Name: Quzah Chel'qath - from the Arabic word for rainbow ("qaws Quzah", meaning "bow of Quzah", as the rainbow is said to have been the bow of the weather god Quzah) and the Yucatán Poqomchi' word for rainbow ("Chel", referring to the weather goddess Ix Chel). The name is supposed to resemble those Lovecraft gave his Outer Gods.
    Gender: Agender
    Prompt:
Qu comes a land difficult, perhaps nigh impossible, for our Euclidean, three dimensional minds to ever fully comprehend. It exists as a close neighbor to our own world, merely a hop and a skip to the left and one dimension "up". We can't properly see it as we are - we only get small glimpses scattered throughout our days in the form of small, inexplicable black dots in our vision, expanding to some degree, shrinking, and then returning to small points and disappearing, never again to appear within that same spot. However, if we were to exist and comprehend things within the fourth dimension, that world would be quite clearly visible to us, though an odd sight it would be. An odd sight that would require being broken down into several parts...

It would appear to us as a 3-sphere; like our sphere (a 2-sphere) can be made by layers of circles (a 1-sphere) of increasing sizes, a 3-sphere would be made of spheres of increasing sizes stacked together with a 'cone' at the center of it all, visually similar to a worm hole or the eye of a hurricane. The planet consists primarily of dense gases which form clouds, but towards the poles and the center pressure becomes great enough to cause it to form into a thick, syrupy like liquid. To travel through the planet would be to swim inside a contained sphere and, upon reaching the edge and crossing through, you find yourself within another sphere on the opposite side.

Gravity here, or the thing equivalent to it, is no less the strange. The star it orbits is an anti-matter star which has an attractive gravitational pull on other antimatter composed objects and a repulsive force on objects composed of matter, such as Qu's home, only kept in orbit by the black hole near the system. This repulsive gravitational force keeps things on the planet and has an inverse relationship with the planet's atmospheric pressure; the closer to the surface of the planet the lesser the atmospheric pressure and the greater the gravitational push and vice versa; once you get to the bottom of the ocean you'll feel both weightless and as if you were being crushed by the water's weight.

The final oddity comes in relation to time. Within this dimension time works as just another direction one can travel in. Different portions of the planet are different depending on which time they are viewed at, with plenty of distinct landmarks sharing physical locations but occupying different points in time. From our linear perspective of time this will look like parts of the planet flickering in and out of existence or changing as the minutes pass. This is true when it comes to the life of this planet, too - from our perspective some body parts or garments of larger lifeforms might be visible long before the rest of the creature.

The life on this planet all resemble invertebrates in one form or another to combat the high pressure of their home, with a majority possessing many sets of large eyes to make use of what little light makes it through the thick fog to be refracted by the floating, crystalline "plant" life. Predators make use of a combination of fluorescent crystalline lures and/or mental manipulation to lure prey into one of many sets of mouths. Plenty 'toy' with the lifeforms of lower dimensions such as ours, whether it be for easy meals, to boost their own egos, or for simple entertainment. In relatively recent times H.P Lovecraft had his dreams plagued by such creatures and wrote of them in his horror novels, but the representations of angels in old texts makes one wonder...

So, with all of this in mind... How could Qu possibly look like the cute, fluffy little Yaeko they appear to be? To them it's a simple matter of shifting and compressing the portion of themselves visible on the 3rd Dimension to something "friendly" and "approachable" by our standards. They don't quite have a perfect grasp of it, however, as seen by the extra limbs in odd places.

Alright, so I've finally made up my mind!

First of all I'd like to give HMs to everyone who finished their forms - Niffu and SpotSong!

Niffu, I really liked your answer to the prompt - I thought the part about him being a stress eater was very cute and I enjoyed the concept for the Laks. I'm sort of biased because "Lakrids" and "Laks" are so similar to the words in my native language, but your prompt was very pleasant to read overall!
SpotSong, I loved your extra for this contest! The art piece(s) you did of this Yaeko were incredibly pretty and it genuinely made me regret only allowing one extra for this contest - I loved both your art pieces! Your answer to the prompt was short but sweet and a nice piece to read.

This contest was difficult to judge because I was stuck between two forms and kept going back and forth between them - therefore I have decided to award a RU. Deciding on who would win and who would get a RU was equally difficult though and reinforcements were called upon to help with judging. (Shoutout to my boyfriend, the true legend here)

The RU will be going to Alcidesune for a brilliantly written form! The idea behind the dimension the Yaeko comes from was... Intriguing, to say the least! Confusing but very intriguing. I like how you described their home planet with such a great attention to detail. I appreciate how you explained the ways things work on their planet and what life here looks like. You had an incredibly well-written answer to the prompt and the name was a great fit - I had to award a RU for your efforts!

And the winner is... Dragonheart48!

I thought your answer to the prompt was brilliant - I loved how you answered questions about her extra limbs and also how she came to planet earth in the first place. I feel like you wrote a story that tied up a lot of loose ends about who this Yaeko is and where she comes from, which was exactly what I wanted from this contest - I can't wait to see how you develop Aerwyna further with this in mind. To add to this, I'd also like to say that I loved your art piece - I felt it really helped capture the story you told about her origins and provided a picture for how conditions were during these experiments.

Thank you all so much for entering - I wish you all the best in the future!

Golden-Boy, I know you removed your form, but I felt like I should give you a HM either way - I saw your form and read through it before you took it down and thoroughly enjoyed the piece you wrote. It was an interesting take on the prompt and I felt it'd be unfair of me not to praise you for it!
