Theme Song: Worst Case Scenario - The HoosiersHistory: ---"Rahmie lost her parents when she was still pretty young, around 6 years old. She doesn't remember much, just that they were a happy family and...that doesn't exist for her anymore." The social worker said, skimming over the file in his hands. He looked up at the couple sitting on the other side of his desk, "She will need a stable home where she can feel accepted and loved." The couple smiled, nodding eagerly. "I'm sure we can provide that, right honey?" The husband said confidently, glance over his wife at the end; her smile widened and she nodded again. Happy that he had finally found a home that wanted to foster one of his older kids, the social worker missed the hint of greed in the couple's eyes - they only wanted to take in another foster kid for the benefits from the state; they hardly cared for the ones they already had...
---"Ahh, you just don't get it!" Rahmie yelled angrily, spinning around and storming out of the house, slamming the door behind her. Muttering in her made up language, she stomped through the snow; each step made the tell-tale crunch of fresh powder, the familiar sound soothing her frazzled nerves. She made her way to the Starbucks at the end of street, glad to see it was mostly empty. "Hi!" The barista greeted warmly when Rahmie came through the door; she managed a soft smile in return. "Your usual?" The gal asked, already reaching for the proper cup. Rahmie nodded and paid without a word. "Venti Peppermint Mocha, hot," the barista called a minute later; Rahmie grabbed her coffee with a grateful nod and left the heated building, taking a deep breath as the cold air rushed to meet her. She walked through the park, a small forested area with a little playground in the first clearing; by the time she returned home, her coffee was gone and she calmed down. She was ready to give this place another chance; taking a deep breath, she opened the door and walked inside. Shouts and crashes greeted her; she flinched at every noise, and tried creeping up the stairs to her room. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?! Get down here and do your chores!" Her foster father shouted, glaring up at her from the kitchen. "I-I already did..." Rahmie started, but he cut her off, shouting even louder, "Then do tomorrow's!" He spun and continued to fight with the other occupants of the house. Tears in her eyes, Rahmie bolted up the stairs and into her room; she grabbed her few belongings and shoved them into her medium-teal backpack, "Where are you going?" A young voice asked softly. Rahmie stopped and looked over her shoulder, in the doorway stood the youngest member of the house; Rahmie didn't answer. She left the pack on the bed to grab her long, brown leather trench coat and pull it on. "Can I come with you, Rahmes?" The soft voice tugged at her heart and made her doubt her decision for a moment. "No, not this time sweetie." Rahmie replied, squatting down in front of her. The girl sniffed but nodded and Rahmie gave her a hug, "I'll miss you, little munchkin." She said, tickling her sides as she pulled back. "I'll miss you too!" The response was broken by giggles. In a better mood now, Rahmie grabbed her pack and slung it over her shoulder then climbed out the window. She walked across the roof softly, then climbed down the lattice and jogged away from the house, never looking back.
---Rahmie spent the night in the park, in a little alcove of underbrush clearly made by many little kids playing games like hide-n-seek and tag. It was cold, but she enjoyed being able to see the stars until she fell asleep and the blissful quiet. The next morning she went to Starbucks for a muffin, then headed for the bus station. She asked the salesmen at the ticket counter for his recommendation on where to go, and bought a ticket to his response...

She perked up at the sight of a Starbucks near the station; once off the bus, she headed there first and got her usual coffee. She sipped at it, letting the warm liquid warm from the inside. She found a pile of snow at the edge of a park and got an idea. Setting her nearly finished coffee down, she began adding to and molding the snow. Soon she had a snowman. Looking around, she saw a tattered green scarf half in a trash bin; when she grabbed it, she noticed an old, faded top hat on the ground and took both back her sculpture. Once finished, she looked at it a moment; the wind picked up, tugging at the scarf and making her shiver. She pulled her mother's jacket closer, then pulled the hood of father's sweatshirt up. The familiar scents brought tears to her eyes and she turned around, sinking to the ground and leaning against the snowman, "I miss you guys...So much..." She sobbed, hugging her knees close and dropping her head.
