Cat Name: (Zifzu) Iceblood

Gender: Female
Rank: Warrior
Age: 33 moons
Clan: Breezeclan

Prompt:
Ice paced through the snow, knowing she was in strange territory and aware her ears were going to fall off from the cold any moment now. Her shadow haunted her, but she pressed on until she was ready to collapse from exhaustion. Digging herself a shallow snow den, she shuffles inside letting the heavy fall bury her. It was still cold, but at least she was out of the wind for a moment as she began to drift.
_____________________________________________________________
Honeysuckle, a deputy of the clan was out on his own trailing mouse scent. To bring food to his hungry clan would be a blessing. It took a lot of patience and perfect timing to manage it, but he was able to kill three mice digging for seeds. The soft snow slowed them down and the harsh wind had hidden his pawsteps until it was far too late. Three tails in his jaw, the proud cat was returning home when he saw a pair of blue eyes looking at him from under the snow cover.
Hardly noticeable, but there, he jumped in surprise. "Mela-mre'az! You startled me!" He said, pausing in his tracks and slowly moving toward the stranger. "What are you doing out here? Is dangerous this night indeed." The eyes shifted, the cat was tilting their head in confusion. He assumed they were not of Breezeclan or they'd have stepped out and addressed him. They seemed more weary than anything, tired and unable to fight if they tried. He stepped a little closer.
"Come Fela, don't be afraid. I am a leader, my name is Honeysuckle and I live in Breezeclan." He could smell her scent more clearly now, maybe a tail length away. "Come, have a mouse with me. Speak your troubles hunter and I shall listen." He watched the snow shift slightly, part of her head and paws now showing. He dropped the mice and pawed one towards her. While probably a little cold, she took it and ate quickly. "Do you have a face name?"
Again the cat gave him a confused look. "My name is Ice, but I'm not sure what you mean by a 'face name.'' She replied, now mostly done with her mouse. Honeysuckle chuckles happily, his tail swaying.
"You must be the uncommon folk, I've heard and seen many cats who've forgotten the old ways. We here at Breezeclan have three names, the face name is the one you share with others. Ice it would be, and a heart name we should give you. Something you only share with close friends." He explains, though she still looked quite confused.
With a belly partly filled, Ice was feeling better and now quite curious. She hadn't spoken her true name since she left her clan and here would begin something new... "Come with me Fela, will you? I will teach you everything and we can share more mice until the cold passes." Such a sweet cat, love in his eyes even if he hardly knew her.
"I will."

    Cat Name: Clearpath

    Gender: Male
Rank: Mediator (like a warrior pretty much! They solve the problems in the clan (like tree in warriors) )
    Age: 30 moons
    Clan: Copperclan

    Prompt:
The light colored tom was padding through the snow, despite being short-haired they weren't cold at all. He actually loved the snow, he had been walking for days and was looking for a home, he had heard that a few clans lived where he was trekking so he kept his guard up. Everyone heard that clan cats ate others bones and killed others, they were rumoured to be monsters. With a shiver at the thought he continued on though stopping as he heard voices, bristling he was unsure of how to get around this. He burrowed under the snow trying to tunnel around them so he couldn't be seen, though he miscalculated and his head popped up right by the voices.

"Fox dung." he muttered hoping he wasn't noticed, much to his dismay the two other cats eyes were on him. One a large broad shouldered flat face tom, the other a soft golden tom. "May I ask what your doing in Copperclan's territory? It's cold and not safe for wanderers like yourself?" They didn't seem hostile much to his relief, "I well..don't have a home." he said shyly scuffling his paws looking down "I'm just travelling to find a home." The flat face tom let out a low purr, it sounded deep and raspy like an earthquake, so deep it could shake all the snow off the mountain. "Well I admit, you have wits. You tried to slip past and it was smart. If you want you can join us, I'm Amberstar leader of Copperclan." The tom dipped his large broad head, as he introduced himself.

The softer looking tom spoke up "and I'm softfall, one of the clan's hunters. We have many ranks you can work for such as; builder, explorer, fighter, hunter, healer and mediator." he dipped his head as he said this. The grey tom thought for a moment before letting out a soft pleased purr, "I'm Benny, though I've never associated with that name. I'd love to join you." The flat face tabby nodded, "Follow us then, our camp is right up the mountain, in the caves."

