Personality

Wren is kind and hardworking. She’s shy, especially in big crowds, but she doesn’t let that stop her. She’s very adventurous and loves traveling. She loves to ski and likes taking trips to ski resorts in different states and countries. She’s a dreamer. She never does anything halfway. Her ideas are always extravagant. She’s not very good at turning her dreams into reality. She’s not the most pragmatic sima, and sometimes the things she dreams up just can’t be made. She’s still waiting for the day hoverboards become a thing. Yet she never stops dreaming. Not every idea she has can be executed, but some can, and those are the ones that encourage her to keep trying. Wren is very passionate about living a healthy life. She has an exercise schedule that she follows religiously. She food conscious as well, being mindful of the kinds of things she eats. She doesn’t like to eat overly processed foods because they’re not as good for a person’s health. She loves animals and so decided to become vegetarian when she was seven. Her relatives were a little confused by this and thought it was just a phase she’d outgrow, like her barbie dolls, but she didn’t. She stuck to her decision and her parents helped her get all the information she needed to stay in good health and grow.

Life of a Pokémon Fan

Wren has been a pokemon fan all her life. She when she was five she saw an episode when she got home from school and she was hooked. She collected the cards and would play with her friends. She also played the gameboy and DS games. Her favorites were sapphire and soul silver. They all liked playing the video games more, battling and trading was so much more fun, but they still played the card game. Her high school had a gaming club. She learned to play D and D and yugioh, but her favorite thing was still to play pokemon with the other kids. They hosted a few tournaments throughout the year, both card and video game tournaments, and Wren played in every one. She even won it twice. The first time she won, she asked if it meant she was a pokemon master now. Her friends hugged her and called her a dork. She went to her first pokemon convention when she was thirteen with her best friend. She loved going to panels and seeing all the art and cosplay there. But she didn’t talk to many people because she’s shy and gets really quiet when faced with large crowds. But she found a way to get around that. She found that if she went in cosplay, she was able to talk to strangers a lot more readily. This is because when she’s cosplaying, she’s a character first and herself second, which gives her that needed bit of distance from her shyness and self consciousness. She can’t go to as many conventions as she’d like because of time and money constraints, but she tries to go to at least two a year. It’s a good thing she lives in a big comics and anime town.

Relationships

Vitalus

Vitalus is her friend. She saw him trying, and failing, to get a
drink from the drinking fountain and walked up to help.
They got to talking and she offered to show him some of her
favorite things to do to introduce him to Earth. She brought
him to a water park and they had a blast trying all the
waterslides. They also had a lot of fun going to different
restaurants so Vitalus could try different Earth cuisines.
They both really liked the Italian and Chinese places they ate
at, but Wren can’t understand his love of Indian food, she
finds it too spicy to be enjoyable. They became fast friends.
They both love the cold and playing games. Wren taught
Vitalus how to play pokemon and a bunch of other card
games. He likes the card game more than the video
games, but Wren can still get him to battle her every
now and then. Vitalus also taught her games from his
planet. He has also brought Wren to his home planet
twice. Wren loves being able to see Vitalus’s home and
learning about where her friend came from.

Partner in Crime

Wren adopted a kitten from the shelter when she was twelve.
She’s a russian blue that Wren named Glaceon, Glacie for short.
She adores her kitty and spoils her rotten. Glaceon is very
affectionate and sleeps on Wren’s bed. In the evenings, Glacie
will curl up on Wren’s stomach while she’s watching TV or on her
phone. Wren takes Glaceon everywhere, even on vacation. If she
can’t find a place to stay that allows pets, she just won’t go. For
one of her cosplays, Wren made Glacie a glaceon hat and cape.
That was one of most eventful photoshoots Wren’s done. Glacie
didn’t like like the hat and refused to sit still for more than a few
seconds. Wren thought it would be easier to get photos of Glacie
walking beside her, because Wren walks her on a leash regularly,
but even a walk wasn’t enough to distract her from the offending
hat.

Likes

She loves skiing. Winter is Wren’s favorite season. So
skiing combines her love of snow and cold with the
feeling of flying as she races down the mountain. For
a change of pace she also enjoys snowshoeing. Her
favorite foods are strawberries and spaghetti. She also
just loves sweets in general, though she’s mindful not
to eat too many, too much of a good thing and all. She
loves animals of all kinds but her favorite are birds and
musk ox. She loves to go bird watching and visit the
raptor center. She likes to sing and do karaoke with
friends, though not in front of crowds, because she
gets really bad stage fright. She can carry a tune, but
she’s no professional singer. But she’s doesn’t need to
be amazing, she just likes expressing herself and having
fun with it.

