Gender:
Genderqueer // AFAB // He/Him Pronouns
Orientation:
Panromantic Demisexual // Slight prefrence for guys
Theme:
History Maker - Dean Fujioka

Personality:
Yuuri is shy and usually rather uncomfortable around horses that he doesn't know. Because of this, he finds it hard to make new friends and is often off on his own. He doesn't fully get comfortable around others until he understands that they accept him. After that, he is affectionate, playful, and ready to do almost anything for his friends. He tends to be cowardly in the face of danger but is more willing to help when he is with his friends. He can be stubborn when he sets his mind on a goal and doesn't give up easily if he thinks he can do it.
Importance:
I relate to Yuuri from Yuuri on Ice a lot in my opinion. We're both somewhat feminine guys who aren't always what people expect them to be. We're both afraid of failure and aren't good with dealing with it when it happens. Yet we are more than that at the same time. We're kind, soft-hearted, easily embarrassed, and quite stubborn! As a trans guy/masculine presenting qenderqueer guy, it's really nice seeing someone who I think is a lot like me. Someone who has found people who love him and who he loves, both as friends and as a partner. I hope that I can one day have the same thing that Yuuri has, A group of wonderful and accepting friends and family and an amazing partner who will stay by my side throughout my life.

Relationships:
Yuuri is without a doubt a hopeless romantic. He dreams of finding the perfect partner and staying with them for the rest of his life. He isn't all that good at making friends but he loves the idea of having a large group of friends who he can learn to laugh with and not have to be afraid of being excluded.
Relationship with Peaches and Cream[Peaches/Peach]:
Despite the rocky start to their relationship, Peach and Yuuri are rather good friends! Yuuri is still rather wary of the rash and motherly older mare, but they look out for each other. Peach treats him as if he was still a yearling, being sure to check that he is eating enough and getting enough exercise. He often just enjoys listening to her tell stories as they shelter from rain, liking the comforting way her slight southern accent makes her sound.
Relationship with Slate:
Slate and Yuuri don't get along that well. Slate sees Yuuri just as someone who took his favorite sleeping spot whereas Yuuri sees Slate as a troublemaker. Despite that, the two still have their moments when they get along. Slate has even protected Yuuri from a snake hiding in his stall, even though Yuuri was rather grossed out by the mess he left behind. Slate often spends his time napping in the stables or watching Yuuri during his dressage lessions

I'm not that good with pixel art, even when using bases, so I'm pretty glad with how this turned out! The eyes didn't really work though XD
Short Stories:
Yuuri looked out across the green pasture warily. His new home was very different from his last one, where a light dusting of snowfall had already coated the ground. The colors seemed too bright to his tired eyes. After being unable to sleep on the overnight trailer ride to his new home from the isolated paddock, he was more than ready to get some sleep. He pricked his ears as he heard the another horse neighing from the nearby stables. Watching as his new human walked the horse to the paddock next to his, he felt himself fill with anxiety. How would this new horse react to him? Would they try to start a fight? Or cause him to hurt himself trying to get away? The horse, a light palomino mare, trotted over to the fence line and raised her nose to catch his scent. Yuuri lowered his head and started grazing, keeping the mare in his peripheral vision. She didn't seem threatening, just curious. He paused and looked fully towards her before slowly ambling over to the fence.
To say that Peach was confused would be an understatement. Her human had brought home a new horse and put them in her paddock. Now she was in the neighboring paddock, and while it still had the same grass and water, this one was smaller. She lifted her nose to the wind and realized that this horse was a mare! How odd, a horse that smells of a mare yet acts like a stallion! She was definitely interested in this odd horse now. The younger horse approached, keeping their head low and clearly trying to act like they weren't a threat.
"I'm guessing you're the new horse my human was talking about?" She asked as they stopped a few feet from the fence.
"I suppose so. I'm Yuuri." They replied, shifting their weight awkwardly.
"Yuuri huh? Bit of a weird name, even for a mare. I'm Peach, it's nice to meet ya."
"Oh! Uhm, I'm actually a stallion..." Yuuri quickly corrected her.
Peach looked him up and down before responding. "Well alright, if you say so. It wouldn't be the first time I've met a horse who's a little different."
Yuuri pricked his ears, "Really? What were they like?" He asked, seeming almost excited. Peach couldn't help but smile at the young stallion.
"She was a mare who liked mare. Quite a nice gal but I didn't get to know her much. Too busy with shows, ya know?"
Yuuri nodded and his happy expression dropped. "I went to a dressage show once but I was too nervous to talk to anyone and I ended up not doing well. I think that's why my old human got rid of me."
Peach's ears drooped in sadness. "Now don't talk like that, alright? Forget your old human! This one is probably one of the best out there, I guarantee!" She smiled as Yuuri looked a little more hopeful. "Now then, lets head back to the barn and get some food! I'm sure you're tired after your ride here!"
━━ ━━ ━━ ━━ ━━ ━━
Yuuri sighed as he lied down in his hay-filled stall, listening to the soothing sound of rain hitting the roof of the stables. He had always loved rainstorms, even when he was a foal. He had adjusted well to life at his new home with only slight issues. He lifted his head ah he heard the distinct jingling of a bell. Yuuri wasn't at all surprised when the black and grey cat jumped onto his stall door, dripping wet with rain water.
"Is there something I can help you with?" He asked Slate. Even though the two of them often didn't get along, he wasn't going to be rude.
"Would you mind if I hung out in here? Just till the rain stops?" Slate stopped for a moment and looked conflicted before continuing, "Please?"
Yuuri was surprised! It was unusual for Slate to be polite when asking to sleep in his stall. "Sure, make yourself at home."
"Thanks." The cat grumbled as he jumped down onto the warm hay and started licking his pelt in an attempt to dry. Yuuri rested his head back on the ground, his eyelids getting heavy. It wasn't often that he would have the comfort of someone watching over him while he slept. He decided to take advantage of both the rain and Slate's watchful eyes and slowly fell into a peaceful sleep.

It's been so long since I actually worked on a story! I hope it isn't too messy!