The three set out to the camp making their way up the trail, Benny looked around watching as the snow softly fell around them, it really was pretty out here. Not feeling so shy he shook out his fur as they padded into a large cave, "Welcome to Copperclan Benny." rumbled Amberstar. He hopped up onto the calling ledge and shouted "Let all cats that can prove themselves or are working to prove themselves please meet underneath the calling ledge!" his voice ricocheting all through out the caves, echoing around him. At his call cats filed in curiously, unsure of what the meeting was for. As everyone filed in and sat down Amberstar beckoned him in front of the crowd, "This is Benny, he will be joining our clan." He hopped down from the ledge and stood in front of Benny, "From this day on, until you receive your name, you will be known as Clearpaw. Your mentor will be Softfall. I hope Softfall will pass down all he knows on to you." He rested his head onto of Clearpaw's smaller one, the clan cheered the new arrival with joy. Clearpaw let a small smile slip onto his face,

He finally had a home, he felt wanted and he didn't feel so shy, but confident. He puffed out his chest with pride and dipped his head to Amberstar.

Cat Name: Peony | Rocks That Shine In Moonlight | Shining Moon

      Gender: male
      Rank: warrior
      Age: 14 moons old
      Clan: The Long Dark

Prompt: *Frozen Creek is an NPC. Bright Star is not good at compliments. But leave her alone. She's doing her best.
      [996 words]
      --

“Bright Star,” Frozen Creek objected. “Perhaps it was nothing but a shrew. We’ve searched all of AuroraClan territory. Twice.”

Bright Star came to a rolling stop, turning her head to face the smaller white tom-cat. He shrank beneath her gaze, expecting her usual hot remarks, but Bright Star simply clamped her jaw. Her muzzle ruffled, making a funny show of her pearly fangs. She knew what she saw! There was another feline roaming AuroraClan territory. Their fur had been shrouded in the cover of snow - almost as if they were using the white powder to shield themselves from view. Bright Star didn’t quite care for sneaky cats; sneaky cats came with pesky problems. Problems Bright Star did not have the time, nor the patience, to deal with.

“You may return to camp if you wish, Frozen Creek,” Bright Star told him calmly. Relief sparked in his ghostly eyes. “I will not be long.”

“Be safe, Bright Star,” Frozen Creek offered, turning tail without much hesitation. He wanted to get out of there before she found a solid reason to change her mind.
      \
The she-cat’s sigh left under cover of hot steam, curling with greedy fingers to the sky. Ears flicking, Bright Star continued on her walk. She knew what she’d seen. There was someone in her territory - and she was going to find them.

Sadly, that someone didn’t make a single peep, even after Bright Star circled the territory another time. Dejected and quite confused, the ginger molly was walking swiftly back toward her camp, when the snapping of a twig made her pause. Her head shot up, ears swiveling like radars in the direction the noise had come from. There - covered in the shelter of a cluster of pine trees, she saw a flicker of white. A tail.

Fur bristling, the massive molly burst into a sprint, charging head first toward the stranger that made her look quite the fool. She skidded to a stop at the mouth of a rocky den. It was laden with the stench of fox - but underneath the reek, was a tiny hint of feline. A tom, by the sharpness of it. Bright Star, narrowing her eyes against the dark of the makeshift den, poked her head in. At the very back of the den, two beady teal eyes glared back.

“Hello?” Bright Star called angrily. “Show yourself!”

“Get lost! This is my home, not yours!” The tom cat called back in the smoothest tone the she-cat had ever heard. She pulled her head back, quite amazed by the tenor of his words.

“Actually, stranger, this is AuroraClan territory. So technically, this den belongs to me.” Bravely, Bright Star poked her head back inside, lowering her shoulders so as to crawl her way inside. The tom cat’s eyes widened to match the size of the moon. He hunkered back against the wall, his fur standing on end. A rattled hiss left his chest. Bright Star mimicked it with a snarl twice its malice.

“P-please,” the tom backtracked. “I’ll leave. Just- please don’t hurt us!”

      “Us?” Bright Star questioned nervously.

