personality: Whimsy is utmost a whimsical wallflower. She's one to follow to the beat of her own hooves & her own heart. Better with conversing with herself than others, she still managed to create herself a wonderful nitty gritty group of tolts that get her perception & can understand who she is. In the human world Whimsy seemed standoffish, not fearful but observant & cunning. She never hurt anyone but if a fence is short enough for clearance, she's going to jump it and chase after the wind. All she really longed for was to gallop and nap in rich green pastures that were dappled in wildflowers. Her mother bringing her up as a well mannered filly, she would tell her 'attachments are silly. We live this life in the hands of man, the more well mannered you are, the better life may grant but don't expect it to.' it would peirce Whimsy's soul but all she would say is 'yes mother...' as her freeing desire burned deep down inside of her. And story be told, she never did let her mothers and the others words stop her. Her first time being in a better caring community, she didn't know how to accept it. But purely mesmerized she soaked all the love in and set herself free of the world's commands to just simply be.

personality: Of all the horses I've ever owned, this one has by far been the calmest and most easy-going. They act like they were born for trail-riding, having anticipated my directions based on just the slightest shift in my position while saddled up. Their favorite treats are anything flavored with molasses - yep, they love that sweet/savory flavor more than life itself, and there's nothing they wouldn't do for a treat! One of the only difficulties I've ever had with them is the fact that they just don't seem to ever want to stop! When it's time to go into the barn at night they will whicker and whinny as though calling out for their mother as a foal, and they've been known to prance in place - "fancy dancing" we call it - in an attempt to get one last pat and sweet word before bedtime. They absolutely love company and so I've gone and given them a little goat to socialize with them while in the stables, and this little friend now regularly grazes by their side in the fields as well.

personality: Although she is competitive (at nearly everything-including small things such as keeping the cleanest stall, being the first to finish feeding) this Tolter has a soft spot for kids. When she arrived, she was high-strung, anxious, and even mouthy! One day the owner of the stables brought their young granddaughter to visit. She approached the aforementioned mare but the grandparent shouted, warning her about the bad mannerisms- but she did not listen. The young girl began stroking the mare's face and muzzle, massaging her ears as well. The owner couldn't believe what they were seeing! The mare was completely relaxed- leg cocked, mouth droopy, eyes half closed. From then on, the mare was frequently used with younger riders. She is always gentle with them and very relaxed in their presence-but her competitive side is always just beneath dependent on her rider and especially when she's showing.
