Berry Luna has always loved strawberries, ever since her first strawberry she ended up falling in love with them. Her parents took her strawberry picking during the summer as a family trip at strawberry lake. Their sweet and juicy, they are good with whip cream and there is so much recipes for them; strawberry Angel food cake, strawberry pie, fruit salad, strawberries and whipped cream, jello with strawberry pieces in them, and so much more! Her favorite dish is waffles with strawberries and whip cream on top, oh, what about toast with strawberry jam! Mmmmm
Strawberries remind her of how sweet life can be, the world isn't all the bad. One of her favorite poems about strawberries:

O marvel, fruit of fruits, I pause
To reckon thee. I ask what cause
Set free so much of red from heats
At core of earth, and mixed such sweets
With sour and spice: what was that strength

"Listen! Do you have any idea how amazing bananas are? Tell me any other fruit you can make into a bread! Convince me there's a better smoothie base! Bananas MAKE desserts, French toast wouldn't be the same without them, neither would a banana caramel pie or chunky monkey ice cream or sundaes or pancakes! What other fruit pairs with absolutely every nut in existence? I mean isn't peanut butter and banana the most incredible match made in heaven?

They're so easy to eat too. Just peel and go! Perfect snack food. Every other fruit the juice goes everywhere but the banana? Nope, don't have to worry about dirtying your paws because they've got a built in utensil. Don't throw the peel in the trash after either, they're really good for the compost or to feed livestock.

Most importantly, is there any other fruit that is so associated with joy and humour? No other fruit is anywhere close in the comedy race, no, pineapples aren't that hilarious I assure you.

Bananas are also so very versatile, I mean you can even use the leaves of a banana tree to cook food in or use as a plate or an umbrella, their fiber is even even used to make paper and textiles . You can use the flower, also known as the banana blossom or heart in cooking too, and some cultures even use the stem of the banana tree. Not to mention they're beautiful plants and just bring to mind the tropics. I love tropical places, don't you? I want a whole garden full of banana plants!

There's some really interesting folklore surrounding bananas too. I encourage you to read about the Nang Tani of Thailand or the Pontianak of Malaysia.

But through all the trauma, decay and sadness, what helped me through my plight?

In his youthful days, Pitaya slept on the filthy streets of Chennai. In India's poverty, he, as well as many other was deprived of food and water, and protection. He had no family, no friends, nobody. All he had was a deteriorating cardboard mat. At his worst, gaunt, nearly reaching the brink of death, he fell into a deep sleep. He dreamed of tight warm arms wrapping around him. It felt strange, but comforting. Like his hollowness and the burden of anxiety had been lifted off him. When he awoke, a Buddha's hand had been positioned in front of his curled up structure. He could see nobody in the desolate streets, but the kind stranger's gift had been a blessing, a warm comforting blessing. Despite it's sour citrus taste, he gratefully ate it. Pitaya's favourite fruit is exactly the one that had saved him when he narrowly avoided death.
