Why is she not looking forward to Valentine's Day? Well, Agité has had a rather disappointing past in the area of love. As a filly, she relished the idea of romance and love. She'd often pester other mares who had mates about their love and ask singles why they didn't have mates already? She didn't understand that love was something that went both ways and couldn't just happen with anyone. Her naive self loved Valentines because everyone was so romantic and she didn't understand that love could sometimes be betrayed and hurt someone.

However, when Agité became a young mare, she discovered the truths of heartbreak. She was completely head over heels for one of the stallions at her farm named Ares. She also believed he loved her too. They were always together, and they'd spend countless hours out in the fields talking or watch the sun set. She believed they would be together forever and that he would never leave her. That is, until Agité found out by mean a close friend that Ares cheating with another mare. It was on Valentines and her friend, Psyche, told her in a soft tone that Horizon was with another mare and had been the entire time they'd been together. Agité didn't believe her friend at first, becoming furious that "she would tell such a lie", and in her anger thought that the only reason her friend would say this is because she wanted Ares all for herself. It never cross Agité's mind once that her friend could be telling the truth. She was too blinded by her love. She ran off to where her and Ares would always go to talk and enjoy each other's company: the fields. She arrived, finding him where she assumed he'd be, only to see him there with another mare as her friend had said.

Agité was heart broken and angry that she'd been so naive. She went back to Psyche, who forgave her and helped her slowly to get over what had happened. However, there was one thing that couldn't be fixed. This event destroyed Agité's image of love. Whenever she saw a pair of horses together, she always thought in her mind of how foolish they were to believe it would last. She became bitter towards any romance or thoughts of love. Now, every time Valentines comes around, she becomes even more irritated, as she's always reminded of what had happened. She doesn't think she'll ever find anyone who can break through her image and has settled into the idea of dying an old maid, unhappy and bitter.
Where would her ideal date be? Agité's ideal date would be watching the sun rise in a meadow full of flowers and tall grass with her love. She quite enjoys the morning and loves wide open fields of simple white flowers.

Why is she not looking forward to Valentine's Day?
Ahh, love seems to be in the air this time of year. Young colts and fillies awkwardly side by side expressing their love for each other, giving cute treats to each other and all that stuff young couples do. Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves until you reach a small pasture with a young mare alone. Why does she seem so alone this time of year you wonder to yourself. "Don't flatter yourself loverboy," she snaps, "I am perfectly fine on my own." You ask some other horses in your pasture what is up with her, as you just don't understand why anyone would want to be alone. One of the young mares, who must be one of her friends, approaches you slowly. "Oh, don't mind Heartbreaker. She has good reason for wanting nothing to do with the stallions around here. Last year, she was head over hooves in love with the most amazing stallion at the stable. He was in love with her too, and they had planned a future together that next year. However, last Valentines day, he left unexpectedly, and Heartbreaker had no idea where he went. She told me that he must have gone to another show, as he was the stable's most prized show horse. But she was rudely awakened when he returned with another mare from the show. Apparently, they had been together for some time, and she was already almost due with his foal. She was so angry, she did not know what to do. All we know is that both the stallion and the new mare got very sick, and after a trip to the vet, they never came back. Heartbreaker acted surprised about this, but deep inside, we all knew she was much happier seeing the both of them gone," the mare recalled. You stand there, not knowing exactly what to say. "Ever since then, she has talked about how happy she is being independent without a stallion to keep her happy, but really, as her friend, I believe that she has never filled the gap that was left in her heart from that stallion. His funeral was held here, and that netting she always wears was worn on the day of the funeral. She has never taken it off." You look at Heartbreaker and then walk away. You guess that she just closed her walls in fear of being hurt the way she was hurt before. She does not like Valentine's Day because of the decision of one stallion, and for some reason, it has always been a reminder of that day she was betrayed.

Where would her ideal date be? If she ever were to date again, she would long to go to a secluded beach where she and her lover could watch the sun set together and watch the stars on the beach.
