It was only a light drizzle, really. Not even actual rain. But still, Fireflyblaze hated it. So wet, so splashy, so.. drizzly. He shivered by the fresh kill pile, his one working eye blinking hard. How horrible it was when the rain got in your eyes. And that isn't even the worst of it. Fireflyblaze's already impaired vision was positively ruined by the rain. Even a light rain like this meant he could be surprised easily.
For a young, insecure warrior tormented by his past this obviously isn't going to help him much. And the rain brings his past up more for him. The fire that drove him almost insane, the tragic accident trying to save a kit that died anyway, the betrayal of his own kin. And it was the rain that stopped it. The rain that poured down for hours as CliffClan huddled outside their camp, staring at the soggy remains. Fireflyblaze can never get that out of his head, especially when it rains.
Plus he finds that all food tastes more salty than ever when it's wet. This is most likely because of the sea air, but honestly he never really liked seafood anyway. He prefers to stick to the rabbits on the moors or the woodland prey. When it's wet everything goes mushy in his mouth not just fish or crabs.
So whenever it rains you'll most likely find this young cat cowering under a bush somewhere. He rarely ventures out during rainstorms, preferring to stay at home and teach his apprentice simple battle moves. Hunting is near impossible for him during the rain, so he can't be bothered with helping out with that either. The one and only thing he finds easy about the rain is sleeping. Secure inside a waterproof den, Fireflyblaze is lulled to sleep by the steady drumming of raindrops in the earthy camp. Much nicer than going outside when it's like this, right?

Writing: The black and white cat didn’t expect it to be raining...He’d gone out that day intent on seeing Jessie, his bond and mate, whom lived just down the street. Now, Jenga was caught in the rain, and his white-marked raven coat was soaked. He huffed as he shook himself to no avail, not even sure why he tried in the first place. Letting out a kitty huff, he began to run now, going to the she cat’s house anyway. He jumped the frontal fence and landed up on it, jumping to the ground and running to the porch. Luckily, it was covered by an overhang, thus he shook himself and sat, purring now as he licked at himself. His ears twitched when the door opened and one human picked him up, Jessie mewing as she looked up at him. He purred as they got a towel and dried him off, then he was set free to interact with Jessie. Hey, the rain hadn’t been so bad afterall.

Anemoneskip was buzzing around the camp, her usual optimistic self bubbling over with glee. Spring! Spring was here! Her bright yellow eyes took in the bustling, busy Clan eagerly. What could she do to help? Her favourite part of the day had just arrived, sun-high! When the morning patrols came back, the apprentice's returned from training, cats got to relax after fulfilling their duties. She'd wanted to go on a patrol that morning, but had been delayed by Brightkit. Still, now the cats who hadn't left earlier were organising a couple patrols. Great, she'd go on one. The young pink warrior ran over, eyes bright. 'Can I come?'
After getting a positive reply, she trotted out after Bubblingthicket, who had been placed in charge. Her long, fluffy tail waved happily as she followed the patrol out of camp and through the forest. Anemoneskip guessed they were going to the moors, as that was always a prey-filled area. She scampered up onto the small section of moorland that was on CliffClan's territory, and sniffed around. Aha! A rabbit already. Shooting a quick glance at the older warriors, one of whom nodded quickly, she crouched and dove for it. Her outstretched paws skimmed it's hind legs, just managing to slam one to the ground. She finished it off quickly and stood, murmuring a blessing to StarClan. Just then, her keen eyes picked out a strange bright thing in the undergrowth.
After burying her catch to pick up later, Anemoneskip nudged away the thistles to uncover a beautiful flower. It was an oxalis, she saw at first glance, and she was entranced. The small blossom was obviously new and weak, so she adjusted the grasses to let in more sunlight. She'd never imagined finding flowers up here, as it's mostly heather and thistles, but this was a rare gem. Anemoneskip nudged it with her nose, whiskers twitching happily. What an amazing find! She'd always liked pretty things - like flowers, of course - and this was a lovely one. She wished she could keep it, but knew that it was always a good idea to let it grow. And though she racked her brains, she honestly couldn't think of a herbal use for it. Still, she was no medicine cat.
She spent a long time there, ignoring the sounds of hunting from behind her. She was pretty concealed behind that clump of thistles and the sunlight was warming her long fur. The flower was gently waving in the breeze, and she wondered how long it would live for before letting it's seeds float away and eventually dieing. Anemoneskip suddenly felt happy, knowing that its seeds would be scattered across the world. The molly took one last long look at the oxalis, before her name was called. She swung away and padded back to the rest of her patrol, smiling blissfully. After retrieving the rabbit from earlier, she and the others headed back to camp. Still, that was a beautiful moment and probably one she'll never forget. Maybe someday she'd even name a kit Oxaliskit.

