Back to the Past!

Kalon's Name: Scylla
Why are triangles so important to them?:

The 80s was a fun time. Everybody remembers the goofy hairstyles, cool music, and exciting atmosphere well. Scylla has been hoping to create a time machine for years and go 88 miles-per-hour back to the... oh wait, wrong script.

Scylla has been building a time machine back to the 80s, but it’s because she knows that some very important governmental secrets will fall into the wrong hands if she doesn’t alter the timeline a bit. She’s been fiddling with the design of her time machine but keeps finding that the most basic shape of the universe is not the circle as previously thought, but the triangle.

Her time pod is a geosphere made of a bunch of triangles welded together. Triangles dance on the pages of her notes, laugh at her from pages upon pages of quantum theory. Something about it’s all interconnected; she just needs to figure out what. She feels like she’s so close to finally finding the secret to getting back to the 80s and undoing all this mess, if she can only unlock one final principle that somehow boils down to the triangle. In reminder of her work, she sports the triangle on her ostomy bag in hopes that a breakthrough will happen and she’ll finally be able to unlock the secret to stopping this madness.

why are triangles so important to them?:
rewind. . . no, fast forward!
two bright triangles appeared in her vision as lumi floated in the void like every time before. sounds were muffled as she sat back and waited for it. . . to see what would become of her in 20xx. then, the world came into focus as she felt the sea engulf her being and she screamed rewind, rewind! to send her back. to put it simply, she’s a time traveler who see triangles everywhere with two constant triangles for rewind and fast forward with a constant date and time just barely out of sight. triangles symbolize her ability to move through time via what she sees when she travels. two triangles displaying over her vision

however, that’s not exactly why triangles are so important to her. they are a haunting reminder of that event and loop. she constantly sees them as she resets her timeline before the year 20xx. though events may continue on without her, she refuses to meet the fate laid on her path to the sea. it is now a constant cycle for her of dread and fear when she sees those two bright triangles, but she knows she’ll have to face her sea destiny one day. but, for now, triangles haunt her in her time traveling as she fears what happens if she lets the fates to lead her back to 20xx.

Why are triangles so important to them?:

Neil believes in many conspiracy theories. He never had many friends, so during his long and boring stays in hospitals he had a lot of time to think and research. He came to conclusion that the illuminati, reptilians, ancient aliens and many other things are very much real and everything is connected, like the three vertices of a triangle (which is suspiciously often associated with the illuminati...). The topic is fascinating to him, having something to occupy himself with is also nice.

This isn't, however, the true reason why many of his things have triangles on them. His greatest dream is to meet and befriend a fellow conspiracy theorist, maybe even become more than friends. They could theorize and search for the connections together. He pretends not to, but the truth is, he's quite lonely. He's not a fan of socializing and he's not good at it either, his social anxiety, awkwardness and spending a lot of time in hospitals certainly don't make it easier. He realizes that most people would think he's weird if he ever brought his beliefs up and being judged scares him, so he decorates many things he owns with triangles, hoping that one day a fellow conspiracy theorist will notice the meaning behind them and start a conversation.

Why are triangles so important to them?:
"Have you ever fallen in love?"

Summer's heard that question, or variations on it, more times than they can count. Every time, they said yes - and refused to elaborate. Because who - or what - they fell in love with was, perhaps, not what was expected. Summer, of course, wasn't interested in what was expected.

When they were nine, they fell in love with the earth. The planet and the nature filling it. More specifically, the patterns and shapes that were everywhere. Everyone claimed that the world was a whole thing, but Summer couldn't see the forest for the trees. No detail went unnoticed, every repeating square, circle and spiral became a solace. Their hospital room was filled with plants and crayoned drawings of the shapes they saw in them. When they left the hospital, their favourite nurse gave them a plant to keep. A succulent, and in its' leaves Summer saw triangles. Ever since then, triangles became a symbol of courage for them and a reminder to keep going.

Why are triangles so important to them?:

Cancer is the dirty spectre that’s been haunting her for years, but Moxy is a survivor that refuses to be a victim. The triangle represents to her the fact that her cancer treatment won’t last forever. She knows one day, she will be free from colon cancer. You see, all her gear that she uses is marked with triangles of all sorts, including her ostomy bag. Why? Because a circle never ends; it’s forever. But a triangle has three ending points. Just like the triangle has three ends, so will there come a day when her mind, body, and spirit will be free from the pain caused both the disease and treatment.

The bright colors of triangles she picks represents her own spirit to refuse to let the illness take over her life and to live life to the fullest right now, even with the diagnosis. She is determined to live boldly without any hesitation or restraint- to go camping, skydive, do sports (when her energy level allows for it), to hang out and socialize with friends. She is determined to live "outside the triangle" of that diagnosis, knowing one day she'll be healed. But until then, she is going to still live free. Why wait to live life? It takes a certain boldness, and perhaps a bit of moxy to see things this way, to see life as beautiful in spite of fear and pain. She feels that once she's cancer-free, triangles might symbolize something else: victory.

Alright, we really resonated with this one and so we had to choose you. Congrats! You will be added to the ref immediately so you can access everything. The ostomy bag is removable, so you can make your own bag-less ref, or use the one provided(the stash will be deleted eventually, so please save the image independently if you choose to use it.)
