Item description;;
Kouki, whose name means "light" in Japanese, wears a japanese lantern on his tail. The japanese writing on the lantern (光 - hikari) means "light" too.
Kouki himself used to be afraid of the dark when he was younger. His grandmother then would light up some lanterns and tell him beautiful stories of a kingdom where the sun never sets and where no shadows existed. Kouki especially wears the lantern in honor of his grandmother, who took him in and cared for him, after his father refused to, because he blamed the Viscling for the death of his mate. Kouki has not always been treated good in his life, but he brushes everything off with a smile. Today he is known as the light-bringer, amongst Viscets as well as humans. He lives in the deepest forests and highest mountains of Japan but occassionally also travels around the whole world, where he guides lost souls out of the darkness into the light. The lantern he wears on his tail is special because the flame is said to be everlasting. Actually, there is no proof that Kouki has the same, normal, life-span of an average Viscet, but there are stories which tell otherwise. Stories from centuries ago, telling tales about the light-bringer, who has brought so many beings back to the light.
There is one story which says that whenever you find yourself surrounded by darkness, the light-bringer, which name is Kouki, will find you. You might not see him, but the light of his lantern promises you safety. And you will follow the light and you will know that it is him, Kouki, who guides you. Kouki, who once saved a Japanese king from being devoured by evil shadows threatening his life. The king built a city and named it Kouki, in honor of his saviour. Until today once in a year the city of Kouki holds a festival of lights where they will light thousands of lanterns and release them into the air and the water, to thank the light-bringer, who the city was named after. And every year again there will be one single flame peaking out of a cave in the mountains high above the city. Kouki will be looking down at his people, watching them celebrate, and then leaving to lead another lost one into the light.
