Sombra is a pediatrician; a child's doctor. It may come with the usual ups and downs, the occasional heart break, and the permanent smile to help those scared to warm up. He's grown attached to all those who've come to him, and he's grown to be another parental figure for them. Yes, some have had been diagnosed with terrible diseases or terminal illnesses, yet Sombra chose to stand beside him to help them fight, no matter what happened. He's not afraid to admit it, but he's shed many many tears for those who never made it. Sombra helped raised those kids, checking them over to see if that little cough will progress to something worse, or if that small ache in their paw will ever go away; even if it turns out just to be a thorn. Sombra feels like a parent to them, and he feels what a parent will feel when something happens to those kids. It may not be as painful, but Sombra finds it hard to watch "his" adolescents graduate to adult care. He's helped protect them and keep them in perfect condition for the best years of their lives, and it's heart breaking to watch them leave. Sombra will always have a room in his heart for every one that leaves.

He loves the way they light up when he makes the silly little faces before he gives them a shot, in hopes to distract them. He loves the little giggles they may give when he sticks his tongue out childishly. Sombra would do anything and everything to hear and see them happy. Sombra, despite not being a father, thinks that one day, helping these kits and adolescents will help him raise his own kids. He's built mountains and dug valleys to wipe the tears and plaster a smile back on their faces. They've helped him understand them, and how to brighten their day up with the tiniest gesture or the smallest joke. The best part of his job is the way the little ones, and occasionally those "rebellious" teenagers, light up when he passes them that jar filled with those sweet little star shaped candies after a day well done. Sombra's gone to Pluto and back to make sure they don't fear the doctor's, doing all he can to wipe that fear of their slate. Though, through all these ups and downs, and every other little emotion, Sombra would never change his job for the world. Sombra loves his job, even though it doesn't seem like a job. It seems like a life style. A part of him. Like he was destined to be a pediatrician. He was warned years back that this would be a mistake. A job that would result with him always being upset. Yet, Sombra shoved that theory into the faces of those who said that to him. He did all he could to be here, and he made it. It's not as bad as they spoke. It's better. He's gained many children, and he loves them all. Sombra will do everything to keep them in perfect health, including a smile on their faces.
