Why are they at the beach today?: Yuru is very passionate about well, everything. She's started a collection of 'interesting things' she finds on the beach, her collection full of neat seashells, lost treasure, and glass bottles. Today, like everyday, she is searching for the rarest treasure to show off to all of her friends. Of course, this young koala thinks everything is rare just because she happened to stumble upon it when no one else has seen it.

Why are they at the beach today?: It Was A Really Hot Warm Summer And She loves Sand And Shells So She Decided To Bring Her Spade And Bucket with her She stayed an hour to make a great sandcastle! She was still here the next day.

Why are they at the beach today?: it's simple. kim's at the beach to protest against the amount of trash that is found there. she's pretty passionate about it- although she was also passionate about saving the big tree, and raising funds for the RSPCA, and so many other things that would take too long to list- and came prepared with banners and all. but she's pretty impatient, and got bored quickly, which then led to her deciding to build a sandcastle. In the name of her cause, of course.

Why are they at the beach today?:

Koia is hanging out with her bear bud Camden! Unlike Koia, Cam can build huge sandcastles with ease. His creations always tower over hers but that doesn't stop her from continuing to try and create something she is proud of.
They first met at the boardwalk in fact. Camden was playing his favorite game, Pokemon Go, and bumped unknowingly into Koia knocking her bucket to the ground. She was already agitated by -once again- failing to make a sand castle, that when her bucket dropped so did her calm and collected attitude. She went off on Camden, and even though he apologized for not looking where he was going, Koia hit him over the head with her shovel. He offered to buy her a sweet treat to make up for it, and immediately after hearing those words she was back to her bright and perky self. They got ice cream together, Koia had a ice pop and Cammy (what she calls him now) had a simple ice cream sandwich. He paid of course! They nicknamed themselves the 'Bear Buds' since they are both types of bears which made Koia laugh more than it should. Once showing him her love for sandcastle building, but the horrible tragedy that was she didn't do quite a well job, Cammy showed off his skills in the art and she was incredibly impressed. He offered to help instruct her, maybe give her some pointers, and thus their friendship was born. He is only two years older and they get together a lot, they often go to the beach to practice castle building.
That is why they went today. She uses her bucket to create the central mold, then after about the 8th try of turning it over, the sand will finally stick together and form the shape she wants. This accomplishment is a big one for Koia, she jumps for joy when the whole mold comes out intact. Once that is done, she scavenges the beach for shells and other junk. Koia despises others who litter on a beach. She sees the beach as a sacred place, where everyone can come and relax and express their creativity. When people litter and disrespect that area it infuriates her. Although, their garbage does sometimes make very exciting and cool building material!
She absolutely loves the sand and molding it even if she doesn't do well. The soft sand in her fingers is one of the best feelings in the world to Koia. The calming noise of the waves crashing against the shore in the background soothes her and brings her back to reality. She is most at home when she is at the beach, her dream is to build a sand castle so big she could live in it forever! She would never have to leave the beach for anything. She would have to invite Cammy to be her roommate of course. The thought just leaves her in the happiest haze.
