Show Name: The Goddess of Fire
Barn Name: Sekhmet
Gender: Mare
Age: 6
Halter color: Keep <3
Pearl/jewel color (halter): Keep <3
Name Meaning: In Egyptian mythology, Sekhmet was the goddess of the sun, fire, plagues, healing and war. She had the head of a lioness and the body of a woman. It was believed that her breath created the desert. Sekhmet's breath represented a hot desert wind, and her body was the glare of the midday sun. She was created when Hathor came down to earth to take vengeance on man. Sekhmet became the destructive eye of the sun, and a solar goddess, and was named “Eye of Ra.” The ancient Egyptians knew that the sun could bring life, (Hathor), but also death. (Sekhmet). People were afraid of Sekhmet because along with her healing and protective powers, she also used her power destructively and brutally. Her name translates as "The Powerful One."
Theme: Playing with the Big Boys
Personality: As her name suggests, Sekhmet is a fiery mare. She's a strong willed, stubborn and sometimes rebellious genius. She is very intelligent and knows it, making her seem arrogant at times. She runs into danger headfirst, not thinking of any consequences. She loves danger and the adrenaline rushes that come with it. She loves to make mischief and one of her favorite past times is to prank others. She listens to no one, and no one can stop her if she's set her mind on something.
Sekhmet is also always making snarky remarks and sarcastic comebacks. Her independent and energetic personality can often annoy quieter people. Nonetheless, she doesn’t care what others think of her in the least, and loves the spotlight. Often times she can be found mumbling less than nice things under her breath.
It's indisputable that Sekhmet has a tough girl facade. However, that's just what it is, a facade. If your fortunate enough to befriend her, she'll be loyal to the end and you'll get a (very strong) defender for life. It takes a while to gain her trust and get to this buried part of her, but it's worth it. On the other hand, she's a horrid enemy to have, as she knows no bounds. She will hunt you down if you ever wrong her, no matter how long it takes. Another thing, under all of her arrogance and sarcasm, Sekhmet is exceedingly insecure in her abilities. She is always doubting herself and her decisions. She's eternally afraid of failing, and becoming that which she despises.
Friends: Her closest friends are the two mares she grew up with. They are thick as thieves and some of the others in the barn call them the Unholy Trinity, since from birth, they have constantly caused everyone trouble together. I am of course talking of Arson, and Apocalypse. The three of them are all fiery, rebellious mares (each in her own special way) and together they are the main cause of all the trouble at Lilies of the Valley Ranch. Sekhmet is the leader of the little group, and comes up with all their devious schemes or adventures.
Foes: Sekhmet is disliked by many of the horses as Lillies, but the only one she'd call a true foe is Poseidon. As the lead stallion, Poseidon's job is to keep the others in line and to make sure no one gets hurt. Thus, naturally Sekhmet would despise him.

Show Name: Styled By Papyrus
Barn Name: Seshat
Seshat (also given as Sefkhet-Abwy and Seshet) is the Egyptian goddess of the written word. Her name literally means "female scribe". She is the patron of libraries and all forms of writing, including census and accounting work.
Gender: Mare
Age: 9
Halter color: Keep
Pearl/jewel color (halter): Keep
☥Seshat walked through the golden, stone pillars that marked the edge of the arena, her neck arched, prancing in the way that only horses in their own space can be. She was back in the most beautiful country in the world, her ancestral home, and as far as she was concerned, Egypt was hers. Her rider had brought her over for the World Cup of Showjumping, and it was taking place in one of the old grand ruins. They had done well at the last four rounds, and this fifth one, they both felt confident with.
This was the first time since she was born and raised that she had come back to the desert laden country, and though she couldn't remember too much of it, it still felt automatically like she belonged. As they started cantering around the outside of the arena, warming up, she felt the eyes watching her. She knew she had a stunning, unique coat, that drew the eye, and this added to her thrill. She wasn't vain, but she enjoyed that she was good at what she did, and the feeling of pride she held at the moment was unmatchable.
As the bell rang and the round started, as her rider lined her up with the first fence, the mare felt the focus and drive settle deep in her chest, running all through her body. Energy coursed through her veins, and she knew she was going to do a good job. Each obstacle came up perfectly, the timing and beat steady and smooth, as if the arena and sand itself were aiding them in their endeavour. There was almost an electric feeling with them, and the crowd was silent as they watched, unable to make a sound or move. What was happening in front of them was just too breathtaking to watch.
The sun shone down and made the mares coat shine, almost a bright mahogany, and her markings seemed to shine extra bright. As they came to the final jump, there started a buzz of excitement. It was the first clear round of the day, and certainly the fastest. The crowd all but held their breath, waiting for the moment...
As they leapt over the last jump, and Seshat's hooves touched the other side, the cheering took over the arena. It was almost deafening, and the mare knew she had done an amazing job. They took out the day with flying colours, and, as Seshat was settling down into her temporary stable, now alone, she watched the setting of the sun from her airy box stall. The air was clear, the breeze light and beautiful. The world was right, and the mare was home. ☥Personality: Seshat is a beautiful mare and unique mare, with incredible talent. She is a great jumper, and it was found very quickly that she is a very athletic horse. She is intelligent, and a quick learner, able to pick up new training quickly. She is quite friendly with the others at the estate, when she is at home and not travelling, a qualified international showjumper.

The Eye of Horus, also known as the "all seeing eye", is a powerful symbol of protection in ancient Egypt. The symbol was frequently used in jewellery made of gold, silver, lapis, wood, porcelain, and carnelian, to ensure the safety and health of the bearer and provide wisdom and prosperity.

The sun has a deep significance to the Ancient Egyptians, and represents the Sun God, Ra. All forms of life were believed to have been created by Ra, who called each of them into existence by speaking their secret names.

Egyptian hieroglyphs were the formal writing system used in Ancient Egypt, with a total of some 1,000 distinct characters. Although hieroglyphic writing consisted of pictures, the writing was more phonetic (based upon the sounds of a language, like our alphabet) than symbolic (pictures representing actual things or ideas).
Muffy, you are more than welcome to a slot!☥
