Prompt;;
When it comes to the warriors den, its the WORST spot to be during a rain storm. Especially when your clan is right next to a literal waterfall. The ground level consists of the warriors den, elders den, and nursery, but the elders den is behind a rock, so that blocks most of the rain, and the nursery is so compact with basically armor, being brambles, branches, mud, and thick leaves, that the water doesn't come through. But the warriors den? Nope. There is nothing protecting them from rain besides being far enough back in a cave that they won't really get wet. Unless it floods.
When the warriors den floods, Misttail groggily opens her eyes only to find herself laying in about an inch of water. She groans, but doesn't get up, for as you see, Misttail doesn't mind water. She loves it actually and its her strong suit when fighting. So being soaked doesn't annoy her, what annoys her is the fact that the other cats in the warriors den are making such a fuss about water.
Of course being the "noble" cat she is, she shoves them all out to go get moss or something to soak up the pool of a den. The cats groan and complain but Misttail just shoos them away so she can go back to sleep.
So, when the warriors den gets flooded, Misttail makes her clanmates do the work so she can get more sleep.

Age;; 7 Moons

Rank;; Apprentice

Prompt;;
Marlinpaw, if his den were to flood, would freak out, which is quite a reasonable reaction to a surge of water suddenly appearing from the salty water. Marlinpaw's mother, Tealflower, drowned when Marlinpaw was young, leaving the tom traumatized around water. He can't even stand near the ocean that is surrounding the island TideClan makes their home on. He would freeze up, unable to process what he should do next, and probably drown due to the inability to escape. Unfortunately one of the flaws of Tideclan is that their camp is made in a cave with many tunnels leading underground, but not enough for every cat to get out. Whenever it floods and cats aren't aware there is always death. That's one of the other reasons Marlinpaw hates water and wouldn't be able to escape with the flood. The fear would destroy him.

      Prompt;;

      Palepaw came out of his den, with his long fur soaking wet from his paws to the tip of his tail. He was lucky he didn't drown in the large pool of water that made its way in. The storm it hard for the clan, taking some dens down and even flooding some. Sadly he was one of them.

      Soon he heard fast pats on the stone floor, as he looked over to see Ivyflower running over. "Palepaw!" she said, stopping at the tip of his nose, as he flinched back a little. "Oh." Ivyflower looked at him, seeing his fur dripping with water. "Tell your mother I want a new den. Anywhere that not low on the ground," he said looking at Ivyflower with a small pout to his face. Ivyflower couldn't help from letting out a small laugh, as she looked into his den. "gosh! you could have drowned" as she pulled her head out from the den.

As Stonestream wakes from his dreamless sleep by a sudden feeling like he couldn’t breathe, sputtering as he scrambled to his paws to see his makeshift den submerged just a little above his paws. Disappointment was brief as he heard the heavy pattering of rainfall outside on the dirt above him, slightly muffled with the layer of dirt above. He couldn’t say he didn’t expect it, considering that he’d just scavenged out the den, only digging a little nest for himself. He had been proud of his small additions to neaten it and it was disappointing, but his attention changed to a slight panic and concern as the water continued rising. He wasn’t much of a river cat himself, but he didn’t hate the water, reluctantly trudging his way up and out into the pounding rain that made his long fur heavy. The thick layer kept him mostly warm, though he doubted that would keep for long. Sighing, he grumpily started looking for somewhere else to spend his night as he journeyed closer to OwlClan’s territory.

Clan;; GladeClan
Rank;; Warrior

Prompt;;
[ 436 ]

Mudspots woke with a start, the mossy bed that was once dry and comforting now soaked with mud. The den was empty apart from Mudspots, paw prints leading out of the den - which was blocked. The entry to the den had caved in, small rocks tumbling down each second. Mudspots' first thought was that she was suffocating, the air in her lungs fading away into a void. Sitting upright, Mudspots noticed the trickle of water in the rocks flowing into the den. The air was thick, making Mudspots dizzy. Pawing at the trickle, it began to grow in size. It was as if the whole of the hollow had been swallowed by water. Mud engulfed Mudspots legs, trapping her in place. She was stuck.

Mud and water squelched as Mudspots raised her legs. The thick liquid substance had now engulfed her stomach completely, her fur slick. The water swashed against the den walls, dirt, and mud crumbling downwards and into the thick mud. Pawing at the water and rocks, Mudspots shoved herself against it, shifting the rocks and opening the hole more. Once more, Mudspots shoved herself against the rocks. With a loud splash, the rocks fell and water flooded into the cave, engulfing Mudspots whole. Mudspots felt her whole body shudder in agony as a rock tumbled onto her paw before it sunk to the ground. Paws churning, Mudspots willed herself to survive, ignoring the unbearable pain in her paw.

The whole of the hollow was full of water. Rain threw itself onto the ground, with the occasional thunder. Mudspots had tired, reaching the top of the water yet feeling as if she could sink at any moment. There was no cat in sight, and the edges of the hollow were too slick with mud to help her up. With a yowl, a cat came skidding forwards. Mudspots could barely see her saviour, not until she was out of the water.

