Buttermilk: Koromo
Prompt: She blinked surprised as she held her hooves out delicately and slowly nodded her head as she processed what Sorrel asked of her, in all honesty she had come to the greenhouse to get some flowers, now she is here with seeds in her hooves and request had been made. However could she say no? She chuckled sheepishly and nodded her head, "A-Ah sure." She said, she didn't want to correct her that she perhaps mistook her for someone else. She looked at the empty pots, the soil and the seeds softly and thought about it. "Okay so... first... soil yes?" She looked up and blinked surprised to find Sorrel was gone again. She shrugged and puts the seeds down gently and delicately filled the pots trying to be careful to only fill them half way. She then put the seeds inside and then poured the soil in some more and gently patted them down before she grabbed the watering can and started to water them gently. "W-Well I hope I did that right..." Koro said softly.

Buttermilk: Aria - no barn link yet. Will edit once I set it up.
    Prompt: (208 words)
Aria watched as Sorrel headed off to another part of the greenhouse to tend to the plants that have already matured. She looked in her hand, a jumble of seeds. All the same kind but some in varying lengths and sizes. She smiled as she set them aside on the table and began prepping the pots. She lined all the pots ina straight row, put on her gloves and was ready to go. She shovelled up a bit of dirt to loosen up the soil and make a hole. After, she plopped a few seeds into the hole and covered it back up. Aria did it with great care, not wanting to drop a seed or crush it on accident.
Her eyes were set, following the movements of her hands as she carefully handled the seeds. She covered them up, pot after pot and soon, she was done. She wiped the sweat off her forehead with a sigh and looked for the watering can. Aria’s eyes set on a little blue elephant-shaped watering can and picked it up. It was slightly heavy, noting the water inside. She lightly drizzled over each pot, careful not to overwater them. Afterwards, she set the can down and smiled. She felt accomplished.

Buttermilk: Antheia (I dont have a barn page yet
Prompt: Antheia smiled at Sorrel as she placed down the terracotta pot and bag of soil. Antheia tilted her head slightly as Sorrel reached into her pocket and pulled out a fist full of seeds handing it off to her. She smiled down at the seeds and gently placed them on the ground beside her. She looked up again as Sorrel spoke, “Could you plant these for me? I spend so much time tending for the plants that I already have that I don’t have enough time to plant new ones and look after the sprouts!”

Antheia nodded and politely answered, “Of course I would love to plant these seeds, I wouldn't even mind coming back every day to tend to them either!” She focused back on the terracotta pot and she wiggled in delight. She grabbed the bag of soil and opened it, slowly and carefully shaking the blackish soil into the pot until it was filled about three fourths of the way. She picked up the seeds still unaware of what they were and hopefully she could find out soon. She placed a few of them gently onto the soil and then pressed them into it. She picked the bag of soil backup and placed a layer of soil on top of the slightly buried seeds. She looked around the greenhouse trying to find a source of water so she could pour it over them to feed the seeds. As she looked around she spotted a silvery watering can. She picked the put over which was a slightly unsafe idea and brought it over to the watering can. She gently placed the pot down on the table that the watering can was resting on and peered inside to make sure there was water in it and sure enough there was! She picked up the watering can with both of her hands and tipped the can slightly and watched as the water poured out through little holes.

Buttermilk: Bloom <3
Prompt:
Bloom begins to grin, matching the other heifer’s. Her tail swishes in excitement at an opportunity to give a helping hand and assist in making new life. Despite Bloom’s admiration for flowers and plants in general, she has never had the chance to grow her own, and instead opted for taking long walks through her favourite places to find flowers. There were never any supplies left around the barn that she could use, but now that the farmer’s market was in town and all the cattle were allowed to be out and exploring, Bloom saw her chance when she stumbled upon the greenhouse at the end of the cobblestone path.

Bloom took the supplies she was given with glee and moved it over to a quiet corner in the greenhouse. She set down the terracotta as gently as possible, trying to ignore the way it would grind on her teeth. Bloom sprinkled a little bit of gravel she found into the bottom of the pot, to try and hold more moisture and increase humidity for the sprout to enjoy when it grows its roots. Although Bloom never previously had the chance to grow a plant, she has picked up some tips and tricks while watching others and this had been one of them.