Jessie found...a puppy...She was just walking along, thinking of maybe going to Jenga’s place this time, the kittens being watched by her humans, feeling safe in that knowledge. She perked her ears and lashed her tail at a sound, yelping and yipping, figuring some dog was loose...Or there was a local stray. She wasn’t fond of either idea...However, what she actually came upon was a Border collie puppy, typical black and white and all big brown eyes and paws he was still growing into. She lowered her head a moment, letting out a cat snort, then shook herself. Mewing, she managed to get the pup to follow her, leading him all the way home, her home. The humans brought him in, bathed him then took him to their vet, who allowed the occasional walk in. Later, they got some canned food and milk, as he was still pretty young, and fed him. Banner is now part of the family, kept by Jessie’s humans.

Writing: Featherbird was walking along searching for prey, she was glad that she could get free from Goldkit for at least a little bit. Featherbird stopped and sniffed the air, there was a rabbit! She crouched, waiting in the underbrush. She opened her mouth and looked around, there it was! Featherbird waited for just the right moment and then leapt onto the rabbit. She bit onto its neck and killed it quickly. She picked it up and buried it with the pigeon she had also caught. She hurried onwards, only stopping once in a while to sniff the air. Soon she came to the mountains, she decided to hunt up there.
Featherbird stopped, she sniffed the air. She stood up again - there was nothing there. She was nearly at the rock that stuck out of the mountain, the one she had climbed when she was an apprentice. Featherbird heaved herself up onto the rock and sat down, her tail curling over her cold paws. She looked around and sniffed the air. She looked down - there was something at the bottom of the mountain. Featherbird decided it was nothing, she turned and started to climb up the rest of the mountain. Then she heard something and pricked her ears. It was mewling, a kit mewling, she turned around and looked down again - the small thing was moving it looked like... like a kit! Featherbird didn't think it was a kit but she had to make sure... She charged down the mountain, her paws hitting the ground, thwack! They soon started to bleed but she still ran. Soon she got to the bottom of the mountain and she sniffed. She could smell blood and the blood wasn't hers, she sniffed again - there was also kit! Featherbird hurried towards the smell, she stopped when she saw a piece of cardboard stained with blood. She pushed over the cardboard and under it was a kit. She kit was very small and bloody and it smelt disgusting and ill. Featherbird wrinkled her nose but still picked up the kit. She ran back to her camp as fast as she could, the kit squirming and screaming as twigs hit them. Featherbird couldn't even smell if it was a boy or girl, she ran on and on. At last, she came back to camp. Goldkit ran up, but then she saw the kit and ran back to the nursery. Featherbird didn't notice all the cats looking at her and the kit, she burst into the medicine den and put the kit down.

Spiderpaw awoke when the rain stopped. It'd been pouring all night and Spiderpaw had barely managed to sleep. But strangely, it had suddenly stopped. She'd actually gotten used to it now, but no longer. To her great annoyance, all seemed to be still. Her whiskers twitched sleepily and she blinked at Sloepaw. The other apprentice was beginning to awaken as well, and Spiderpaw started to get to her paws.
The two she-cats brushed muzzles, and Spiderpaw's eyes flicked around the den. Foampaw had slept in the medicine den for her hearing treatment, but the rest of their denmates were snoozing peacefully. Spiderpaw met Sloepaw's eyes, grinning mischeviously. She led the pointed cat out of the den, head hold high and pawsteps light.
They slipped past Vinecry, who was guarding the camp, and Spiderpaw scurried out into the forest. Spiderpaw's ears pricked happily, everything was much more of a bustle here. She could hear birds twittering, although it was barely dawn, and glimpsed a squirrel or two. The spotted tabby also spotted something else - sparkling?
'C'mon Sloepaw!' Spiderpaw whispered, dragging her friend over to the object. It was strangely clear, but had some kind of.. tree? inside. She put out a paw to touch it and found it dripping with rainwater and cold on her paw pad. 'What is it?' Spiderpaw wondered. Prodding it harder; it shivered and seemed to explode with.. snow?
'StarClan knows,' Sloepaw shrugged, tilting her head. 'Maybe we should hide it, it might be dangerous.'
'Yeah - it seems like ice, if it breaks it might be sharp.' Spiderpaw padded to the edge and started digging with her wide-set front paws, and uncovered a caved in rabbit hole. She gestured to Sloepaw and the object was rolled over to her. She knocked it into the hole and scraped dirt on top. 'There,' Spiderpaw yawned. 'Let's go back home now.'
The two of them returned to camp and curled up together, dreaming of snow like inside the strange object. Spiderpaw, finally sleeping as the rain began again, knew she would never forget that peculiar night with Sloepaw. What a beautiful experience it'd been.

April 5th Prompt:Looks like your cat isn't the only one enjoying the warm spring sun...
Your cat stumbled upon a sun-basking snake! What do they do?Daily Prompt Response!Username:
Spiritstar3
Writing:
Jenga was glad to finally have some warm weather...huffing, he trotted along in search of a nice patch of sun, wandering the neighborhood as usual. The black tabby and white tom soon came upon a stone wall, realizing he must be far, on the edge of town, as he had never encountered a stone wall before. Something...long and slithery reared its head up, and Jenga hopped back with a hiss. Realizing it was a snake, and it seemed rather...dronk on sunlight and heat, he settled down and watched it awhile. It didn’t really do anything, so he soon became bored and returned home.
