NLR #007 || WINNER

Postby cervidae » Tue Dec 15, 2020 8:45 am

    hey! ♡ thank you for being so patient with me! everyone's entries were so engaging, and I can honestly say this had to be the most difficult comp i've ever judged!

    it is for that reason that i'd like to personally acknowledge everyone who participated, so first a few words:
    Bunnila - I really enjoyed this form, the concept as a whole was executed so well. I love the callback to the word "nothing" at the end, it's such a neat literary trick!

    Coraly - something about the way this form was written made me feel so warm and fuzzy. it took me back to being read bedtime stories of an adventurous character, and learning a lesson at the end of it. your writing style is wonderful, and the way you orchestrated this little snippet of whipp's life? exquisite

    drambuie - this was an incredible form, from the name to the story, to the faint echo of a memory towards the end - both this concept, and your writing as a whole are absolutely fantastic, and i can't wait to see what you do next ♡

    Chaotic_Affection - another incredible form! the concept alone was so strong here, the detail, the description, i could feel ophelia's heartache, and the names you chose were lovely both in origin and in meaning (ophelia is a fav. of mine)

    willowbear - short and sweet, it really makes you appreciate parenthood, and the pain of letting a loved one leave the nest

    regnfall - this feels so reminiscent of a fable, and i love it! something that made her one of a kind -- that phrase was so.. rewarding. self love is a thing that many people struggle with -- but this form reminds me that even if it is a struggle, it is always possible. ♡

    TC Latest Rage
    - the sort of dedication expressed in your form is something that i really admire! to never lose hope for something so precious to you

    rem sleep - this was such a warm form, if that makes sense. the type of warmth from drinking a hot cup of cocoa, or curling up by the fire. the type of warmth from holding another close -- and it's such a powerful feeling here! this form reminds me that even though you may feel alone, you never truly are, and that's such a precious thing to be reminded of <3

    and finally, the winner is LemonBunny!
    i kept coming back to your form! The way you impeccably illustrated every little piece of Snickerdoodle's life.. it made me feel as if i were there too, i were experiencing that type of wonder and delight.
    you've been added ♡
