Why the Accessory?:
He loves roses, he remembers them from his bitter-sweet childhood. He didn't always like them, but his best friend did. One day they had gotten very, very sick. He rushed to the flower shop to get them some roses, but by the time he got to the hospital all of the nurses and doctors were in the room and he knew something was wrong. He rushed to the door, roses still in his hand, tears streaming down his face. He sat there all night until the doctors and nurses finally came out of the room, he ran in, sitting by his friend. They were still sleeping so he put the roses by their bed, and wrote :
Their friend didn't make it through the night. The last thing ever given to them was roses, so Dyfri wears this to honor him.

Why the Accessory?:
Zari had made the headdress at her plant nursery. She received the idea from a coworker, who showed her a plethora of flower-adorned Kalons on their mobile. It's such a simple idea to many, but it was certainly a revelation to Zari. She began with a real, vibrant set of flowers, using her hour break to twine the stems into a unified headdress. After the flowers withered, she went to the town's hobby store to purchase some faux flowers, doing her best to maintain a realistic look. She wears the accessory whenever she is able; from tending to the plants on a Tuesday evening, delivering roses to an unsuspecting office-worker, as well as catering to a restaurant's grand opening, she feels at ease with her crown atop her head. As many may have put it, Zari's truly "one with the roses".

Why the Accessory?: Currently, Ainsley wears her ‘crown’ for two reasons: because it looks pretty, and as a reminder of the past and symbol of finding strength in even the most desperate of situations. She first bought the accessory during her early teens, when she found it on sale in a small store. The four loves of her life are, and always have been, chocolate, fluffy socks, high-waisted denim shorts and flowers, the latter of which is the reason for her purchase of it. Though she never thought about this alongside it, she was at the time struggling a lot with bullying and having just come out as transgender. People would, in true teenager fashion, laugh at her, call her names, refuse to use her correct pronouns, and take every opportunity to call her a boy. Ainsley would often find herself dreading going to school in the morning, and the next was no exception. Before leaving the house, she took the crown and placed it on her head. She paused for a moment, stood still, whispered two words to herself.
“I am,” she said. I am me. I am strong. I am female. I am unbreakable.
Going to class that day, she pretended that the crown gave her invincibility. Though she knew that this was not the case, it was a comfort to be able to make believe in this way. As ridiculous as it may sound, this crown, with its cheap synthetic flower and plastic twigs, was what helped Ainsley through a difficult time. Now, it serves as a reminder:
I am Ainsley.

In short, Titania is Ainsley’s inspiration. Despite the fact that Titania is younger than her, Ainsley has looked up to her almost since they met, having found that, as her name suggests, the younger girl is metaphorically made of metal. When around her, she finds that she can draw from her boldness and courage a strength of her own, maybe one which had once been hidden beneath years of being emotionally beaten down. Where she falls, Titania will always pick her up to a new height, and where Titania feels the need to rant or vent, she will always be there to listen. Not long after first meeting her, Ainsley developed something of a crush on the other, but by now, years later, this has subsided. In terms of interactions, the two will often talk for the entirety of their lunch breaks over coffee at the shop Titania works at, or have ‘girls’ nights out’s when the weekend finally comes. A lot of their interests are fairly similar, and Ainsley finds that she can become immersed in conversations with her friend very easily, and Titania will often pull her into conversations with her own friends, knowing that they will surely get along and that Ainsley is slightly less confident and outspoken than she. Should the need ever arise, either girl is more than willing to stand up for the other, even if this is fairly common with Titania, who will often see Ainsley's typical, somewhat awkward ‘interacting with acquaintances look’ and assume the worst. All the same, it is safe to say that both Titania and Ainsley love and respect one another as friends should.

Every morning at nine-fifteen or so, though it's sometimes earlier or later depending on how well the organised section of her mind has served her that day, Ainsley visits a small coffee shop, where she orders an Espresso Macchiato and chats with the store’s owner – who just so happens to be Connie. Their interactions had been the general kind at first; simple, concise, and polite, but they soon began to speak to each other more frequently, turning into full-blown discussions after Ainsley experienced a particularly rough breakup with a girlfriend at the time. When upset, Ainsley has always tended to open up at even the slightest mention of the subject and talk to anyone who will listen. That morning, the listener was Connie, and they talked – and sobbed - over the counter until Ainsley's drink went cold. She took the drink anyway, for the sake of being polite, and thanked Connie from the bottom of her heart for being there. From that point, their conversations have continued, and together they discuss personal issues, finding relief in having someone impartial with whom they can talk freely. Though they know each other by name, and often tell each other stories about their lives and the recent events within them, neither truly considers the other as one of their good friends, given that they have never spent time together outside of their mornings in the coffee shop and both appreciate the bond and freedom that acquaintanceship can offer. All the same, either one of them would become worried and quite honestly sad should their coffee shop acquaintance one day cease to stand by that ever familiar counter.

Tinkerbell
At war with Titania for the status of being Ainsley's best friend is Tinkerbell, Ainsley's treasured cat and companion. Though she likes dogs as well, Ainsley has always been a cat person at heart, and the ball of pampered tabby fur which follows her around is one of her favourite things. Every "miaow" means the world to her, put simply.
