Swallowspring stretches, falling into downward dog. Her front legs pull forward to get a stretch along her side. She stretches out each leg individually next, then leaps up and down as a final step before warmup. To warmup, Swallowspring then jogs around the entirety of Scorchclan's camp. The other cats watch her curiously, the kits cheering for her as she passes by. With a grin, she finally slows and does one last series of stretches before the warmup is complete. Now, she's ready to swim. Some might consider that odd, that she doesn't actually swim to warmup, but each to their own.

Pikespine stretched out on the bank of the river, flexing out his paws and examining them. Despite being a kittypet originally, the old apothecary cat actually had slightly webbed paws! He assumed he got it from his parents who were feral cats, but never thought about it too much. He wasn't too sure that he was the best swimmer in the cats of the round table, but everyone else voted him to be the swimmer in the competition due to his fish related name and his paws. The cat was old, but he'd give it his best shot today. If things went wrong? Well, cheating in the competition was not off the table completely.. there were no rules about not biting competitors tail tips to surprise and slow them down.

Write 100+ words about the swimmer preparing: [149 words] Living near Cattiopeia's largest sea, known as Falgar, Pumpkin Cheeks is quite confident in her swimming abilities. Although her fur may be a little longer than others, and having a smaller stature than the average cat, Pumpkin Cheeks is agile and able to move her paws faster than most. She has been practicing for this swimming competition for months, despite the other commoncats gazing and snickering behind her back. The many days spent with an incredibly salty stench, mottled fur and sand in places she never knew didn't bother Pumpkin Cheeks in the slightest- it was a sacrifice she was willing to make. She had to prove to the other commoncats that her hard-work and dedication could led her to win this swimming competition. Getting into the right headspace was crucial, so blocking out the "white noise" from everyone else was something Pumpkin Cheeks learnt to do very well.

Write 100+ words about the swimmer preparing: Rock is stretching out trying to imitate the way his twoleg prepares for a surfing competition, he sticks one leggy out real far, then the other, then the other, then the last one. He tries to do a cobra position but his legs just done stretch that way and he ends up in a heap. He brushes himself off with a laugh not worrying about anyone seeing him and thinking that was silly. He then goes around making small talk, wanting to make friends at this competition if nothing else, winning doesn't matter as much as having fun! He hopes that at least Roll gets a kick out of watching him since the other kitty has been feeling under the weather.

"You can do it Tag!" Apprentices were swarming the dragon, making the poor tom feel unconfortable. A few adult cats were surrounding him as well, but not nearly as many, and they were all women, not his type.

He sighed, why did he choose to jump into this mess? who knows, but it was to late, stretching he pushed the youngsters lightly to the side jokingly, and stepped towards the mass of water. Not many of the Tailless Comet cats were really swimmers, as large bodies of water were typically avoided due to real dragons swimming in them. He flinched but only for a moment. He would win this race, he knew it in his own heart. With that, a loud roar bellowed out in an attempt to show his might.
