Casilda means "of the home". This name is very fitting to her because she creates homes for lost, abused, and abandoned pets. It started as a daily routine of visiting a park every day near a city to help them, but eventually she moved in with them. She tries her best to keep them safe. Its hard work taking care of so many stray cats, dogs, birds, and rabbits, but it's worth it. Many blankets are given to her by visitors to the park to help with warming her companions and some are even adopted by them.

This gif shows how the igloos would work, along with how Casilda would try to make any strays she helped happy. The igloos would be built just large enough to fit a certain group of animals that got along with each-other in them. Then the strays would be able to dig their own little 'burrows' in the igloos she built for them. Being packed under the snow with blankets in the igloo would keep them warmer. Casi isn't strict with how they build their burrow at all. She lets them play and even encourages them to as long as they stay safe. She will dig out the burrows for any of the pets that are unable to, or don't want to dig. Most of them do because it makes them feel more at home because they created it themselves.

The cat also represents her. When she gets really happy about something, or is just having a good day she will sometimes get random bursts of energy. Kind of like a bunny. Casi will run around and roll in the snow. Sometimes she will even run up to humans and try to get them to mess around too.

The second gif is the warmth Casi tries to create for the homeless pets and the park. Before she arrived at the park it was a sad place. It was always cold, the lake frozen over. Everything was nearly pure white and abandoned pets from the city shivered under the bushes. People from the city avoided the park because it was a depressing place to be, no one wanted to help. Casilda had originally went there to be alone, but it didn't take her long to see the sad eyes around her. She felt bad, but had nothing to give them. Instead she built an igloo. The pets could feel the difference in warmth on the inside of the igloo and packed inside. That igloo soon filled so she built more and more. There was no way she could just help a few of them, she would feel too guilty leaving the others. After she brightened up the park, many people came to see it. They gathered around to see her taking care of the strays and offered help in the form of fluffy blankets and old clothing. Every afternoon she lies by the edge of the water to watch the sun set.

His full name means 'Small Cinnamon Roll of the Winter' in French. His nickname is in the same language, but is just L'hiver. He prefers to be called Winter most of the timer, though. He got his name from being born on a snowy day in the winter, but his parents thought that he reminded them of cinnamon rolls. He smiles at the thought of when people say his name wrong, and give up and just say 'Winter' or 'Cinnamon' instead.

In all honesty, and to put it short, I just put those gifs there because of the corgi being cute and the red panda because they're adorable. For the long part:
A corgi coming out of the snow can describe out Winter's personality, along with the red panda. Winter is playful and full of energy, and he is unable to sit still for too long. He loves to play and will hide under snow and playfully pin down people that walk by. And with the panda, he is kind of clumsy, and will fall on his back from time to time. Even though it takes him a few times of rolling side to side on his back to get up, he's still very full of energy. All in all, the red panda and the corgi just make up sort of how he acts.

Story

"Bleu!" Winter called, ears pinned back as he trudged through the deep snow. The blizzard was kicking up quite heavily, and all he could see was the dense fog, and more snow. The wind kicked up, throwing the hood off his head and making him duck a bit. "Bleu, can you hear me?!" He called out again, standing up to his full height and looking out for any sign of that blue mane, or that red coat.

It started the day he asked Bleu if she wanted to play in the snow. She agreed, of course, so they messed around then. Though, the wind started to kick up, along with the snow. They both shrugged it off like it was nothing, and went to play hide and seek. Bleu was hiding first, and Winter was seeking. So, he went to a tree, faced it, and started counting. Then, it started to snow. The wind was harsh, and the snow was heavy, causing a dense fog that he could barely see from. Winter was worried, and started to trudge through the snow, ears pinned back, hood pulled up.
"Bleu!"

"Winter!" A distant call sounded, very faint because of the howling of the wind. Winter started to run toward the voice, barely, calling out Bleu's name. Soon, they ran into each other, knocking each other to the ground and getting buried in the snow. "Winter!" Bleu barked as she jumped on him, giving him a hug. "I was so worried! I thought I lost you, I thought I was lost, I thought I was a goner,I-"
"Shush." Winter laughed as he hugged her back, then stood up and started back to the home to get to shelter.

