Name: Apep
Pronouns: They/Them
Entr(y/ies):
Apep was never meant to leave.
To escape.
To steal air from the mortals.
But he did. He's out there. And he doesn't want to be caught.
But it wasn't a disaster before. There was a story before he escaped.
He was a beautiful creation. Handmade by the stars themselves. They were proud of their child. Apep wanted to make them proud. He tried his best. He tried to make a perfect land for the mortals. But it was dangerous. Too dangerous for their fragile bodies. So many died because of his mistake. He was so ashamed. Why was he so stupid?
The stars gave him another chance. They said they were still proud of him. They gave him hope. He promised he'd do better this time. And he did do better. The mortals loved it. The stars were proud. He was proud. It was perfect.
After months of watching the mortals - his mortals - he wanted more. He wanted them to be aware that he made this. That Apep gave them everything they wanted. Everything they needed. He made that. They needed him.
He gave them signs. They didn't listen. That irritated him. Did they really need more proof? That their master wanted them to recognize him? Fine.
He showed himself to them. They were afraid. Why were they afraid? They attacked him. Drove him out. They would regret that.
They were afraid of him, they would be afraid of everything he made then. He looked at his first creation. He took the danger and made it worse. Much worse. The mortals would see that he could be much scarier.
And they were afraid. It made him happy. He turned to the stars. They should be proud. But they weren't. They were disgusted. Why? He did everything right. He showed the mortals how to respect him.
The stars were wrong. He showed them. He hurt them. They were just like the mortals. Useless and puny.
Then they trapped him. Behind his back. From surprise. Like the cowards they were. He was kept alone. And his hatred festered. He came up with a thousand plans for revenge. Against the mortals. Against the stars. Against everyone.
After countless years, the stars started slacking. The chains were rusting. The mortals forgot. He didn't. He was waiting. He struck. Took the stars by surprise. Like they did to him. He ran. His powers had drained after all that time. But he could still hide. Wait for his time. With the mortals. He ran to the mortals. They found him. Took him in. The idiots. They didn't even question him.
hoo boy this took a while to write. but it was fun :D this is the first draft so i might change some things later :/

name - emissary
pronouns - he / they
go - Emissary, often called simply emi, is a confusing specimen, to be sure. he's always engaging in risky behavior-- the kind that could kill him, if he isn't careful. the thing is, emi's convinced he knows when he's going to die-- that a deity told him so, and proved they knew what they were talking about-- his date and time fo death were, the deity said, set in stone, not flexible regardless of his dearest wishes. it was fate-- it was cosmic-- he would die then, and only then, and there was no sense in running from the inevitable. why it had come to tell him, emi never knew-- he asked, but it would not answer. maybe it just wanted to ruffle his feathers, or watch him squirm. maybe he had something he needed to do, and didn't know it yet. emi never figured it out, and is still wondering about it to this day. Though because of emi's set expiration date-- he doesn't mind risking his life, because he knows when it's set to end, and it won't a moment sooner. so emi runs around taking crazy risks, doing crazy things and living life on the edge-- all because he knows there won't be any real consequences until a certain day, at a certain time-- when he'd die whether he had a wild life or a calm one. at first emi was horrified by the news, and it took him several weeks of total isolation and despair before he realized that, instead of waiting for death to come to him, he could challenge it-- and could live his life with reckless abandon because his expiration date was set in stone. it's... more or less how he copes with knowing that his life will expire, and when. To be quite honest, it freaks him out-- he thought that maybe if he had enough brushes with death, it'd stop terrifying him so much-- but his fear still hasn't subsided, and he's been at this daredevil lifestyle for awhile now. He's hoping maybe soon-- maybe then it'll work! He still has some time before the end of the line-- and he doesn't want to be shaking in his boots when death comes to meet him. He also wants to be a person so outlandish, that people have to remember him-- one of his largest fears, outside just dying-- is being forgotten, which in his opinion is almost worse. If he makes enough sensational stories and news with his near-death stunts-- maybe even after he's gone, he'll live on in someone's memory-- in some story book or maybe even a text book-- but he doesn't want to fade away into obscurity.
