She quickly bounded over to see a butterfly she had never seen before. Azura carefully wrapped her paws around it, being cautious not to bend the delicate wings. Oh how excited she had been as she raced back to show him the little gift she had found. Prairie had been lounging nearby, taking in the warmth of the sun when Azura returned with the butterfly. Azura had always been curious and full of energy which Prairie found charming. Upon opening her paws the butterfly fluttered to sit upon her should and Prairie studied it a bit.

"Ah, that is a pretty one you have there." He said as they both watched it stretch it's wings.

"I have never seen this type before. Do you know what it is Uncle?" Azura asked before it fluttered around her and landed on Prairie's outstretch paw.

"I do believe it is a Limenitis arthemis astyanax. Also known as a Red-Spotted Purple butterfly." He answered before blowing on it carefully.

The butterfly took flight and landed on Azura's muzzle. She giggled as she looked down at the butterfly as it unrolled it's tongue and licked at her fur. Azura carefully shook her head, sending the butterfly into flight. The butterfly soared around the pair for a few more moments before gliding across the field of flowers to resume its search for nectar. Azura went back to searching for butterflies but doesn't recall finding any others that day.

For some reason that butterfly sticks in her mind more than any of the others, even though there were plenty of other days filled with butterflies. That individual butterfly, a Red-Spotted Purple butterfly. What a funny name for a butterfly.

Story(unlimited words):
Not many travelling troupe's exist anymore. With the amazing capabilities of technology and the connectedness of the planet there is no longer a call for such trivial entertainment. At least, that is exactly what the last town had cried as Emil's troupe was run out of their god fearing town. His troupe, Creed's Uncanny Crew, wasn't the largest group of travelling Viscet but were proud, well practiced and understood the social implications of each town. What it's people liked, didn't like and things that were to avoid being stated. However, the previous town had obviously come under new management as the civilians now feared the gods his troupe once sung to them about. Emil sighed heavily on the back of his wagon, holding his banjo between his paws. It wasn't a good sign that his adoptive family hadn't received any coin for their troubles, soon there would be no money left. If the next town ran them out...
Emil shook his head to rid himself of the painful thoughts and began mindlessly strumming a tune on his banjo. While he still had his music and his troupe, everything would be fine. He would make sure of it.

    Aurora slightly twitched in her sleep, lying upon a straw bed in a forest hut she lived in. The windows were just open gaps, but at the very least she had a solid wooden door for the entrance. A silver and blue bird rest on the window sill of a gap, tweeting furiously. The creature seemed almost desperate to wake the viscet back into consciousness, ruffling its feathers in annoyance as she still hadn’t awoken.

    Eventually, with drowsiness and some grumbling, Aurora sat up and stretched her arms. She blinked the tired feeling dragging at her eyelids and focused on the bird. With a grouchy frown, she mumbled, “oh, so you woke me up?” The bird gave a single call in response, and she took it as a ‘yes.’ Aurora dragged herself out of the straw bed, straightening her messy mane a bit and then opening the creaky wooden door. As soon as she left her hut the bird took flight, hovering just in front of her, then heading in a direction she hadn’t gone yet. “Woah—hey, where do you think you’re going?!” She raced after the avian, fueled by anger. The bird dropped suddenly, reaching her level again after a few minutes. Aurora skid to a halt when she finally caught up to it. “You’re awful rude—” she was cut off when she turned her head to where it was facing, eyes widening as a large cave opening stretched out to them.

    “Oh.”

    The fowl chirped and flew inside, leaving Aurora baffled. She had no idea exactly where she was now, and she wasn’t sure if she trusted the bird or the cave… but, curiosity grasped the best of her, and she found herself wandering inside. The cavern was dark, causing her to squint a little to try to adjust her eyes to the darkness. With sudden alarm she scrambled to a stop when her toes clung to the edge of a cliff. The wind almost seemed to drag her down, making her body feel heavy. Losing her balance, she fell forward, shrieking as she expected to drop—except, her arms found a platform, and she hauled her body onto it. It all happened at once; fireflies lit up the area faintly, and a low rumble seemed to echo throughout the cave system. More platforms leading to the other side came into her view, and hesitantly, she hopped across them. One after another, Aurora made it safely to the other cliff.

    She sensed she was in a hallway as the air became still, and a feeling at the back of her mind pushed her forward. With a few more steps onward, the hallway lit itself—revealing a stretch of walls etched with so many relieves, it took her a moment to process just what they were. With a more careful look, she noticed what the reliefs were of. Torches lined the walls.