"Mudspots? Mudspots!" The cat pawed Mudspots, awaiting her awakening. Mudspots yawned, immediately choking. Her mouth tasted of salt and dirt. Memories floated through her mind, reminding her of her near-death encounter. She blinked, her gaze blurry. Adjusting, Mudspots found her savior was Cinderstar.
"C - Cinderstar.." Mudspots croaked, smiling.
"Mudspots," Cinderstar huffed, relieved. "I was correct to think a cat was stuck in the hollow." Cinderstar looked up. "The other clan members are checking the hollow. I'll grab the medicine cat." She finished. Mudspots nodded, and Cinderstar disappeared. What a day, Mudspots wondered. Cinderstar appeared once more with the medicine cat, who immediately began sorting through their herbs and checking Mudspots all over.

Prompt;;
Clamglow sighed as she woke up to her favorite bedding, the large soft mullein leaves she had just picked yesterday, were floating away from her. There was standing water in her den. Again. Normally Clamglow loved the water, she did a majority of her hunting in the lake, but it wasn't exactly pleasant waking up partially submerged.

Clamglow stood up and gave each of her paws a shake. She couldn't exactly be angry, it was her own fault this was happening. She chose to make her den under the bush furthest down the hill, closest to the lake. The water normally didn't get this high, but there was a lot of rain this newleaf so now, every time it rained, Clamglow dealt with a flooded den. She sighed once more as she watched the last of her bedding float out of her den and into the lake. Maybe it was time to move dens. She watched as some minnows that wandered in nibbled at her paws. With a swipe of her paw, she scooped the minnows out and threw them on the ground. They would make a nice treat for the clan kits at least.

Fennel sat up just as soon as it had sunk in; her entire underbelly and legs were damp, and now, caked with mud and wet moss. She was aggravated, but not surprised; it had been remaining a lot, and the low-and-swampy ground of the places nearby her easily made the surrounding regions flood.

Steady drops fell onto her face from above as soon as she stood up. The bushes were thick above her, with the moss adding to the shelter- but not enough to stop the water flow all together. She scowled up at it and began to try and readjust herself to the drier parts of the bush, when an eerie, slooshing sound made her look behind her.

A form had flopped at the entrance. The slooshing was the slapping of the water around the form as it rippled away. In the early morning's light, she could only make out it's shape, illuminated by what little sun was to be had through the heavy clouds. The color- and what it was- was less evident. Her fur began to bristle as she walked towards it, courageously, considering the mystery, and the fact her sense of smell was muddied by the soaked plants and recent illness.

She let out a small breath as she grew closer and paused. It was a cat- she let herself move closer, cautiously watching the rise and fall of it's labored breathing. She caught a metallic taste in her mouth as she took in a breath to better catch the scent of this cat; it was injured and bleeding, somewhere, although she coudn't see it.

She bent over the cat and let out a small whimper of horror as she focused on the face. The sound was an understatement, considering the case.

It was herself.

- - -

"Fennel, the den's flooding again! Hop to it!"

Fennel sat up, taking in a shaky and spluttering breath as she awoke from the nightmare. A shivering running down her spine, she looked down at her paws and legs to see the announcement was correct; it actually had begun to flood.

"Third... third time this week." She said shakily, slowly getting to her feet and composing her nerves.

"... We should move before we risk them getting worse... someone could get hurt."
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

A string of curses left Bluejay’s mouth as he woke up for the sound of steadily flowing water and just as steadily soaking into his pelt. Eye’s blinked open to catch the morning light leaking into the small opening of the temporary den, water coming in the opposite, behind him as it slowly filled the area. Waterlogged and dripping wet Bluejay rose to his feet and climbed the now muddy sides of the den, slipping through the small opening and into the morning sun outside.

“You look like a drowned rat,” Lochness called from somewhere off to his left, the spy attempting to make a joke but having it fall flat. Maybe that was the point though, Bluejay found no amusement in this.

“Why didn’t you wake me up?” Bluejay growled out to the older tom, ears flicking back almost flat on his head to show his irritation.

The older tom only shrugged before slipping back the wet cat to look down in the den letting out a low whistle at the water coming up. It was flowing in more steadily now, filling the area where they’d slept the past few nights and threatening to spill out of the opening.

“I didn’t know,” Loch answered truthfully before flicking his tail to the rabbit laying where he’d been just moments before. “I went out hunting and there was no sign of water coming in then. I didn’t wake you because there was no reason to.”

Bluejay sighed as the spies answer, body relaxing before he tried to shake off the water still dripping from his pelt. “That means it’s started then doesn’t it?”

Loch simply nodded at first before looking to the river out past the den, the rushing water they’d been sent to watch, to wait. “It means the banks are breaking just like Siren said was happening further upriver. Probably due to the snowmelt being heavier this year, we’ll have to keep cats away from it until it stops travel to the lake for water.”

“The kits and elders won’t be able to travel easily to the lake.” Bluejay countered.

“We can’t trust the river right now, it’s the only option.”

“Let’s go tell Kestrelstar was we found after I dry off.”

Did you forget me so soon?
The one who made you,
turned you into this monster?
How sad.

Though I guess it's to be expected,
you always liked to block things out.
If it didn't make sense in your mind,
you just forgot about it.

But maybe it's because I didn't,
make you into a monster that is.
You already were a monster,
weren't you?
