Their bloom lasts for a week at most and because of that they are said to be a reminder. A reminder of how short but beautiful life is and how we must pay more attention to the finer details of our lives and cherish those around us as nothing lasts forever.
favorite food: Ice-cream
explanation: The cold but creamy treat always sends her into a nostalgic mood to when she was a calf and used to eat pints of vanilla ice-cream every summer. One day she hopes to open her own ice-cream parlour with wacky and wonderful flavours. Poppy is happy being a simple girl, living a simple life, and baby's breath flowers remind her of nice summer days spent in the breeze - aka what she thinks of when she thinks of her happy, modest life. they also fit with her very minimalist vibe - marie kondo is her hero ngl, so she's constantly de-cluttering and minimizing her possessions. there's something else about them, too, but she can't quite put her hoof on it - she just absolutely adores them ! favorite food: garlic knots and vegetarian ravioli

her family has some truly italian heritage, and they're very proud of it. this also means that they have deep roots in italy, and a lot of very - ahem - amusing family legends. one of which involves this food and happens to be her favorite. according to this legend, one of Poppy's ancestors was a street vendor and met da Vinci himself when she was selling caged birds. he not only bought all of the birds and continued to release them, as he was known to do, but he also convinced her that she should stop selling them and, eventually, became friends with her. over many years, the two grew close, and one night she was going to host a dinner party for da Vinci and his friends, but became too ill to cook. in turn, he decided he would cook the meal himself, and he made wonderful ravioli dishes and garlic bread. when the guests bit into them, they found that the raviolis were made without meat - their chef was a vegetarian, after all ! while most of the guests were unimpressed, Poppy's ancestor loved them so much that da Vinci taught her how to make them, and she went on to pass it down to her children. whether the story is true or not, and despite the change from garlic bread to garlic knots, this has always been a staple food in Poppy's life. she loves the taste of it and the story behind it. but, most of all, she loves that they remind her of home and her family. as a child, Poppy had very bad nightmares. one night, after waking up and running to her parents, her father gave her a glass of milk and told her it would keep the nightmares away. to her surprise, she woke up the next morning without having had another nightmare ! she's had chocolate milk every night before bed since then, and she's never had another nightmare. Poppy insists that she doesn't believe the tale any more and that it's more of a comfort than anything now, but somewhere deep inside, despite knowing how silly it is, she still believes that chocolate milk keeps her nightmares away.
