His name has both negative and positive connections to it. At birth he was called 'little Feather' by his parents, being the smallest of the litter and also recalling to mind the ravens and crows which filled the region. However, when being forced to fend for himself too early, elder rogues and strays would jeer the nickname 'Crowfood' at him, saying his parents had tossed him aside like a useless weight he was.
Eventually he kept on the name crow hen a friend of his, a knowledgeable cat named Prince, told him corvids were among the most intelligent of their feathered neighbors. Crowface was also becoming known at the time for his quick thinking and cleverness, so he attached the name to himself with a slightly showoffish joy.
The 'face' part mixed in with his grey-black fur, notably lighter by the face, and also for his mind, just as Crow had been attached to him due to his cleverness.
