom any of his fella's ruffled fur back into place. on cold days they can almost surely be found in one of the heated beds around the kennel grounds, snuggled as close as possible, sometimes with some of the younger solas collies sneaking in to cuddle up against them - and they certainly don't mind. magnus has a soft spot for drawing arcane into helping teach the pups of the kennel both manners and mischief.
