Blackjack was abandoned by his mother when he was just a small pup. Surviving on his wits alone, he managed to grow into a rangy young adult whose mind was completely fixated above all on survival and not at all on manners. One day while scrounging for food he happened upon Rohi, who took pity on him and allowed him to polish off her entire meal, then went to fetch him a bone.

Blackjack was startled that a complete stranger would treat him so kindly! What reason could she possibly have for wanting to give up some of her own privilege and comfort for this dog whom she didn't know in the slightest? Curiosity brought him back time and again until one day he finally got up the courage to ask her.

"Rohi, why did you help me when I never helped you?"

She looked down at him and smiled tenderly. "But you did help me, Blackjack, because when I gave you my food and made sure that you were comfortable, you helped me to feel like I had a purpose."

Whilst Evangeline was growing up she had some anxiety whenever she was handled by her owners, she would squirm and wiggle in their arms and even yelped like she was in pain. She had many vet checks but nobody knew what was wrong with her, eventually they concluded that she must be just too sensitive to human touch because she even shyed away from being petted.

A few months later Daemon became a part of the family and the 2 young dogs instantly connected, there was never a moment where they were apart, they were eating, sleeping and playing together. With Daemon around, Evangeline seemed to change and become a new dog, more brave and trusting, even allowing her owners to pet her. Daemon loved to cuddle and be held by humans and it appeared that Evangeline could now see that it was not something to be afraid of. Over the next few months she gradually became closer to her humans physically and would cuddle in bed with them but only if Daemon was there to help her feel safe. It took a while after that for her to trust strangers touching her whilst they were out on walks but it seemed each day she was getting better and better with it, her owners were so pleased with her progress and how far she had come from when she was a puppy.

Masya was sleek and soft and beautiful, and Alina was just as gorgeous but her dark color and heavy ticking contrasted to Masya's warm glow and striking blue eyes.
Not everyone saw the beauty in Alina.
"She looks muddy, she must be a street dog."
"Is she even a purebred?"
But true beauty starts from within, and Alina shone bright both on the inside and outside. Masya knew instantly that Alina had a heart of gold, and did not let any of the mean snarls get to her. Had it not been for the difference in the way they looked, nobody would think twice in assuming they were littermates. They compliment each other, like the flowers and the trees, and neither one is fully complete without the other. Masya can be a little uptight and energetic, but Alina makes sure to bring her back to reality. And if Alina is ever feeling insecure, Masya can instill a fierce confidence in her with a mere glance.
The duo can often be found soaking in the afternoon sun together in the wildflower fields, or playing with the other dogs in the kennel. No matter what, they always know they have each other.