The tom cat took hold of a mysterious object that she hadn’t seen - a rock? No. A crystal. He clutched it to his chest, unsheathed claws making an awful racket against the surface of his possession. Bright Star’s temple creased with concern.

“Don’t take my rocks. No one likes them, they get stolen all the time- but- they’re all I’ve got! Don’t take my rocks!”

Bright Star took a few steps backward, her rear sticking back out of the tom’s den so as to give him a little space to breathe. So this cat collected rocks? How simply… mysterious of him. Cocking her head to the side, the orange molly lowered her voice to a more pleasant tone - or as pleasant as Bright Star could be.

“I won’t take your rocks,” Bright Star told him softly. “I think they’re… um. Smashing. Brilliant, really. A fine… pile, you’ve, uh… got yourself here. I don’t have an eye for pretty things. But, you, sir… you, uh, you’ve got a keen eye.”

The tom grew quiet, then, in a voice that hardly contained his excitement, “You do? You like them?”

Bright Star gave a brief nod of her head, uncertain how to continue her conversation. Bright Star was not one to hand out compliments - especially not to cats that hoarded shiny things.

“Come closer!” The tom demanded. “ I’ll show you my collection!”

Ears swiveling back against her head, Bright Star was rather taken aback. However, her uncertainty did not live long - as she found herself being wrapped in the paws of the strange cat and pulled within his den.

“My name is Peony. Odd for a tom, I know. But this is my rock collection! See this? This here is called Amethyst. And this? This is citrine! It’s my favorite. Oh! And this is really a rare treat! Sea glass. I got this from a raven in exchange for sticks!”

“Peony,” Bright Star echoed, chuckling under her breath. Perhaps this cat was just odd enough to fit in.

“Do you see one you like?” Peony asked in a very excited chirp.

Bright Star used her paw to point at a rock that had been busted open.

“A geode,” Peony said confidently. He rolled it to her. “A gift, for your kind words.”

Bright Star let her fall fall on the geode, looking up at the tom with humor alight in her copper stare. “If you follow me, I’d like to give you a gift. And an offer you may want to consider.”

Peony’s face lit up with joy. “I would love that! Oh, what is your name? I’ve never met another cat that likes rocks like I do!”

      “Bright Star,” she told him.

“Wow. That’s really weird.” He muttered. "You're an odd individual, Miss Bright Star."

Bright Star raised a brow, but headed out of the den with Peony on her trail. Odd, indeed.

Prompt: (1000 words max)

Lightheart sighed as she and Silentsmoke made their way through the forest. The winter had been rougher than most and the icy wind bit into the warrior's fur. Lightheart shivered slightly and sneezed.
"We should finish this patrol quickly before our eyes freeze shut." She joked between chattering teeth. Silentsmoke snorted in amusement and nodded.

The two she-cats raced through the territory, scenting the air and eyeing their surroundings carefully as they went. Even if the weather was horrific they still had a job to do. The two were just reaching the edge of the lake when Silentsmoke froze. She twitched her tail to the left and crouched down. Lightheart followed her lead and scented the air. There was the scent of a stranger on the wind. It was so faint and nearly covered by the scent of ice and snow. Lightheart was impressed that Silentsmoke had managed to notice it. She sent her sister a nod and the tow crept towards the scent.
Soon they came upon an odd sight. The stranger was in front of them but was half buried in the snow, and could be seen shivering.

"Are you ok?" Lightheart asked with concern.
The stranger squeaked with alarm and buried themselves deeply in the ice. "G..g..Go.. A..w..Away!" He exclaimed, his teeth chattering as he spoke.

"You shouldn't be under that snow. You could get seriously sick. Come out." Lightheart insisted. This stranger was no threat if they were half frozen, and the she-cat felt only concern for the tom.

The tom shook his head. "No. Jus. just.. leave. .me... al..alone!" He cried.

Silentsmoke frowned and crept closer to the half buried tom. He flinched backwards as she approached. Silentsmoke let out a quiet hum and gestured for the tom to come out. He shook his head and only went deeper into the snow.
"Well if you won't come out can you at least tell us why you're in the snow, and in our territory?" Lighhteart asked.

