Prompt:
The sun had just risen and Icarus stepped out to see Snakebite speaking with Kestrelsnap, going on about something... Those two always seemed to be up to something, he noted, also taking note of their smug grins as they lounged under the sun. Icarus stared for a moment, at Snakebite, at the cat who betrayed his own brother, the one who repeatedly called his brother a traitor to Fadedclan.
Snakebite looked to him and glared, and Icarus went rigid and turned away, heading over to the fresh-kill pile, trying desperately to look interested, but in reality, he didn't want to see the nasty looks Kestrelsnap and Snakebite were giving.
Later in the day after Icarus had done his hunting, Snakebite began to saunter up to him, venom dripping from his gaze.
"Hey- uh... Snakebite" Icarus took a step back, looking around for where Kestrelsnap could be, but she was nowhere in sight.
"You keep staring at me, it's freaking me out, Waxwing, and I don't like it when people stare" he snarled, baring his teeth and Icarus looked away.
"Well maybe I want to keep an eye on you"
"Why? why me? huh?"
"because you're suspicious!" Icarus snapped and Snakebit reeled back in hostility.
"Or maybe because you hate your own brother!" he took a step forward and the dark tom narrowed his eyes and snarled.
"Feather was a traitor! he left with my traitorous mother and left me behind!" Snakebite snapped and Icarus finally raised his voice, and that's when other cats began to stare.
"Maybe because he cared about your mother! maybe because they couldn't stand being around you scheming with Kestrelsnap!" Snakebite's claws curled into the ground as he tried to restrain himself from attacking Icarus in the middle of the camp.
"Why are you defending a traitor to our clan, his own blood!"
"People come, people go! they can leave if they want, why do you hate him so much?"
"And why don't YOU hate him!" Snakebite now looked confused, though still seething with rage.
"Maybe because I LOVED HIM!" Icarus turned and ran off, he didn't want to look so weak as he had noticed tears running down his face, he had just confessed his love to someone in front of the whole clan, confessed his love to someone he might not ever see again, he defended the person he loved that he would never see again in front of the whole clan.

prompt: charlie gave a mrrowl as he brushed against his twoleg's leg, jumping to look out of the monster's open side-holes. he was used to being swallowed by the thing now, and understood it's purpose, and what his twolegs seemingly did- take other twolegs in monsters around the savannah for what seemed like no reason. watching the grasses roll by, he padded past the stranger twolegs and into his own twoleg's lap. when they were sitting at the front of the monster and spinning around that odd instrument, they never paid much attention to him, always keeping their odd-shaped eyes on the land in front out of the monster's front-holes; so it came as a surprise to charlie when he got a head-scratch, and he reclined, purring, on top of his twoleg's legs.

the twoleg stopped their boring waffle about savannah creatures and paused their speech to talk about 'his' cat, something charlie always enjoyed, although he wasn't too keen on the possessive pronouns used. as the monster slowed it's roaring sprint to a stop so that the twolegs could feed on odd plants and breads, charlie wandered off. being the cat of a safari tourguide wasn't always too interesting, even when he got extra pets, and sometimes he just had to be on his own for a while.

as he padded into the undergrowth, he heard a distinctive yowling of another cat. charlie approached with caution, ears pinned to his head as he slunk into a clearing in the tall grass. it was another cat, a female, locked in battle with a lone painted wolf. charlie's fur bristled as he felt an urge to help the she, darting into the fight. the other cat, which appeared to be wild, moved back slightly, eyes widened in surprise at this sudden stranger appearing. charlie quickly remembered he had no fighting training, and took to flailing his paws around wildly, hissing and snapping at the dog.

it lunged for his neck in a few heartbeats of chaos and fear, and charlie shut his eyes tight- but opened them a few seconds later. the dog was gone, but he couldn't see any reason why- until he glanced down.

his collar, studded with metal spikes, had been the thing the dog had bitten down on. it must have gotten stabbed in the mouth, charlie mused as he stared at the chewed up black leather. he jumped at a sudden voice, only to realise it was the cat from earlier- she had stuck around to watch. charlie blushed, suddenly embarrassed about his pitiful attempt at fighting and lucky win. he flattened his ears again, ready for an insult or mocking comment- but the smaller cat's only words were "thank you. i'm stoneteller- maybe you could visit my tribe one day. you're always welcome on the territory."

charlie shook his head as 'stoneteller' retreated- although the offer sounded tempting, and her words had healed his pride. maybe he would visit someday.

