name; Nora
gender; Female
Personality: …… Nora likes to spend the majority of her time exploring the world and meeting new people. She loves sharing her experiences with them, traveling with different types of viscets to places she's never been, and figuring out just how she fits into society. When alone she ponders what this new look on life means, what she's meant to do, and whether or not she should try to find meaning or fill her time with new experiences. To most she seems friendly, open minded, determined, and yet gullible. She's completely graceless, not clumsy, but does everything with little to no grace. She's more than a tad naive, and very open about how she feels. Talking about what she's thinking is a constant for her. When told to shut up, she gets louder, tears welding in her eyes while she speaks. This is due to the fact that she has no idea how other's train of thought works, well that and that she's positive that her's is somehow defective. Meaning that at a certain point she can't think about things further. Talking seems to help her continue her thought process, traveling down rabbit holes she wouldn't have been able to had she kept her thoughts to herself. [206]
History:……There are plenty of tidbits of her life that she remembers that occurred before she suffered a massive injury while on summer break no more than five years ago, which resulted in temporally graded retrograde amnesia. Things like making her bed, spraining her ankle, and playing some kind of game in school are a little hazy but rememberable. Since she doesn't remember her childhood or really much else that lead up the event its best to start her history off with when she was stable enough to leave the hospital and return home to continue healing. Despite not recognizing them, she was released to the custody of her parents, who promised her recruiter that they'd let him know when she was fit to head off to bootcamp.
……Determined to get her back on track by next semester, her parents instead pushing her farther than she was comfortable with day by day. Keeping her on a strict routine, that eventually became somewhat of a modification of the one she grew up with. It didn't take long for tempers to flair, and for her parents to realize that the child they'd raised was gone, and that the one they had currently wasn't about to put up with their parenting style. Despite having had their daughter fight them throughout her recovery, they were still surprised that she did what ever she could to sneak away from them once she was healthy enough to leave the house.
…… She hated that every word that came out of their mouths were commands, that they treated her like a soldier, and that they expected her to do more than she was capable of and were disappointed when she didn't.
……It was difficult to coexist with one another, Nora demanding that they treat her like she currently was and not like she used to be, and her parents treating her like they'd always had. She hated the image she shared with her past life and how it never ceased to stop effecting the way others talked to her. It was difficult to get others to tell her about who she used to be, most who offered her something were reluctant to tell her much of anything, but from what she'd gathered, she was incredibly somber, had a yes sir attitude, respectful, punctual, tight, and at times, harsh.
……Upon returning home from one of the times she managed to sneak away, Nora was greeted by a pair of angry parents who proceeded to give her a lecture as to why she shouldn't have wandered off. The lecture eventually became a passionate one, that featured loud voices and tears, during which Nora realized that the life she'd forgotten wasn't one she wanted to pick up where she left off. She wasn't sure what she was expecting, but whatever it was, was far worse then she'd hoped for. Rather than them continue to push her around, Nora ended the argument by telling them, 'No wonder I joined the military. It's just like home but I got to get away from you!'. She'd hoped to storm out after that but soon after found herself locked in her room.
……Rather than stay there with the only viscets she'd known for the past few weeks, Nora hatched a plan as to how to escape from them along with the military-which she later in the week found out wasn't as hard as she would have expected . It took quite a bit of time for her plan to unfold, but once her head healed she packed her things, left her parents a note, and left without a word to either of them. In hind sight it seems a little harsh, but after living with them for an extended period of time with no recollection of their shared history, realized that if she told them about her plans to make her own way in the world, that they'd try to stop her. Little note about the future:……Her personality may become somewhat conflicted later on in life, being that temporally graded retrograde amnesia isn't permanent. Victims of the illness eventually recover most memories, it can however worsen memory recollection. Some patients recover faster than others while others can take decades. The amount recovered can also vary from specific instances to close to a full recovery. Although she doesn't know it, her past and present will someday collide almost constantly, making some every day decisions difficult to make. Although she currently doesn't remember the majority of what happened before the incident, things may gradually start to become clearer within a decade or so. [110]