She reached for the small bag of soil and carefully poured most of it into the clay pot, breathing in deeply and catching the fresh, earthy smell of the soil in her nostrils. Still leaving some of the soil in the bag, Bloom gingerly scooped up the smooth seeds she had left on the ground in her teeth and placed them delicately on the surface of the soil, pushing them in just slightly. She then poured the remainder of the soil from the bag into the pot, creating a thin blanket over the seeds before ever so tenderly packing the soil with her soft, pink muzzle, her ears flopping forward.

The heifer glanced around until her eyes landed on a small yellow watering can. She trotted over and retrieved it, pouring just enough water into the pot to dampen the soil. Bloom beamed down at the little pot, “There you go, now you have a chance to reach your full potential. I can’t wait to see you grow!”

Buttermilk: Gemma
Prompt:

Gemma blushes, overwhelmed with the tiny seeds in her palm.  "Oh. Okay," she agrees haltingly.  The little clay pot is simple and plain, and the black and white heifer dumps the bag of dirt in it - one handed.

Mistake number one.

It overflows the little pot and spills out onto the table.  Gemma looks to Sorrel for help but the other bovine seems to have dissappeared.

"Sorrel?" she squeaks, hand tightening to a fist around the seeds. The pile of dirt looms like a miniature mountain - she surely couldn't plant them with that there. With careful movements she sets the seeds at the edge of the table, then turns back to the mess.

She scoops up soil handful by handful, back into the bag from whence it came, until the pot is mostly even. Gemma wipes her cheek with the back of hand. A smear of dark earth is left in the wake. Her nose itches so suddenly that she can't stop the sudden sneeze. Her hip bumps the table and it's all she can do to grab the pot that is careening.

"Mercy," Gemma breathes. The clay pot is put back in place. This whole planting thing is much harder than it looks. "Now for the seeds."

Except...

They're not there.

"No, no, no," Gemma breathes, searching the floor in a panic. She scrambles and scrapes and crawls around until, at last, the seeds are found! She would not let them excape again! With that, she pushes each seed into the dirt, extremely proud and unbearably exhausted. "Now what?" Her mouth is dry, she's suddenly thirsty - ah! "Water!" Gemma is extremely careful carrying a water can to her precious potted seed, and exceedingly gentle as the water trickles down. No more mistakes.

She leans low to the pot, the soil soaking up the little makeshift rainshower happily.

"Now, what will you be?"

    Buttermilk: Crowley
    Prompt:
Is your buttermilk excited to help out Sorrel? How does planting the seeds go?
Crowley was not impressed. There was a lack of discipline that simply wouldn't do. What did that ivy think it was doing climbing halfway up the wall like that? And those chrysanthemums were going to get a complex if they were given too much more freedom. The gall of them all. Despicable. If it was their greenhouse these plants would get a- oh, right. It wasn't theirs. Right, well, they could rot then for all they cared. This wasn't where they had been meaning to go anyway and it'd be a waste of time for them to go through their usual plant based theatrics.

Except the cow that approached seemed to have other ideas. Crowley stared, brow raising, a snarky comment on their tongue as a strange cow approached, thrusting seeds at them, asking them to 'look after them' as if that was the solution here. Fine, but this little cow might want to be careful what she asked for. Crowley took the sprouts with nothing more than an huff, and moved over to fight the best place they could for them. The rest happened out autopilot, their body falling into the old rhythm of planting something new, and soon enough they had given these little seedlings the ideal set up. After all, they couldn't complain if they were given every chance they could right? Once they were satisfied, Crowley sat up properly and gave them one least hissed threat, "You'll grow if you know what's good for you."