    On the left, a viscet laid regally in what seemed to be clouds, floating above their world. The viscet appeared so strangely yet distinctly, adorned with a necklace with a bell on it. She slowly sauntered down the hall, immersed with the pictures. As she continued, Aurora noticed another viscet that stood out to her so oddly, yet for no reason. In fact, it almost was a spinning image of her. It showed the viscet exploring a cave much like her, making their way through obstacles and finding a great treasure. Before she knew it, she had gone through the entire hallway and was stopped at a large stone door. Words were engraved above that read;

    “ONLY THOSE CHOSEN MAY ENTER THIS CHAMBER.
    YOUR HEART MUST BE PURE, AND YOU MUST BE
    WILLING TO TAKE THIS ROLE OFFERED.”

    Aurora was baffled—she was that viscet that found the treasure? Her eyes traveled down the wall until she found two impressions on the door; they appeared to be viscet paws, pressed firmly into the stone. Hesitantly, she placed her paws into the engravings, and another low rumbling resounded—only this time, the ground shook and the door opened up. Darkness stretched out in front of her, but she felt no fear for what was held within it. Carefully, she stepped into it, stumbling over uneven flooring and the occasional rock on the ground. A gentle light caught her eyes and she focused onto it, making her way toward it.

    The light emitted from a pedestal, which upon it was items she had never seen before. Stunned, she cautiously picked one up, examining it to her best ability. Without warning the bird flew in from the darkness, snatching the item from within her hands and instead placing it upon her head. “Wh...what are these?” Aurora was speechless with awe and wonder as the bird carefully placed each item onto her. Bracelets slid over her paws and rested snugly onto her wrists, and a bag slightly slouched over her neck and shoulders. She felt the item placed on her head; it seemed to be some sort of metallic helmet, adorned with jewels and feathers in an elegant way. The bracelets matched it, fitted with feathers facing outward from their sides. Oddly, the accents on the apparel matched hers; it was subtle, but the more she looked the more the realization hit.

    Suddenly, her vision darkened as her body began to feel lighter. It was like a great weight she had all her life was just lifted, and in response, all she could do was breathe. Her senses heightened, and her nose took in scents stronger, and she became aware of all the sounds echoing throughout the cavern. A strong, foul smell caught her attention, and her ears picked up footsteps so light she wouldn’t have picked up on them earlier. She spun around towards the dark, seeing so many pairs of yellow orbs staring back at her. Vicious growls and snarls filled her ears, and without hesitation she bolted out of the room. The beasts followed swiftly behind her, but for some reason, Aurora moved so much quicker than she did before. If it wasn’t for the enchanted items, she wouldn’t have escaped unscathed from them. She lost them completely at the room with the platforms, practically gliding across them with ease.

    Huffing, she skid to a halt outside, surprised at her now forever changed world. She turned back towards the cave when a familiar chirping came from inside, and the bird from earlier came fluttering out. It landed easily onto the helm upon her head and peered down at her, almost appearing… proud? Aurora snorted at it, “oh, wipe that smile off your face!” The bird lifted off, hovering in front of her face yet again, but this time heading back into the forest. Confused, she followed blindly after it. Distressed cries hit her ears and she picked up speed, gliding across the ground with such grace she has yet to adjust to.

    Aurora quickly found the source—it was a sobbing viscling, balled up in the middle of a clearing. With caution, she approached them, calling out softly. “Hey—hey, it’s okay. I can help you,” she slowly walked up to them, trying her best to not intimidate them. Alas, the viscling still shrunk inward, appearing frightened at her sudden appearance. Eventually it relaxed with a shaky sigh, and brought itself to its feet. “Are you lost? Where’s your parents?” The viscling shook its head as it trembled, “I d-don’t know where they a-are…” they looked up earnestly towards her in helplessness. “Here, I can help you, but you need to trust me. Okay?” She reached out her arms towards them, which caused them to shrink back again. After the small shock, they hesitantly stumbled over into her arms, and she lifted them upwards gently.

    “Where did you last see them?” She asked, lifting them onto her shoulders, giving them the cue to latch on. Their voice was still shaky, but improved. “T-that way,” they nodded northward, and Aurora nodded. “Okay. Hold on tight,” the viscling was confused, but caught on as she suddenly took off. She sprinted for a few minutes until the viscling called out. “W-wait—we’re here!” She slowed to a stop as they came up on rows of homes, much sturdier and stronger than Aurora’s miniscule hut. An anxious viscet mother caught Aurora’s gaze, looking around frantically for her lost child. Aurora lifted the viscling off her shoulders and it scrambled enthusiastically towards her with cheerful calls. The two embraced as they shared a moment of relief, before they turned back towards Aurora. She gave a gentle smile, and the viscling’s mother grinned thankfully. Aurora felt pride swell in her chest; she wasn’t known for helping others—if she’s known at all—but this was heartwarming.

    She turned, expecting to see the familiar bird hovering by her shoulder—except it wasn’t there.

It was hard to judge but in end I decided that Muttgirl310 is the winner! This is very simple, but I'm a simple guy, and I love butterflies! I also loved the interaction between Azura and her uncle! Take care of this bab, Muttgirl! <3
