The best comparison I can think of would be a deputy, advisor, or a friend that doesn't pick a side after their friends in a relationship break up. The nickname was given to signify the role as an advisor and mediator, someone that would listen and give thought-out feedback. Bades stops arguments between others from escalating too far and is trusted to make decisions for the good of others.
They'll "bade" you farewell kindly, even if you've wronged them.

Lilac was given for her lavender-cream and white coloured pelt and feathers, as she is seen as a particularly beautiful Peryton. Skies was given for the significance of the skies to the Bright Stars herd to it's heritage and beliefs, meant to bring luck and prosperity.
