Prompt: Peanut shivered as the cold wind blew through his kit fur, making him shiver uncontrollably. His mother licked the fur on his spine but that didn't help very much. Being born out in a moor as a helpless little tuft of skin and fur in the cold, open moor isn't really the best place. Peanut's mom, Havana, heard a noise. Something of a caw like a Sparrow but much louder and high-pitched. Peanut felt his mother jolt upright and walk over to the edge of their minature, messy camp, her eyes wide as the moon. But before Havana could respond to Peanut's helpless cry, the eagle dove down and snatched him and flew away, his mother yowling loudly behind him. Pinches in his side... he could barely breathe.

Something yowled. The cougar leaped at the eagle from a small cliff. The cougar managed to stretch out its claw and catch the eagle's wing, drawing it closer as it screeched in pain. Peanut dropped onto the ground beside the cougar as the big mountain cat finished off the eagle. It drew closer to Peanut and spoke, licking her jaws free of blood, "Hello there, kitten. I'm Lani."