Dislikes

Wren’s always been afraid of the dark. She also hates haunted
houses at the fair and amusement parks. She doesn’t like kale or
pickles. She doesn’t have the patience for gardening. Wren also
gets really freaked out by thunderstorms. She doesn’t know why,
but whenever there’s a thunderstorm she feels like there’s
something out there. For that same reason she dislikes fires.
Wren doesn’t actually like the spring. The warming of the
weather and retreat of winter has always irritated her.

Abilities

She has the ability to make snowstorms, but only over a small area, about 100 square feet. She can also create shards of ice by freezing the water in the air. She can maneuver these shards at will, in a way a little like telekinesis. She can also control water, but not as well as she can control ice and snow. She can make a cover of mist rather easily, though. If she does this in low light, like early morning or the evening, she blends in so well people have trouble finding her. She wishes she could fly like the birds she loves watching, but she can’t.

press the Pokedex option. This Articuno seems a little bit...
different. You decide to press some of the buttons, to see if
it will help. Maybe it's a glitch? After pressing A a few times,
the Pokedex entry changes.
"Blanche calls him Blitz. He was once an Articuno, but
transformed into a sima."
The 'Articuno' turns to look at you, and smiles a warm
smile.
"You must be a trainer... I haven't seen many around recently.
Blanche warned me about some of them, and not to talk to
any. But you do seem nice... want to hear a bit about me?"
Two options flicker on your screen; YES and NO. You press
YES, he seems fairly friendly, and you wouldn't harm him.
"Great, though please don't tell Blanche about this..."x

A battle sequence commences.
Before he can say another word the screen freezes up.

You restart it like the DS tells you to, but it doesn't seem to turn on.
It stays black for a few seconds, and then the screen flashes up.

"Hah, welcome! Sorry about that. Now back to what I was saying...

Personality
Blitz tends to not talk to many people after the Team Luna incident, other than Blanche or people he believes he can trust. He doesn't mind talking to Simas though. He can usually be found on his own reading quietly, and doesn't socialise much. He used to be very competitive when he was a Pokemon, and is a little bit still, but these days he tends to not like to put up a fight, and would rather just talk it out.

Blitz originally belonged to Blanche, the team Mystic leader. He was what sparked Blanche's interest in evolution, by 'evolving' into a sima through a special sort of stone. This plan was mainly to stop Team Luna, a team like Team Rocket, but they specialised in capturing rarer Pokemon. The change was thought to be temporary, but turns out he still took the form of a sima. He was still an Articuno, yet not. Blanche thought it was safer for him to live with other simas, since she heard about simas, but never once saw them. If he were to stay, Team Luna would have taken him. Team Luna was defeated, but they were still lurking, and currently no one knows where they are, or where they will strike next. Blitz powers were weakened during the fight against Team Luna, so escaping for him would've been hard. Blanche and Blitz still like to meet up at least once a year because of their distance, but they call each other often to know how each other are doing.

Blitz is currently living alone with other simas in an apartment, doing quite well for himself. It did take him a while to get used to not having his full power potential though, not being able to freeze things as well.

• I mean, it could be worse... •
They don't get a long most of the time.
Blitz usually likes to hang around on his own, and
when Scur and the Moltres sima are around,
things get a little annoying for Blitz lets just say.
Rain is probably the only thing they can get along
with though.

• Not really •
Arcturus and Blitz don't get along quite so
well either. Arcturus, being the grumpy sima he is,
often frightens Blitz. In fact, Blitz is gets a little bit
scared whenever he sees a red glow, thinking it
might be Arcturus.

• Friends •
Adamina and Blitz share common interests,
so don't mind being around each other. Blitz likes to
play Pokemon, he's currently playing Pokemon
Platinum, with Adamina and she doesn't seem to mind
it. Blitz and Adamina also like to play the original
Pokemon Trading Card game and Adamina seems to be
better than Blitz at it.

Blanche sneered at the trainer before her. “Ha, get ready to be defeated, Lumi.”
Lumi looked up to Blanche. “Oh we’ll see. Go, Vanilluxe!”
“Go Vulpix!”
“Wow, you haven’t even evolved your Vulpix yet? This battle is going to be easy.”
Blanche laughed at Lumi as she took away Vulpix’s everstone. “You shouldn’t have laughed, Lumi.”
In front of their eyes, a huge Ninetales grew from this once tiny Vulpix.
“Who’s laughing now, huh?” Blanche giggled to herself.

