★ their favorite companion; uriel's favorite (and only) companion is a spix's macaw named neophyte. uriel met neophyte when they were both very young, and ended up saving neo from falling out of a tree during a storm. they've been inseparable ever since, doing just about everything together and rarely being seen apart.
neophyte is a tricky little bird, not one to show many emotions to anyone except those she's close to, but uriel has been with neophyte long enough to know how to determine the fickle macaw's moods. the two have an impressive amount of trust for each other, being most obvious when they work together as a team.
uriel and neophyte both have their own sets of problems, and they've come to find it helps to have someone who understands and is willing to listen and help. uriel deals with serious anxiety issues and paranoia, but with neo's help is able to chase it away most of the time and learn to trust others. in neo's case, she has problems paying attention and frequently experiences unpredictable mood swings that make it hard to interact with others, but uriel makes sure she knows she isnt alone and he'll always be available to listen to her. he gives her space is needed, and in return, she makes sure to be there for him when he needs the company.
most of their time is spent adventuring, seeing sights and visiting every single place within and even beyond their reach. after all, they say the sky's the limit, but who says the limit is the end? limits are meant to be broken, and each limit they face is only but an obstacle for the duo to push through.
one of the pair's favorite activities is goofing off in the sky and stretching their wings, and since they are both winged creatures, that makes everything much more convenient. it's become almost a ritual for uriel and neo to take one last flight before bed, watching the stars emerge from underneath the blanket of night and seeing the moon rise from its perch to shine brightly in the sky.
some might say the bond between the two if strange, since they are such different species, but neither uriel nor neophyte could care any less about how different they are. they're friends and they enjoy each other's company, and that's all that matters.
