Collar: Blue spikes
What is their favorite metal and why?: Deces Anubis loves Iron! Why, you might ask? Because Deces loves how shiny it is, and finds it to be soothing to the touch. She enjoys iron because it also reminds her of the moon, if it were more silvery colored, and she loves the moon, and often spends her nights watching it while touching different pieces of iron

Oni
Gender:
Female
Collar:
This collar?
What is their favorite metal and why?:
Oni's favorite metal is Bismuth. Oni can't wrap her head on what she's heard about it- brittle quality, glinting appearance.... it goes against everything she's ever known about a metal. More importantly however, Oni has heard stories of pure bismuth and it's elusive counterpart, "rainbow bismuth" (artificial bismuth). She's convinced both of these gleaming metals have special properties, aligning with Diwali's light-and-bright theme. Healing or witch-craft properties, she doesn't know, but it certainly appeals to her. In her mind, she imagines a glittery, opaque metal, facets in all the right places like a Diamond; a glittery ware that she can talk endlessly about to other dogs. So, if someone were to ever ask her what her favorite metal was, she would gladly answer with "Bismuth" and launch into a speech of why it's the best metal ever- without ever having seen it!
Personality:
Jumpy and excitable, Oni is nothing like her outward appearance. Her mind is always in two different places at the same time, and always wondering about trivial things. While she may have a resting death glare, it's in no way intended rudely; it's just her deep-thought-face. She often takes everything a dog says to heart, and will share any rumor or gossip she hears without second thought. She's a loyal friend, although she is a big blabber-er, and says the first thing that comes to mind- hurtful or not. She's a bit detached from the whole concept of "social expectation", frankly, and when faced with how much she knows about the world in general, she may as well be living under a rock. Nevertheless, she loves to learn and soaks up information like a sponge. To put it simply, she always has one ear open for a friend.. and the other for new sounds to explore!

❰ Male ❱
❰ Nicknames ❱
Khonsu, Jarvis
❰ Collar ❱
Simple Chain Collar with an Arc Reactor Dog Tag
❰ Favorite Metal & Why ❱
Titanium
Titanium practically saved Khonsu’s life.
Oh, he undeniably values the metal for its aesthetic
qualities— he thinks it looks beautifully segmented
in its crystalline form,
deceiving the eye into thinking that the metal would
fracture under the barest amounts of force. In its
refined form, titanium gleams proudly as it showcases
strength that can rival steel. But, titanium holds
so much more significance to Khonsu beyond its
looks and qualities. The potential to build beyond limits,
to create masterpieces, to mend even the
unmendable… Yes, Khonsu holds a great deal of love for
titanium. After all, the metal allowed him to walk once
more.
As titanium alloy screws sit embedded in the bones of his
hips and lower spine, he cherishes every day that he can
simply wag his tail or greet his owner at the door without
having his legs uselessly drag behind him. It feels as if,
sometimes, the titanium under his skin gives him the extra
strength to conquer even his lowest days.

❰ Personality ❱
Age tempered Khonsu into a fairly meticulous and sophisticated dog. His ability to be both clever and poised
allows him to exude a sort of quiet charm. His currently shrewd nature is a far cry from his youth, however.
In his early years, Khonsu was much more high strung and decidedly cocky. He lived and breathed competition
as a prized racing dog, and he rarely hesitated to show just how much his skill made him a hot commodity.
Khonsu is silently grateful that he matured over the years.
Though not particularly old in the grand scheme of things, Khonsu is certainly getting on in his years, and
his past injuries only makes his bones creak that much more. He’s known to occasionally sulk from his aches
and pains, but he does it more so for the sake of garnering amusement from another pet or human. When
there’s something that needs to be done, no matter the importance, Khonsu readily quiets his playful
griping and buckles down to finish the task with a diligence brought about by conditioned training. Though
he bemoans his old age in jest, his racer’s blood still runs strong beneath his veins.
Alongside his meticulous nature, Khonsu’s intelligence rivals even the smartest dogs. He’s quick to pick up on
commands and analyze situations and even quicker to rationalize through the toughest problems. His keen
nature means that he easily picks up on the needs of his family, but his hyper-vigilance towards his loved ones
means that he can be somewhat indifferent towards those he doesn’t know. To outsiders, Khonsu can be
surprisingly cold, but his family knows him as a witty male who always has an ear open for them, no matter
the time or place.
❰ History ❱
Khonsu was once a prized as an award-winning racing dog. He belonged to an agency rather than any one
singular owner, so he admittedly lacked the home environment that most pet dogs have the luxury to
experience. Khonsu only remembers structured years of conditioning from handlers who treated him
well, though not very personally.
However, the fact that he wasn’t breed standard only made him stand out among his fellow racers as a
black stallion rather than a black sheep. He was lauded for the power he exhibited behind every stride
and jump, enough to where his speed could rival a borzoi’s or saluki’s. He adored the fast-paced
competition until he could adore it no longer.
His fame and consistent success gave him numerous rivals and more than one jealous enemy in the hound
racing community. Undeterred, he continued on in his career with a head held high until an envious dog
owner decided to target him. The human stole him from the racing agency in an effort to profit off of
both Khonsu and the rights to his studdings. And the malicious owner would have succeeded in taking
Khonsu away had Khonsu not used his quick thinking to escape. However, that fateful day proved to be
far from exhausting its terrors. It was near pitch black as Khonsu tried to make his way back home when
he was struck by a car that mangled his back legs and nearly paralyzed him from the waist down.
Though the agency was able to find him again through a tracking chip and pay for his wounds to be
healed, they couldn’t afford to keep Khonsu once they determined that he would never be able to race
like he did in his prime ever again. His only saving grace was his prior success, in the end; the agency felt
it owed Khonsu another chance at a new life, but his time as a professional racing dog was over.
In his new home, however, Khonsu finds himself missing professional racing less and less with each
passing day. His new family exposed him to adventures that he would never have experienced as a racer.
The struggles he went through in his rehabilitation made him treasure each passing day where’s he’s able
to walk and run with his family. No need to get first place in this sort of race.
❰ Greatest Loves- Hunting ❱
Alongside the racing that he seems to live and breathe, Khonsu also holds a love for hunting. As a racing dog,
his talents were utilized only for the track so he never got to experience the exhilaration of a hunt until after
he joined his first family. Nowadays, he loves to hunt small game alongside Sheikha, (or even occasionally
Kurama when the prickly tomcat softens up enough to spend an afternoon with the two hounds) and he takes
great pride in his ability to flush out even the most elusive prey, like wild rabbits or the occasional squirrel.
He counts it a good day when he’s able to snag a pesky goose with Sheikah at his side.
❰ Greatest Fears- Losing His Family ❱
At one point, Khonsu believed that he had experienced the ultimate fear when he nearly lost his ability to walk,
but now that he’s surrounded by both dogs and cats who love him as much as he adores each of them, the one
thing he fears the most is losing the family he gained due to his circumstance. Despite any initial wariness and
hiccups, he came to bond with those in his home and now could not bear to think of being separated from either
his owner or his pack.███