buttermilk: buona!
prompt: being the only heifer at snowdrift vale (but not the only resident; there were several sheep that wandered around), buona was well versed in hard work. at snowdrift vale, all year around there was snow except a few brief months in summer which is the only time the 14 greenhouses were not the only source of food at snowdrift vale. the night cow was in charge of all 14 houses, their main caretaker. the 9 months of winter, spring, and fall where there was snow, buona worked tirelessly with soil and always came out with dirt caked onto her hide at the end of a long day. when sorrel asked her to help, her eyes lit up instantaneously! working with plants was buona's speciality and she was more than eager to assist the cow. "yes! i'll plant them all. i've got lots of experience, so don't worry about me messing it up." she let out a light laugh and her tail swished against the ground as she prepared to gather the seeds and plant them for her new friend. after all, anyone who worked hard and specialized in plants was bound to be regarded in the best way. buona finds it hard to relate to other buttermilks, but with something to talk about, she was definitely drawn to sorrel and excited to spend a few days with her; even if it was just to help nurture plants. "let's get digging!" she enthused. after a few hours of painstaking work and sore hooves, nearly all the seeds had been planted (some didn't fit in the space they had) and there were no accidental spills of fertilizer or soil which was always a plus considering buona's clumsy nature. "i think they'll grow nicely," the night cow said with a gentle look in her eyes. "we'll have to wait and see."

    Buttermilk: Cybele
Prompt: A small red blush rises from Cybele's cheeks and she lowers her head, sheepishly accepting the seeds and backing away slowly. Giving a polite nod, she hurries around a corner, out of the bubbly heifer's sight. If it's not Avalon being loud and bubbly, Cybele wants no part of anyone's enthusiasm. She felt all her nerves melt away as she stared at the empty clay pot in front of her. The sense of familiarity and knowing made the young heifer feel right at home. She set to work, zoning out as she prepared the soil, turning it over and dampening it. She wanted to make sure it'd be the perfect home for her new plant to flourish. She didn't even notice she had begun to hum until the seeds were tumbling into the pot, and she immediately beamed in pride at her work. It wasn't much of an achievement for the heifer, but she was glowing in joy regardless. The black and white heifer gazed around the greenhouse to find a spot for her plant, in awe of the ivy crawling up the glass and the well tended plants lining the shelves and floor. Despite how pretty it was, nothing really stuck out to Cybele, and determined to find the right spot for her new companion she went on an adventure, completely forgetting to tell Sorrel where she was headed to.

Buttermilk: Thalia
Prompt:
Excited to help? Uh. Well. Thalia didn't really consider herself to have much of a green thumb, but if Sorrel needed help than she was willing to give it a shot... and hopefully not destroy anything in the process.

Right. How did planting seeds work, exactly?

Her adoptive mom, Beverly, loved plants, and toiled away consistently to turn Cherry Creek's flower beds into the beautiful patches of greenery that they were. But Thalia couldn't remember much of her advice now- Phoebe was the one who had spent the most time doing plant-y things like this, not her.

She should probably start by finding a pot, Thalia figured. Also some dirt. And a shovel- or, no, a trowel. That's what the little mini potting tools were called, if she remembered right.

It wasn't too hard to find a clean empty pot to house the seeds, and Thalia got her chosen one- a round pot, painted an inviting shade of robin's egg blue- to a low table without incident.

Next came pouring the dirt- that was a bit messier than she'd intended; Thalia may or may not have yelped in shock as she tilted the bag of soil too far over and caused a mini avalanche over the pot. Glancing around furtively to make sure nobody had seen, she caught sight of another one of Sorrel's helpers using her trowel to shovel soil in. That... made sense. It was a decidedly less messy course, and Thalia wondered why she hadn't thought of it before.

Once her pot was cleaned up and neatly filled with soil, Thalia dug a series of small divots in the soft brown surface with her trowel, and buried all of the seeds a few inches deep, spaced around the pot. Hopefully they'd all grow in okay, she thought.

And lastly, she topped the freshly-potted plants off with some water. No way was she going to let them shrivel and die after all the trouble she went to, getting them all nicely set up in their pot!

    Buttermilk: Nessa
    Prompt:
When approached with the task of planting seeds, Nessa jumped on the offer. She had always loved flowers but had never had someone teach her the intricate art of growing them. Neither of her parents had a knack for planting and most cows didn't trust the clumsy heifer with their precious plants anyways. Plus, getting some good old-fashion work done could help keep her mind off the sad thoughts that had been creeping up lately. While planting, Nessa inevitably spilled seeds everywhere, but quickly shook it off when the heifer next to her smiled at her kindly and helped her clean them up. Though the time spent in the greenhouse was perhaps shorter than Nessa would have liked, she thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, even promising to herself she'd come back soon to learn a bit more. Sometimes the best way to heal is to spend time on something that makes you happy.
