DESCRY
In their early years, Urodeles and Astrapi were like two peas in a pod, mostly because Astrapi would not let her brother out of her sight. Astrapi tended to be loud and nosy, emulating Muna's fierce protectiveness in her own confident, sometimes tricky sort of way. She was extremely proud of this, often declaring that 'that's what Muna would do!'
Urodeles and Astrapi, being together all the time, would get into the sibling squabbles and 'annoy the other as much as possible' games. Astrapi's favorite game was the classic 'copy everything they say'. She had a knack for observation and humorous impressions. On one particular day, Urodeles had turned the tables. He had managed, entirely by accident, to copy Astrapi's likeness.
After a panicked run back to their parents, Lacertus sorted everything out, proudly declaring that Urodeles was a Descry element gator. He immediately took him under his wing, and their training began. At first, Astrapi would tag along, bring food, and even occasionally help with some confusing maneuvers. However, as Urodeles' training continued and his skills improved, Astrapi became more distant. She would go off and explore on her own sometimes, even occasionally leaving Muna's set borders, much to their anger and worry.
WIND
Muna, after having made specifically sure that Lacertus and fledgling descry manipulator Urodeles were practicing in the safest way possible and outside the den, called Astrapi to come help them gather food. Perhaps they'd noticed how lonely their child felt.
Astrapi hadn't been happier in weeks.
"Muna, Muna, look!" Astrapi said, jumping up and down and grinning her widest grin. "I'm a wind element gator!"
"Astrapi, you'll find your element out when you will," Muna said tenderly. "You know we'll love you no matter what your element is." A swift pang came with the memory of the night Astrapi was born, when they'd asked what element she was.
"But it's true!" the little gator insisted. "I'll show you!"
She'd seen from some of her friends how they'd show off their wind abilities. Most often it was through breathing underwater. She bounded off in excitement toward the deeper marshland where there we plenty of reeds and plenty of water.
"ASTRAPI, WAIT!" Muna had yelled. But the little thing was too excited that she knew how to breathe underwater with a reed in her mouth.
Just before she could jump in with her reed snorkel, Muna grabbed her and pulled her away, immediately flying into a rage on the dangers of water. Finding out about the reed made her even angrier, as that was a lie, a lie that could have cost their child her life!
It may seem ridiculous, but as soon as the initial anger and fear waned, Astrapi respected Muna all the more for this. She wanted to become someone so caring and careful as Muna, and she also desperately wanted to make her mother happy.
NATURE
"Did Muna scare you, Aster?" Circadia asked, smoothing the little gator's fur down gently. "You have to understand them, okay?"
"What... happened?" she asked.
Circadia blinked. "It's not my story to tell," she said. The pause afterward lengthened, with Astrapi in a mixture of fear and worry for Muna. "But I can give you an idea. Come with me."
Astrapi had a love for wandering just as Circadia did, and was always excited to go on their trips, their prank sprees, their scavenger hunts. It was through this that she'd found she loved human machines, taking them apart and putting them back together, seeing if they'll run.
Circadia brought her to a cave where a skylight was in the middle. At the dead center of that beam of light was a little mound of soil. Circadia gave Astrapi a seed she'd been hiding under her tongue.
"Go ahead, plant it," she said. "You don't have to be a nature element gator to plant a tree."
After digging at the soil and placing the seed, Circadia said: "You see the darkness all around?"
"Yes."
"It's to protect the seed," she said. "Think of a little gator who plants little shrubs everywhere."
"They'd get stepped on," Astrapi continued.
"That's why they'd plant in a separated place like this, so they'd be safe."
Astrapi looked up at Circadia.
"I want to take care of the little seed," she said.
"Let's do that together."
LITTLE BROTHER
Years later:
"Delly, I think I got it!" Astrapi said suddenly, in that loud, cheerful way she had when she felt like a 'big sister'. It effectively broke her brother's slowly-turning-into-frustration concentration.
Urodeles had been practicing the same movement for the last few hours and hadn't quite gotten the hang of it. He learned things fairly quickly, and the difficulty he was experiencing with this one was beginning to get to his nerves.
"Uh, sure?" he muttered, he was, understandably, a bit miffed.
"You start with three deep breaths," she said, getting into starting pose. "then back foot forward. You were doing both at too close to the same time. Try it!"
"Okay," Urodeles said. He didn't seem as happy for her help as he was when they were a little bit younger. There was a bit of silence as neither of them moved.
"I'll be over by the Big Tree if you need me," Astrapi mumbled as she slunk off.
TOYS
A young, red-swirled Gator was again growling to herself in frustration in the same cave beside a thriving little shrub as she angrily took her toy apart for the fifth time today.
"Maybe you should attach the little gear to the big gear," a voice came from behind her.
"Urodeles!" she grinned, jumping up from her work. For a second they exchanged glances, and the air cleared. "What was it... you were saying?"
Urodeles grinned as he took his position on the opposite end of the contraption, just like old times. [980/1000]

relationship with mother, Muna: Astrapi deeply wants to impress Muna. Even when she was little she wanted to copy her mother's every move, and even when they were distant, chattered a lot to them. Ever since her first encounter with Muna's wrath, and Circadia's kindness, she'd become extremely cautious about letting her mother worry, and a lot more diligent in following the rules. She is now much more careful and sensitive to other people and gator's feelings. Through Muna she learns to be observant and critical, as well as principled. She knows how to stand her ground and protect the people she loves.
Though her recklessly inquisitive nature often clashes with Muna's protectiveness, the two of them have some sort of understanding, mostly through each other's dedication and empathy. Both of them can be many things, but the fact that they love each other is most important.
Astrapi tries to be as bright and happy as she can be, especially around Muna. Sometimes when she sees that they are feeling a little down, she'd curl up beside them or show them her latest little knick-knacks.
Because of this, she takes pride in her work of piecing together human machines, and while this isn't really something Muna approves of, they give her a little bit of allowance. Perhaps they see her dedication and love. Of course they see her dedication and love.
