Why is it sad?; Grayson is sad because recently his pet goldfish died. He was so very upset about it, because that goldfish was his best friend in the entire universe. He has other friends, but the goldfish had been with him through everything. It took him a very long time to get over it, but he eventually did, knowing his pet was in a better play.
How would you cheer it up?; I would bring him out for ice-cream and a walk in the park. He loves the park, and the pond where he got his fish from. We would talk for a bit and he would feel better knowing that his fish was in a better place.

"You said it would be tasty! You know I don't like spicy foods!! Aahhhh"
Polar tried eating a bite of octopus tentacle that their friend had cooked,
but it turned out to be crazy spicy! Bleh! It burned his tongue, gave him a
runny nose, and is making their eyes water! Ewww... Polar can't help but feel
a bit apprehensive toward this friend now, so he sent them away, but now
he really misses their company.

How would you cheer it up?;
I'd bring their friend back, after picking up really cheesy pizza and
blockbuster movies! After food and some company, they'd eventually
get a smile on their face again.

Why is he sad?;; It wasn't as if he hadn't seen it coming. His entire life, he'd known. His family was livewired with hatred and arguments throughout his childhood and into young adulthood; persisting throughout his life, even when he got beyond the walls of his homestead. Granted, he was thankful. Getting out of that mess alive was certainly something. He escaped, not unscated; but alive.

The shadow of his family didn't follow him far. The last name was well known; they were affluent and notorious as a happy poster family. Celebrities, if you will. Luckily for Spec, they'd never really included him. He was a child out of wedlock; further fuelling his parents hatred for one another. They kept him because it would be morally wrong to get rid of him. His father, who had been the one caught with the affair, took him in after the unfortunate disappearance of his birth mother. Due to all of this, Spectrum changed his name to escape the spotlight.

He knew that one day their charade would be broken in some way, and their catered and sheltered way of being would be broken apart by the reality of their sheer misery. Despite all the wrongs his parents had done to him, they had still at least attempted to raise him. The environment was hostile; but they had made attempts to be kind to him, or bring him some small peace in the wreckage of their own marriage. He'd known for a long time that they'd crash; but he took no satisfaction in it. After all, he'd never hated them.

He only wanted them to stop yelling, to think positively, to try harder in attempts to be happy-- and he wanted them to love and care for him; but they tucked him away. After all, they had a reputation and he was unfavorable. He hated that part of himself, and he hated moreso that his parents couldn't do the only thing he'd ever asked.

Now that they had fallen from their lucky graces, he knew he'd likely never see them again. He heard through the internet, which he'd been using to keep tabs on their various celebrity activities. It tore him apart to know; so he stayed inside, balled up in his blankets and did one thing he'd never allowed himself in the entire span of his natural life. He cried.

How would you cheer him up?;; Spectrum just wants to see his parents once last time. I'd encourage him to pick up the phone and finally talk it out with them, tell them everything he ever denied them the knowledge of-- everything he'd tried to defend them from, I'd ask him to simply let it all out of his system and tell them exactly how it is he felt, and how he still feels. They may not agree afterwards, but bottling that up inside himself for so long really sent him into a bit of a downward spiral. Hiding it from everyone is what made him feel so internally... empty. He just needs to tell someone, to talk it out and let himself finally get rid of the burden of his past.