Prompt: Fireflower leaped up and dug her claws into the cliff. She started climbing up towards Cometclan's camp, a pheasant clamped in her jaws. As she got higher, she began to hear aggressive yowls and hissing. She hauled herself onto the ledge of the camp and dropped the pheasant on the ground. In front of her, Briarstrike stood over Lynxpaw, and clearly the warrior was angry about something. Fireflower paused to listen, one paw still raised in the air.

"I don't know what you were thinking, running off on your own like that! How stupid are you?" Briarstrike hissed. As usual, her temper was getting the better of her. "When Smokestar is away it is my job to look out for you, and I can't do that if you're sneaking off into the night every chance you get!" When Lynxpaw said nothing, staring at the ground, Briarstrike continued. "If you like to be alone so much maybe you should have thought twice before joining a Clan!" Lynxpaw flinched.

Fireflower, unable to stand and watch any longer, rushed forward and pushed herself between the two she-cats. "Briarstrike, what are you doing?" the ginger tabby asked incredulously.

"This idiot," Briarstrike spat, "has been sneaking off again! Last night she put not only herself but her little gang of friends in danger, took on a fight they couldn't win. If I hadn't found them in time, Starclan knows what would have happened! She needs to learn a lesson."

"Briarstrike!" Fireflower said loudly. "That's enough. If you want to punish her for sneaking out, send her to clean out the nursery. You can't just insult every cat that upsets you!" Behind her, Lynxpaw sat stoically, staring at the ground, but Fireflower knew Briarstrike's words had struck home. She knew better than anyone the feelings of doubt about belonging in a Clan.

"Fireflower, this is none of your business. While Smokestar's away--"

"Driftheart is in charge," Fireflower interrupted. "Your duty is to look after Smokestar's apprentice, not drive her from the Clan."

"But--"

"Enough!" Fireflower said firmly. The two she-cats stared at each other, and for a moment Fireflower thought she was about to get clawed. At last, Briarstrike took a deep breath and stepped back.

"Are you done?" Fireflower asked.

Briarstrike hissed something under her breath, then meowed, "Lynxpaw, go clean out the nursery." She turned and stalked away.

Fireflower turned around to face Lynxpaw. "Are you okay?" she asked. "I don't think Briarstrike meant any of that."

"Maybe she didn't mean to say it," Lynxpaw meowed quietly, "but she was thinking it."

"You belong here," Fireflower insisted. "Look at me! I still wear a collar, and Smokestar accepted me. If I belong here, you definitely do. You're the fiercest little cat I know."

"Thanks, Fireflower," Lynxpaw said.

"Don't let it get to you," Fireflower advised. "Now you should probably go clean out the nursery while she cools off." She watched the apprentice walk away, shaking her head. Briarstrike really needed to watch her words. (500 words)

His golden tag swung as he stood, almost eerily as the clock attached gave soft tic's as each second passed. Her heart lurched. Two steps. An inferno in his eyes, burning cinder into the holes chiseled deep into her heart. Pristine claws, laden with the cold of Winter lashed towards his ears. Flames lurched, dying down towards the charcoal at his feet, then flourished upwards. A blistering burst of fiery flames. Searing hot words hissed at her, devouring her cinder and engulfing her soul into a pyre of past pities.

A tic. Cold crystallized calls reflected in clear porcelain. Eyes of raw, chiseled ice borne of bitter bore into scorching eyes. The flames protected those the Forest healed. A gentle warmth pressed the forest's bountiful green to open wounds. Cloaking the visitor in mist and web, the flames burst forward -- facing the howling screams of shattered ice with an incandescent intellect.

A tic. A beat. Skies screamed with the shattered soul of sinister silence, sapping strength from Spring's shelter. Returning the flames ineffable fury and intent, they clashed. Charred claws met chilled bone. The bones opened with the howl of hurt, fang marked with lines of cinder. Hail fell from frozen ponds of blue, met evenly with yellow eyes of nectar and nurture. Posture reflecting protection and perfection, the provoked passion powered through primitive, predatory pneumonia. To protect the cloud, the flames devoured frost-bitten cold, before crashing down in a catastrophic sea of combust. The cloud felt naught but a warm, comfort in the heat of the fire.

