(this is done from the perspective that he is an anthro type creature)
Dorian sighed deeply trying not to look at his withering mother that laid within the hospital bed. Her face pale and eyes heavy, exhausted and nearing her end. "Dorian" His mother coughed violently after each word it a tremendous stain on her as Dorian tried to soothe her "mother you must rest if your to return home...." he said sadly a tear rolling down his fur covered cheek. She continued to cough gripping tightly onto his leather jacket whimpering in pain as a small kit wondered into the room. Her face full of fear and sadness. The little kit ran from the room tears rolling freely down her face Dorian looking worried in the direction she had fled. He returned his gaze to his dying mother "Dorian you have to be strong.... you need to look after her my little prince..." She smiled sadly as a tear fell down her pale cheeks. "Go find your sister..." She said pushing him very lightly and weakly. Nodding his head slightly he began to walk off finding her trying to reassure her. "Sis mums gonna be fine you know that. Don't cry cause she will be back at home in a few days you know that... now go and find the other kids for a bit ok? I've got to go and find a nurse or something... " She nodded pecking Dorian lightly on the cheek. Slowly he bagan to trudge back into the room his mother was held. Doctors and nurses around her as Dorian's eyes widened his heart sinking. "W-w-what's happening?!" he stammered yelling in his sheer panic. A nurse turning round as she pulled him away from the bedside "I'm so sorry... b-but she has passed on..." His legs going weak as he fell to the ground a pool of tears between his legs. He didn't even realize he had been crying.
Three years have passed since that day and his sister has never forgiven him for making her leave. His nightmares haunted by his dead mother left alone in the world to support his sister. He had to be strong. NO longer the little prince his mother had called him but the king and stability the family needed.
Art will be done at a later date

The wind blew dryly across the bleak landscape. I shivered slightly, before shaking some of the never-ending dust out of my coarse fur.
A King of a no-mans land. What good am I? There is nothing to rule over. Nothing is left.
Once, here there prospered a great land, that has now left behind a deep mystery. There was a Castle, and grand one at that. Some say it was built to the likes of the chambers described in the castle in Edgar Allan Poe's work, The Masque of the Red Death. I wouldn't know if they were true, All I ever knew of the castle was its external features. One could only guess what the structure inside was like.
There were towns, marketplaces, fields. All in a sizable portion of Land, perhaps around the size of New Zealand. I was loner, roaming the streets, making ends meet by thievery or by any money I might procure by doing small jobs. I slept in fields and alleyways.
And then I left.
I preferred the sweet fresh smell of the woodland, and stepped a stable life there. I traveled far, and was in seclusion for years. In the end, I just simply count stand the looniness anymore. The fact that I was miles away from anyone. So I came back to th kingdom I knew. I traveled back and crossed seas I had previously crossed, and trekked trails I had used. I looked for some marks I had left on my way, small pieces of cloths tied around trees, and the such. I found none of them.
And when I finally exited the forest line, I gazed in disbelief at the wasteland. I don
t understand dhow it could just leave, especially the population that had ceased to exist. I may be the inly resident left- A self proclaimed king.
I sighed and sat down on the dust, exhausted. What happens now?
