favorite thing about halloween: Trevor loves Halloween because it is the one time of year (other than April Fools) where he can really let his creative (though some might argue "destructive" would be a better word) energies flow. He loves to cause mischief and the sound of momentary surprise and terror are his delight.
About a week before Halloween he starts gathering supplies and hides himself away in the attic, preparing his new trick. It is always elaborate and unique to the point where people will come by just to see the result, even if they end up being it's target.
However, Trevor never intends to cause any lasting harm with his pranks. Unfortunately, there have been some accidents where he has gone too far and has left a few emotional and physical scars behind.
But he has always been genuinely sorry and done his best to make up for them. Also, he learns from his mistakes and never repeats them.

favorite thing about halloween: Cavern's favorite thing about Halloween is the baking he used to do with his family. Every Halloween they'd get together and make roasted pumpkin seeds, caramel apples, pumpkin pie cheesecake bars, snicker doodles decorated like pumpkins and mummies and ghosts, and other creative sweets. His favorite is the 3 tier pumpkin cinnamon spice cake just him and his mom would make, and they'd decorate it to look like a haunted hill with lots of trick or treaters, and then they'd bring it to the rest of the family and then share some with trick or treaters. He hasn't seen his family since the pandemic, but this year he's still making that cake to remember his family by, even if he has to eat it alone.

favorite thing about halloween: the decorations! obscura gets extremely competitive
about their decorations every year, and always tries to one-up their last biggest splendor.
are they competing more against themselves, or their poor neighbors who don't stand a
chance? who knows, maybe not even obscura themselves does-- but they get a real kick
out of decorating the house for the spooky time of year! from purple and red string lights
to all manner of carved pumpkin and obscura's handmade faux monsters-- there's nothing
obscura loves more than decorating! of course, this goes hand-in-hand with being able to
show off said decorations as trick-of-treaters come through on the halloween night itself!