Blanche dusted herself. She put Ninetales back into his Pokeball. “Rest now. You were great out there.” She whispered to it.
“Well played Blanche. You really do deserve to own this gym.”
“Wait… what?”
“You’ve always wanted an ice gym ever since we were kids! I’ve just been reserving it for you, until I could find you again. And here we are, ten years later. How time flies by. I’ve really been looking forward to exploring the world of Pokemon like you have.”
“But Lumi…”
“No but-s. Here’s my number in case you want to call me sometime.”
And just like that, Lumi bounded out of the gym, a huge grin on her face. “Th-th-thank you!” Blanche shouted before Lumi was out of sight.

Blanche released her other five Pokemon, leaving Ninetales in his Pokeball to rest.
“Go Glaceon, Aurorus, Lapras, Froslass and the star of the show… Articuno!”
Almost synchronised, all the pokemon came out of their pokeballs at once. “Friends, I’m bringing you great news!”
Glaceon jumped onto Blanche’s lap, intrigued of what Blanche was saying. Aurorus was lying next to Blanche, with Froslass sitting on Aurorus’ head. Lapras and Articuno sat down next to each other.
“We… own this gym!”
All of the Pokemon’s’ eyes lit up. This had been their dream for a long time. And it came true!
Articuno put his wing around Blanche. “Haha, I’m happy too Blitz.” Blanche smiled the biggest smile she ever had smiled. They owned the Snowblanc Gym. And oh boy, Blanche was ready to start her gym leader quest.

“With our calm analysis of every situation we can't lose!” Blanche spoke to the trainer before her.
The boy, a few years younger than Blanche, looked at her. “Well I always trust my instincts!”
Blanche gazed at the boy. “Not a bad motto, though a speech would be more effective.”
The boy shook his head. “I haven’t got one yet…”
“Hah, then maybe after our battle you can think of one. Go Glaceon!” Glaceon leaped in front of Blanche.
“Go Luxray!” the boy yelled. A smaller than usual Luxray appeared in front of him. “Luxray, luxray!” the Luxray yelled, filled with determination.
“Luxray, not a bad Pokémon I see. Though I can tell he’s recently evolved, and I’m sure he’ll be super powerful in the future with the right training. Enough talking, Glaceon, use Ice Beam!”

The young boy shook hands with Blanche. “Nice match. One day, when my Pokémon are stronger, I’ll come back here! I will get the Snowflake badge! You won’t forget me.”
“Haha, oh I won’t.” Blanche smiled. “What’s your name, Instinct boy?”
“Spark they call me. Not Instinct boy ma’am. Though Instinct sounds like a pretty cool team name… but that’s not what I’m here for! I’ll see you again someday, oh you’ll see.”
“I bet I will!” Blanche laughed, “Good luck on your travels!”
“Instinct doesn’t need luck! We just have our Instincts ma’am!”
Blanche waved goodbye. “That was one of the most fun battles I’ve ever had. I do hope I see Instinct-Boy again, haha.”

Blanche was an incredible gym leader. Rumour says not many trainers have ever gotten the now coveted Snowflake Badge. Everyone from the Vertrose region speaks of her incredible gym battles, how beautiful her gym is, and how beautiful yet powerful her Pokémon are.
It was one day though, which everything changed. Blanche sighed as she spoke to her Pokémon
“Look… if some people come in black uniform, calling themselves Team Luna, please tell me right away if you can. Try to run and hide. These people… they do horrible things. I don’t want anything bad happening to any of you though. Especially you Blitz. I need to go now. I’m sorry I can’t take you with me. Professor Spruce said she needed me, and warned about not bringing Pokémon. We are trying to find them, and they are incredibly powerful. She doesn’t want you all to be hurt…”
A squabble of squawking and crying was let out in disagreement. It would only be logical for Blanche to bring them with her for protection…
“I know what you all are thinking. I’m confused too. But Prof. Spruce has to have a reason…”
Blanche rushed out of the gym door, locking it. She was scared, but she didn’t want to see her Pokémon sad being left behind. They always went together, whether side by side or in Pokeball.

