indenteven after the sun had set, ayumu's blue-green eyes were still
wide open. she made no attempt to stand up and make her way to
the bed, because she knew that no matter what she did, she would
not be able to fall asleep at a normal hour of the night. the glassy
and glazed over appearance of her eyes showed how utterly tired she
was, and even if she gulped down one too many sleeping pills to be
safe, they simply won't work. the only other option for the viscet
was to tire herself out completely, and go out like a light for a while.
the oneirocritic's dreams and nightmares choose to plague her during
her time of rest, and while some of the dreams are exhilarating to
experience, she often meets nightmares that consist of her greatest
fears and worst memories.

indentshe held a paw to her her forehead, and with a slight wince,
ayumu hissed softly as her cool paw pressed against her heated head.
pulling away her paw to fix her ombre hair into a neater ponytail, the
tip of her leopard-like tail twitched in agitation. she stood up fluidly
and stumbled towards her bed, collapsing onto the blankets as ayumu
let out an aggrieved sigh. her eyes slid shut hesitantly, and although
her mind was still very much awake, her current position had eased
her somewhat. it was strangely comforting in a way, and ayumu knew
that such a moment was rare and tried her best to enjoy it.

indent"sleep? rest? those words hold no meaning to me, now. isn't it truly ironic how i, an oneirocritic, barely have the
opportunity to dream because of my insomnia? i've never quite figured out why my insomnia keeps persisting; what is
my problem? anxiety? working too much at home? there's so many questions that i want to ask, yet i will never be able
to receive the answers i'm looking for." a small sigh was emitted from her mouth once again, and as ayumu winced and
opened her eyes to glance at the light hanging on the ceiling, she raised a paw, almost as though she were reaching for it. of
course, the female viscet couldn't actually touch the light, and when she rolled onto her side, a bitter smile took place on her
lips. unconsciously, one of her paws had entangled itself around a strand of her hair, and as she toyed around with her bangs,
she pursed her lips slightly in agitation.

indentthe tip of her tail twitched restlessly, and as ayumu shifted around on her bed, she attempted to push herself into a
sitting position. lying on the bed would do no good for her, she reasoned to herself, and with that thought in mind, she stood
up and began to make her way towards the kitchen, preparing to treat herself to a cup of hot coffee. "if i can't sleep, then
there's no reason trying to push things, right? i'm sure that i'll be able to sleep for a little more tomorrow, so everything
should be fine. i mean, it is a little difficult to imagine that things will be okay, but i've made it this far without too
much trouble. it would certainly be nicer if i could get my sleeping schedule and habits all fixed up, though."

indentthe exhausted mage blinked blearily as she prepared her coffee, and when she took her first sip, she sighed, looking
ready to collapse at any moment. "time to get working again. fun."