The tom hesitating. "I was av..avoiding.. some... fo...foxes. They cha..chased me he.here. I h...hid in the sn..snow to ge..get aw..away." He explained. "Y..you.. sho..should le..leave! It's no..not safe!"

Lightheart nodded with understanding an smiled gently. "Well the foxes are gone now. It's safe to come out. Although your concern for our wellbeing is sweet.

The tom's ears folded back with embarrassment but he shook his head. "Th..they mig..might come b..back!" He insisted.

"Then wouldn't it be better to be safe in our camp then out here if htey do come back?" She asked, and Silentsmoke nodded.
The tom hummed confusion. "W..wha..what?"

Lightheart chuckled. "Come with us. A sweet cat like you is always welcome in AuroraClan." She insisted.

The tom hesitated for a beat before nodding when he saw that Lightheart and Silentsmoke were serious. He slowly made hsi way out of the snow with the help of the two she-cats who helped dig him out.

Cat Name: Cloudwhisper

Gender: Tom
Rank: Furcatcher
Age: 34 moons
Clan: Dawnclan

Prompt:
“Daddy! Daddy!”
The shrill voice of a young kit rang out over the frozen snow. Four small kits darted between half-hidden bushes, followed by their father, Birchstar. “Thornkit, Emberkit, Smokekit and Honeykit! Get back here!” He was smiling, and all five of the cats knew he didn’t mean anything. Thornkit tested the snow beneath his paws, his thick, dark grey pelt standing out against the shining blanket. He mewled excitedly when one paw fell through. After digging a small hole, he curled up inside it and waited for his sister to come past. Watching Smokekit with beady eyes, he shifted himself and readied to pounce. When Smokekit was near enough, Thornkit leapt from his hiding place, squeaking and pawing her with sheathed claws.
“Thornkit!” Smokekit wailed. “That’s not fair, I didn't see you!” Thornkit laughed and darted away, leaving a set of miniature paw prints in his wake.

Feeling the cold wind in his fur was a relief for Thornkit. Although he was young, the feel of being too hot due to long fur was not uncommon in the stuffy dens back at camp. Out here, the air was fresh and helped to keep him cool. Unbeknownst to him, Smokekit hadn’t stayed back where he’d surprised her. She’d followed silently, and was waiting for the perfect opportunity to scare him. She gradually closed in on him and launched herself through the air, landing squarely on his back and sending them both tumbling through the snow. In front of them was a huge pile of snow. They crashed into it, mewling indignantly at each other. But instead of finding themselves stuck in a cold, snowy embrace, they lay in a small cavern. And there was another cat in there.

The unfamiliar tom hissed, baring his teeth at the kits, before realising what they were and relaxing. “What are you two doing here?” The strange cat growled. Thornkit sat up, a little dizzy, before responding.
“Hello cat! I’m Thornkit and I was playing with my sisters then I fell in here.”
“Yeah,” Smokekit added. “Cinderkit and Honeykit got left behind when we ran off, and Daddy didn’t even try to follow us.”
At the mention of other cats, the tom shrank into the corner of the snowy hollow. “Other cats?” He hissed, laying his ears back. “I can’t have other cats see me!”
“But why not?” Thornkit replied.
“Because I look horrible! Haven’t you seen the state of my fur?” Smokekit looked closely at the tom.
“You look nice,” she mumbled. The calls of her family met her ears, which flicked in recognition of the sound. “It sounds like our family are looking for us,” She mewed to Thornkit. “We’d better go.” With that, they erupted from the snow, surprising the nearby Emberkit.
“Thornkit! Smokekit! Where’ve you been? Daddy’s been worried,” Emberkit mewed.
“There was such a handsome tom in the snow,” Thornkit replied. “I need to show Daddy!”
“Show me what?” Birchstar’s slender form had materialised behind them.
“Oh, there you are,” Thornkit sighed. “I saw a beautiful cat beneath the snow, but he didn’t want to come out. He said his fur was messy, but I think it was perfect just the way it was.”
The tentative white paw of the cat emerged from the hole, followed by the rest of him. His grey and white fur gleamed in the weak leaf-bare sun. “Hello,” the cat said. “So you are these kits’ father. I didn’t want to come out, but I never could refuse the magic of a kit.”