“Prof. Spruce! I heard you called?”
“Indeed I did. I’m sorry I had to make you leave your Pokémon behind, I know you have an incredible bond. But this is important. We think we have the key to defeating Team Luna.”
“Really? That’s amazing! But why would you need me?”
“We need a Pokémon with such a strong bond, yet great power. Blitz… specifically.”
“Oh… you won’t do anything bad to him?”
“No… this should go well hopefully.”
“Hopefully? I don’t want to risk Blitz… he’s always been there with me…”
“He fits every category for this to work. No other Pokémon has had a perfect match. It shouldn’t be permanent anyway…”
“Anyway?”
“I’m sorry for being like this… I know you had a great bond. But this could be the key to fighting back Team Luna! Everything we’ve tried, they’ve seemed to backfire to us. It’s either this, or Team Luna defeating us all. They just need to destroy Mystic Town, and the rest for them would be a piece of cake. So please… If not I understand, sacrificing your most beloved Pokemon would be a hard thing.” Prof. Spruce looked at her partner, sitting on her shoulder, a Chatot. “Though if you do this… if we do this… it could work.”
Blanche sat on the floor. This was too much for her. Her partner, possibly gone from her? Though the awful things Team Luna have done, stealing Pokémon, destroying gyms and Pokecenters… there wasn’t many Pokecenters left in Vertrose. Luckily for her, she had a bunch of potions, super potions and oran berries that she would give to the defeated trainers after gym battles. They didn’t take much interest to Blitz though, they already had an Articuno.
Maybe she might do it. Team Luna wanted to take all over Vertrose. Either fight, or be fought.
There needed to be a stop to this.
“I’ll do it. As long as Blitz is okay with it, of course.”
“Oh thank you, thank you!” Prof. Spruce fell into Blanche’s arms, grateful.

“Blitz…” Blanche gazed up at the magnificent Articuno, sitting in front of her. She put the hexagon shaped stone in front of him. “Look, you don’t have to do this. But Prof. Spruce said… we could defeat Team Luna… with your help. Apparently it works like an evolution stone, so it shouldn’t hurt… just hold it. But of course, if you’re scared of this whole form changing thing, you don’t have to do it at all.”
Blitz cooed and rubbed his head on Blanche’s shoulder. He gave a small nod.
“Great. Let’s go to Prof. Spruce’s, she wanted to see this for her own eyes.”

Blitz gently lay his beak down on the hexagonal stone. It was grey with a slight blue tint. Almost instantly, a bright glow covered Blitz’s body. He gave another nod. He wanted to do this for Blanche. Of course, their bond. They were inseparable. Blitz’s beak elongated, his wings almost disintegrating like petals. He grew another pair of legs, and two feathery ears. The whole transformation reminded Blanche of evolution. Mega evolution. But not quite.
The glowing stopped. The once Articuno in front of them was much more different. Fluffier. But Blanche didn’t mind. He still had those eyes. Those relaxed yet loving eyes. Those eyes that filled with determination.
“It… worked?” Prof. Spruce whispered to herself. “It worked! Oh, it worked! Of course, much different to what we expected, yet it still worked!”
Blitz looked at himself in the lab mirrors. He admired his new form. He was now one of a kind.
“The stone though, I’m intrigued. How can it… evolve Pokemon like that? Would it even be considered evolution?” Blanche was excited. Blitz wasn’t like the Pokemon he was before.
“Oh yeah, Pokedex right.” Blanche scanned the Pokedex on the Articuno. “S-sima?”
“Sima! That’s it! Aa, I was wondering what he reminded me off!”
“There’s... more of these Pokemon-sima things?”
“Oh indeed. Many more. Not many are sure how they come to be. In fact, we usually hide the fact they exsist…”
“Why?”
“People might think we are experimenting on Pokemon in an unlawful way.”
“Wait, so you didn’t make the stone?”
“No. I found it in the wild yesterday. I scanned it, all my machines could pick up from it was it was some form changing item. It reminds me of some of the other stones I’ve found, they have that similar shimmer. Glossy matt. There has been some other ways we’ve found Sima-Pokemon though. I don’t recommend showing Blitz around though.”
“Well, Blitz is a show off…” Blanche turned to look at Blitz. He grinned a huge grin. He was clearly loving this new form anyway. “Anyway, I thought the main reason we would let this happen was to fight Team Luna!”
“Yes, and I think I’ve found where they are going to be.”
“Well, what are we doing here? Let’s go Blitz! Let's defeat Team Luna for once and for all!”