A tic. A defeat.

The sun is lighting up the sky, pale blues accented by gentle fluffy clouds. They look like fish, obscure fish that don't really have the full form you would expect from creatures in the deep.
TansyKit stares up into the clouds mind drifting as black saucers stare into what seemed to be the never ending spin of the earth.

"How have you been dear?" SageDapple speaks from behind him, his ears flick to attention before drifting forward once more.

"Why are you talking to me?" OwlHearts sarcastic drone echos out from the same direction as SageDapple. His ears flick backwards once more, then they return to focusing on the waves.

In and out, gentle lapping of water over sand.

"Because you're my daughter and love you," came the patient reply from SageDapple.

    Gentle lapping against the land.

"Because you're a narcissist and I'm just a little you," came the incredibly impatient reply from OwlHeart.

SageDapple makes a hurt noise, causing TansyKit to turn. Now he isn't quite sure what a narcissist was, but clearly it was a mean word. Little stubby tail standing on end TansyKit lumbers over, confidence and bravado of a youth burning through his veins.

"OwlHeart th-" SageDapple attempted to begin, quickly cut off by TansyKit's squeaking voice. "Don't be a meanie Owl!"

SageDapple face twisted, carefully remaining neutral, if not gentle despite how clearly she was trying not to laugh.

OwlHeart scoffed, eyes rolling, derisive as she spoke.

"This doesn't concern you pipsqueak, go back to whatever you were doing."

"Yes it does, papas' always said, never be a meanie- even if that means you have to be a pipsqueak!"

He was paraphrasing the last part, he wasn't quite sure what a pipsqueak was, clearly it was the opposite of being a meanie, it had to be, that's what made sense. He was definitely a pipsqueak.

"I helped bring you into this world TansyKit, don't make me take you out of it."

Her voice was stern, icy cold as she stared at him. He blinked at her, there was no real reason to fear OwlHeart. She said a lot of mean things but she had a good heart deep down. That's why she earned the name 'heart, because she had one! That wasn't the point right now though.

"Why would you be planning my funeral, I'm not even dead yet?"

OwlHeart was the one who took everyone out of the world, she planned the funerals of every cat. He'd been to the funeral of one of the old cats before, it was very nice! He hopes that it's nice down there in ReefClan.

SageDapple twitched with laughter once again and in a huff OwlHeart turned and left.

"That was very kind of you young Tansy," SageDapple cooed, placing a lick on top of the kits head. He beams under the attention, tail curling.

    "No problem!" [479/500]

Cat Name: Phoenix
Clan: Ridgeclan
Rank: spy
Gender: male
Age: 34 moons
Prompt:
“Hey, hey break it up!” Phoenix yelled as he rushed towards the group of cats, the laughing almost over powering the whines of one in the middle.

“Oh calm down we were just having a little fun,” One of the cats sneered but backed away none the less.

“But we wouldn’t expect an outsider like you to understand that come on guys we’ve got better things to do than hang around with some clan cat,” Another tossed out before the group of four young cats disappeared into the undergrowth, Phoenix’s eyes training on the figures until he could no longer make them out.

It was then that he turned his attention to the younger cats still hunched on the ground, where she’d previously been surrounded by a harassing group she probably considered comrades. She was relaxing a bit now that the four had left, muscle releasing although she still watched Phoenix while she moved to stand.

“I didn’t need your help,” She hissed out, standing to face the tom and show that she was, in fact, taller and probably older then he had previously thought. “I didn’t think you where here to butt into our lives.”

“From where I was standing it looked like you needed someones to help,” Phoenix responded coldly not understanding when the she-cat seemed to not want to accept his help. “I didn’t realize stopping some older cats from messing with you was butting in, if this is how your group does things I won’t step in next time.”

Phoenix nodded in goodbye to the molly before she called out, “Wait, thanks for helping me. Just don’t do it again, they already think I’m week around here I can’t have them kick me out.”

Curiosity peaked the tom turned back to the younger female, “Well maybe we should make sure you aren’t seen as weak anymore. If you’d like when I’m not with your commanders I’ll train you.”

The smile and the determined nod the molly gave him was all the answer he needed. “I Asriel by the way.”

“Phoenix.”
