Light touches my fur, its warm touch crawls up my back. Music starts to play, the soft sound of a violin plays in my ear. The curtains have been pulled open. My voice rang out in sync with the music. It was clear as a crystal. As I hit a higher note my singing grew louder. At the end of my song I could feel sweat beading up on my forehead. I took a few breaths and looked out into the audience. People were raising their glasses and cheering.

Hello, I’m Sylv. I sing at the Crystal Castle, a small but lovely theatre. Walking out of the backstage doors I felt a chill run up my shoulders, the wind danced along the air lifting my ribbons and fur. I chuckled and continued walking. Finally I made it to the apartment complex. I walked inside and into my apartment. A smile edged mouth. I stepped out on my balcony and stared out into the city lights. I pulled a light sweater over myself, and watched cars pass my building. I heard crickets playing, and chimes being blown by the wind. I tapped against the railing and felt the beat consume me. I started to sing, my own song. It wasn’t a cover...or a parody, just mine! As I sang I saw an old kalon poke her head out of her window. She gave me a gummy smile and then put her head back inside. I heard the shut of the window and blushed. I continued to sing, it was fun...not having to worry about impressing an audience...doing my own thing.

What do I love? Why, talking to the dearly departed of course!
”Of course, I know, it’s not every day that you hear of a kalon who talks to ghosts!” Cayce giggles, paws tucked under her as you sit across the dark, grooved table. It seems as if the shop has been well kempt, everything has a place. Crystals are nestled in shelving and tissue, candles make the peculiar cove homely... and even the little bookshelves filled with books only a witch could know are neatly dusted, in order, and flagged with bright memos.
“Most kalons can’t see ghosts as I can, of course... But Thats why I love my job so much more! Seeing the smile on a patrons face after hearing from lost loved ones is a feeling which can really be replaced by no other...” Cayce seemed a little distant, killing something over no doubt.
“I know it’s a little odd for a kalon like me to be into such an odd hobby, but I only mean the best! Sometimes spirits need a little coaxing to talk though, so I’ve been practicing witchcraft on the side!” Her tail flicked to and fro, beckoning a small sprite to join her.
“I’ve even found a familiar! This is Scrib... Sometimes I need their help in seeking out spirits,” Cayce seemed elated, however odd of a witch she may have been, she had a heart of gold. You pass her some coins for her time, merely curious... you’re lucky to have all your loved ones, but the bright colors and quaint shop drew you in. Cayce waved at you on your way out, it seems this kalon really does love helping others! Maybe in a nonconventional way, but perhaps ghosts have good stories to tell?[283/400]