As soon as they got their, Winter laid down on a blanket, pulling his hood back over his head. Bleu sat by him and laughed, which caused Winter to perk up a bit and look at her with confusion.
"That was exciting." She said, falling backward. He chuckled slightly and laid his head back down and staring out at the deep snow.
"Yea, I guess it was fun being out there." He said.
"Not just fun, also exciting!" Bleu confirmed as she shook out the snow from her hair.
"Mhm." He hummed as he closed his eyes, quickly falling asleep.

"Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake-" That familiar voice repeated over and over again, waking Winter up with a curious look. He stared at Bleu, who was smiling at him.
"Look!" She pointed to the outside, which was covered in snow. He stood up in shock as he stared at the outdoors, quickly noticing the large fallen tree that was knocked over by the heavy amount of snow that piled up on top of it. Other than that, the whole place was beautiful. Covered in snow, and just a wonderland that was made by a complete disaster could've killed them both if it needed.
"Oh, Mother Nature. The things she can do..." Winter laughed as Bleu smiled widely and laughed with him.
"I'm just glad we didn't die." Bleu said, keeping the same smile.
"Me too, Bleu," Winter chuckled slightly, "Me too."

Name meaning: Doppio, in espresso is a double shot, extracted using a double coffee filter in the portafilter. This results in 60 ml of drink, double the amount of a single shot espresso. They are best for making designs in, such as the famous heart shape. The lines and swirls just made me think this was the perfect name. The designs that are made are creative, coming from the heart for most, which made me think of a warm feeling, such as the coat they have on.

The first one I picked was because it reminded me of my own dog who got stuck in the snow in the middle of our yard. We had to bundle up and go out there to pick him up and bring him inside. XD
The second one I picked was because my brother called me an otter on year for sliding down a hill, this was a very big hill, on my belly. I was wearing a coat and snow pants and I guess i could just...slide like an otter down this hill. Best feeling ever. You should try it!


Other: I would really love to adopt this/win this because it reminds me of my grandma, my last grandma who past away last year. She had a big fluffy coat, and would make us coffee, even though I wasn't old enough to drink it or didn't like coffee. I drank it just for her, she even added milk and hot coco to make it better.

The Origin of Tawny Mphepo

Upon seeing his pale brown fur at birth, this Tawny's parents named him after the color. His surname, Mphepo has a less obvious meaning. It comes from the Chichewa language, spoken only in select regions in Africa. It means "wind". The first Mphepo took the name in honor of her noteworthy speed, though these beginnings were long since forgotten. For this Mphepo, "wind" only reminds him of the chilly, winter-y days he loves so much.

A Fivefingers Winter

I grew up in Oregon, where pines are abundant, both naturally and artificially. My family had a tradition of picking out our own live Christmas tree each year. I remember getting so excited to drive out to a tree farm and help pick one out. As soon as we started searching for the perfect tree, I felt like I entered another world. Children, by default, are not very tall, and I was no exception. Though most of the trees were scarcely taller than your average adult human, they towered above me. I felt like I was in the wilderness, surrounded on all sides by the color green and the scent of pine needles. I felt the first GIF captured the wonder I felt when I had a brief glimpse of wild woods through an artificial forest of Christmas trees waiting to be cut down.

Let's have a look at the second GIF with the big, fluffy snowflakes. Oregon has a fairly warm, mild climate, so much of my childhood was spent in a place where snow was rare. When it snowed, the bleak, muddy Oregon winter was transformed into a Christmas-y wonderland. I always made sure to take advantage of every chance to have snowball fights or sled down our sloped driveway. Since it might only snow a handful of times a year, the city I lived in was poorly equipped to handle it. Even a few inches of snow would put the city in a panic while they called for snowplow reinforcements and emergency shipments of road salt. Almost without fail, a snowy day meant school would be cancelled. Imagine the soaring heart of an eight-year-old kid when they realize that they have a fantastic one-day winter wonderland to play in and no school to interrupt it! Even now, I cannot help but smile when I see big, fat flakes drifting about.
