It was dusk when Atiena had decided to go outside for the final time. The pup strolled over to the back door and let out a slight yip to be heard. Cassie gave a soft laugh and said “alright girl, last time before bed. C’mon y’all potty break!” She called through. The pack of dogs tumbled over one another as they shouldered past the door. Atiena gave it a moment before prancing behind the pack; happy to not have been trampled. Atiena found a nice quite area not to far off from the house. Just enough light to see where she was going but not to much for some privacy. She happily sniffed around looking for the perfect spot. As she continued to sniff, she gave a sniff one good time and sniffed a twig in her nose! Grumpy from the intruder, she began to sneeze trying to get it out from her nose. As she pawed at the stick she was able to knock it loose and come out. Hmph, what an odd looking stick it was. She bent down to further investigate. As she did that she saw part of it began to move. She leapt up in shock at the moving stick. Maybe it was just a play on shadows? She crept closer to see, when in fact the moving stick became a live bug Atiena let out a loud shriek. Taking off towards the house, in the process she ended up tinkling on herself. She struggled back up the deck towards Cassie. Yelping with each step.

Alecks was out in the field, playing with sticks. He loved having them thrown, and retrieving them, but sometimes he played alone. He would chew on the sticks, and toss them about. He went to grab a nearby twig, but started barking in surprise when it moved, before he'd even touched it!
The stick looked a bit weird, now that he'd taken another look... This stick had legs! And it smelled funny!
The stick swayed back and forth, as if taunting him. He continued to bark at it. This was no stick, this was a stick insect!
It still looked great to play with, though... But maybe his big jaws might break the fake stick before even being able to play with it. He gave it one last sniff before running off to find a stick for suitable for tossing about.

    congrats!
