why do they like it? Hallie loves Halloween! And with her spooky looks and natural eerieness, Halloween definitely loves her back! She doesn’t even need a costume with all those arms, and she always gets a ton of candy and compliments! She counts down the days for the fun, but when the festivities are over, she’s left with the age-old childhood mystery... what do you do with all that candy?

Some people try to eat it all alone, but she’s figured out a better trick to blowing through her candy stash. She bakes with it! She’s figured out a variety of recipes that she loves but keeps landing back on cookies. There’s just so much variety you can create with cookies! Her favorite are the peanut-butter-cup spiders! Creepy, sweet, (many-legged) and adorable, just like her!

She loves to bake these treats and eats them by the dozen! She knows she’ll feel crummy afterwards but self control is... just... so hard! Her spider cookies are just so easy to pop in your mouth! And they don’t keep for very long so once you make them, they’ve gotta go fast or risk going stale! Spider cookies capture that great peanut-butter and chocolate flavor in a rich little snack that pairs perfectly with something cold and refreshing to drink on hot days and a warm mug of coffee or cocoa in chilly weather.

Her friends and family have tried hiding them from her by putting them on a tall shelf, switching hiding spots, handing them out to friends, but she’s pretty crafty and manages to eat most of the batches she cooks! All those paws are essentially made for climbing and cookie-snatching!

It's puree red fruit mixed with honey like those Gerber fruit pouches they make for babies and toddlers.
why do they like it?
"I'm what you'd call, a foodie," Jimmy was shuffling in his kitchen while a small tan Kal with a blue little devil horn headband sat at his kitchen table scribbling down in a notebook, "I tend to be a bit gluttonous, I'll eat pretty much anything I can get my dirty little paws on" he chuckled.
"That's rather funny, Mr. Crimson" the other Kal noted with a sweet smile and a head tilt.
"What was your name again, dear?" he peeked around the corner of the wall into the open window that looked out into the dining room.
"Alice Queens" the Kal with the devil horn headband stated quickly. She seemed nervous and jumpy behind that sweet tooth smile, Jimmy noticed.
"Miss Queens, that's right..." he went back to his work, "I'm so glad you asked to do a report on me for your article, flattered really. Although, my own cooking is a bit short of the miraculous artworks I get to taste for my occupation as a food critic..." he dropped some raspberries, cherries, strawberries, and beetroot into a huge food processor.
"I'm sure you've tasted plenty of wonderful dishes, Mr. Crimson-"
"Please, call me James"
"James," Alice moved in her chair, "what exactly is your favorite food?"
Jimmy started up the processor for a few minutes, letting the ingredients liquefy before dumping it into a bowl and putting a very liberal amount of honey into it.
"My favorite food? Well you see, after a while solid foods tend to upset my stomach and can make me sick. So I like to make my own special puree..." he walked around the corner where he was pouring his fruit mix into a... Blood bag.
Alice stood knocking her chair, thinking it was real blood.
"Now, don't be making rash assumptions..."

why do they like it?
Greyson grinned, rolling his eyes as he formulated a response to the question. “Thought that one was a bit obvious mate, yea? There ain't much else ta eat out on the ocean… ‘less the rookie’s getting on yer nerves.”

“‘M Jus’ kiddin’ laddy, no reason ta look so scared. Yer white as a sheet!” Greyson followed flippantly, appearing to blow off the interviewer.

It was quite an odd situation Greyson had found himself in, nestled into a small cell in the port jail. Not that this was a first for himself, but it was the first time he had been holed up with a cell-mate so… annoying. Most only grunted a few words in response, uninterested in making friends with the foreign scalawag. Yet it seemed this time he had been paired with a naive crook, and one who hadn’t been caught before. The little kalon had wrinkles etched into his brow, and it was clear that Greyson’s rascally demeanor wasn’t the first of the kids worries.

Greyson shifted on the small bench in the holding cell, uncrossing his arms. “If ye’d like ta know the real reason, it’s ‘cause me maw made a mean batch ‘o fish. Dad was a sailor, always came home with somethin’…” Greyson paused, reminiscing. In that moment, a soft smile had come across his face.

“Maw was amazing. Sweet as pie, never a dull moment with her… she used ta dance around the kitchen, down the hall to small dining room table. Used ta be just the three of us, but there was plenty o’ food ta go around. She’s the reason fish’s my favorite. t’was always something new, everything she did was delicious.”

Greyson looked back at the newbie, noticing the guard unlocking the cell door, and winked. “I’ll see ya around champ.”

why do they like it? as a long-term sufferer of anxiety and depression,
comfort and happiness is something forrest considers incredibly desirable.
and thats exactly what banana splits symbolise for them: happiness! its an
incredibly comforting sweet dish. ice cream is the classic comfort food -- who
doesn't like crying into a giant tub of triple choc chip ice cream? and then there's
fruit, bananas, strawberries and cherries specifically! they go deliciously well
with ice cream and cream. to top off the already sickeningly sweet ingrediants,
you've got to add peanut crumbs and chocolate (and sometimes strawberry!) syrup.

together you have the ultimate comfort food. nothing like a banana split to wipe
away forrest's worries! sure, they usually end up in a food-coma on the couch, but
it's worth it. every. damn. time.

"K'now it's just- it's like- y'know? It's good, man." The four-armed kalon lays on his back, a pleasant smile on his face. "Trust me. I know it sounds gross, but that's part of the appeal! If I'm being completely honest with you, the first time I had it was because I fished it out of a dumpster. Not that I needed to- It was at a party when I was a kid. I mean, it wasn't a party I was invited to, but I showed up anyways. It was pretty fun, I tried to see how long it would take for someone to notice I was there." He stares blankly up at the ceiling, a doofy grin forming. "I got a little too ambitious with the pizza, I was getting hungry and I didn't want to call my mom to pick me up, so I waited until someone threw away their slice. Then- I went KABAM! WHAM! And I snuck in there and snatched the slice out of the bin. Only to see it had pineapple on it. I'd never had it before, it always sounded so gross," Sighing wistfully, he lazily pats one paw to the side until he finds a slice, and sits up. "But dang was it delicious! And for extra flavor?" Winking, he pulls out a bottle of ranch. "Delicious."

why do they like it?

Pizza Pizza Pizza Pepperoni Pizza!
Mizu has always adored the taste of hot sizzling to fridge cold pepperoni pizza.
She cannot get enough of it!

When she got her first taste of the delicious cheesy goodness was when her family moved to New York when she was just a tiny little girl.
They couldn't afford much at the time, but they treated themselves to some pizza in their new to them and empty apartment.

Not only does the taste make her as happy as watching fireworks, but it has a lot of sentimental value as it has been a meal she's had during so many important events in her life.
