Introductions
Hello, my name's hyperthymesia. I am a half-Russian, half-English agender teen living in the UK.
✪
Name of character + explanations
Gender of character: Female
I feel like her name should be Anemone. It fits her really well, I think!
I actually looked up anemones, and I found out that, not only are they sea-creatures, but also they are a plant, which further confirmed my choice of her name. It was the first one that popped into my head, and it stuck.
Anemones are beautiful, sea-beings, ranging in different colours, though google searches seem to bring up a lot of pinks, blues and greens, which remind me of this little hedgehog here. They look fragile, gentle, soft, and yet they have that aggressive spike when they sting other fish {excluding clownfish, ofc}, which I felt applied to Anemone's being a hedgehog - if faced with a threat, she could easily use her spikes to protect herself.
The flower, Anemone, is actually really beautiful and looks very smooth - it looks flawless, which is how I perceive this character as well. They tend to be in shades of white, drastic violet and pinks/reds, which, once again, reminded me of this hedgehog. Moreover, I just feel like the flower fits her in general.
So yeah. Her name is Anemone, for more reasons than just the fact that she is beautiful - she may have a little bite added to it! c;

Her favourite style
Anemone is actually really into dresses. But not just any dresses - Victorian dresses, to be exact. She loves the swish of noise the fabric makes as she turns in circles when experimenting with different styles of dresses and colours. Her favourite are the long-sleeved ones which have several layers and lace trimmings. Her favourite colour is blue, but with the dresses, she tends to wear silvery-blue or red ones, which both are a complete contrast to her hair colour and make her eyes stand out even more than before.
She always has to be careful, though, because on occasion, her spikes can cause a tear in the fabric and she will have to stitch it back together, which is always such a pain! At least she can use her spines as needles.
Favourite flower: Anemone Flower
✪
Personality + Quirks/Habits
Anemone is a very kind-hearted soul, and is always out to look after others and take them under her wing spike - hardeehar - which causes lots of little ones to look up to her. She acts like a 'big sister' figure, and likes caring after children. With other furries her age, she is more timid and reserved, but she is good at monologues and can address a crowd in a loud, stern voice if she wishes.
However, if she is threatened or angered, this is quite different. She will puff up, eyes going a dark shade of ocean-blue, and her spikes will pierce through her clothing - imagine Hulk, but as a hedgehog; it's a bit like that. She cares deeply for others, and though she has not many friends her age, she will stand up for them until the very end.
A quirk of hers is naming inanimate objects. She talks to herself a lot, and voices out the stories she spins in her head - she wants to be an author as an adult - so over time, she found herself starting to name objects such as lampshades, dresses, and pencils. With the dresses, however, she makes sure to name them old-fashioned names - her favourite dresses are called Susanne, Anne-Louise, and Florence, with the exception of Kiki, which is her maid's attire. She makes sure to keep this quirk to herself though, as a few of her friends have questioned her naming habits on occasion, and it embarrasses her horribly.
A speech feature of hers is - almost always starting her sentences with 'um', unless she is speaking confidently, or to a large crowd, in which case she is as articulate as possible. She often badgers on friends to pronounce their 't's' and other letters that are often glazed over.
✪
Hobbies, Skills + Other
Anemone has a few hobbies and interests which are all equally-fun to her:
¬Sewing and stitching; ripping dresses and other fabrics over the years has taught her to become quite fast in whatever task is awaiting which requires some thread, a needle, and maybe some wool.
¬Flower-pressing; she likes seeking out rare flowers and pressing them in between her favourite books, but she always makes sure to ask whether she may be allowed to pick the flower in question. She most often spares the most pretty ones.
¬Tea; Anemone is infatuated with teas. It's not clear whether this is due to her love for Victorian-style-anything, or if she genuinely likes the taste of tea. She just likes collecting the packets and trying them on a rare occasion, though she knows for fact that she hates green-tea.
¬Books; she tends to swerve towards 'old, picky lady-detective' books, but an ultimate favourite of hers is the Sherlock Holmes series. She has read all of the books, four times over, and is halfway through reading them her fifth time.
¬Macrame; as well as her love for stitching and sewing, a strong skill of Anemone's is macrame weaving. She has produced one dress with macrame trimmings, and it resides in her wardrobe, lovingly dubbed 'Ruth'. She wears it only to parties that her book-club-friends organise.
