The laterns light went from a bright glow to a dull flicker as the timer turned off for the night.
and from there on, he was off into the shadowed cape of darkness to find himself food and temporary shelter.
He was on the run, unknowing of what he was actually running from. All he felt was an overwhelming sense of dread that kept him on his toes and away from his home town. He could never settle in one place because that dread always managed to catch up to him. time and time again.
At first, it was exhausting, but he learned to get used to it, and it became a cycle. Sleep through the day, scavenge, and go back to running at night.

After his adventure, the feeling of dread slowly melted away as the sky faded from its blanket of darkness to a calming light blue.
And like that, His exploration came to an end, waiting for another day to pass by.
